UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey with a total of twelve bouts and twenty four competitors on the card.

MMAjunkie.com posted the medical suspensions early Sunday morning after receiving the list from NJSACB exec Nick Lembo.

Nine fighters were handed indefinite suspensions, but all can be given the OK after proper medical clearance.

Headliners Maurico “Shogun” Rua and Jon Jones were among the suspensions. Rua received an indefinite suspension pending clearance, with a minimum of 60-day’s for the TKO loss. Jones is also under an indefinite sentence pending clearance of his right hand.

The full UFC 28: Shogun vs. Jones medical suspensions are as follows:

Mauricio “Shogun” Rua: Suspended indefinitely pending CT head scan, minimum 60-day suspension for TKO loss
Brendan Schaub: Suspended indefinitely pending CT scan of facial/orbital bones, minimum 60-day suspension for facial laceration
Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic: Suspended indefinitely pending CT head scan, minimum 30-day suspension for knockout loss and facial lacerations
Raphael Assuncao: Suspended 30 days for knockout loss
Jon Jones: Suspended indefinitely pending X-ray, MRI and orthopedic clearance of right hand
Kamal Shalorus: Suspended indefinitely pending CT scan of facial/orbital bones
Luiz Cane: Suspended indefinitely pending X-ray and orthopedic clearance of left thumb
Eliot Marshall: Suspended indefinitely pending CT head scan, minimum 30-day suspension for TKO loss
Edson Barboza: Suspended indefinitely pending X-ray of right hand and right knee
Ian Loveland: Suspended indefinitely pending MRI and orthopedic clearance of right ankle

Newly crowned UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones completely dominated former champ Mauricio “Shogun” Rua during all three rounds of their title bout at UFC 128. Looking at the striking stats, as provided by FightMetric.com, it’s easy to see that Jones dominated Rua in every aspect of the fight by landing 75 significant strikes out of 102, compared to “Shogun’s” 9 out of 11. Not only did he land 73.5% of his strikes, the new champ also scored on all three takedown attempts.

The latest event from the Polish promotion Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki, KSW XV: Revenge is set to take place tonight in Warsaw, Poland and marks the twentieth mma event for that company.

The main event sees James Irvin, who was recently suspended by the California State Athletic Commission for a positive steroid test, square off against promotional champ Mamed Khalidov in a non title bout. Both men had been scheduled to meet in a middleweight match, but both failed to make weight for the bout and have since agreed to a catchweight bout.

Sherdog.com, via MMArocks.pl, noted that “the promotion expected that Irvin would come in overweight, which may explain why Khalidov also failed to make the middleweight limit.”

The event also features a light heavyweight title bout between champion Jan Blachowicz vs. Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou, as well as the promotions lightweight and welterweight tournament Finals.
