Movember Update: Karmaatemycat’s Mo’ Team Needs Your Donations!

(I can’t really grow a moustache either. So yeah, I’ll consider it. / Image via Muffvember advocate @MieshaTate)

Whether you’re struggling to push out some lip-fuzz or are already rocking a Full Beltran, we’d like to take a moment to thank everybody who’s participating in Movember this year to raise cash and awareness for important men’s health issues. And we wanted to send a special shout-out to our old friend Jefferey “Karmaatemycat” Watts, who has joined up the Mo’ed Men super-network that our comrades at MadeMan.com organized.

We’ll keep the sales pitch brief: Karma has a heart of gold, and the Movember cause has personal significance to him, as several of his family members and friends have been stricken with cancer over the years. If you’ll recall, he was also one of the main driving forces behind our successful fundraising efforts for Laura “angrylittlefeet” Nicholson earlier this year. So even if you’re not growing a mo’ this year, please swing by Jefferey’s page and donate a few dollars to the cause. Every little bit helps. Any questions, let us know in the comments section. Thanks guys.

CagePotato PSA: It’s Movember 1st. You Shaved, Right?

(Dang. Even Mike Beltran prefers baseball to MMA.)

Today marks the first day of Movember, the annual men’s health awareness campaign in which participants start the month clean-shaven, then grow out their moustaches and raise money for things like testicular cancer. If you’re participating, you were supposed to shave this morning. Maybe you forgot, and if so, that’s totally cool. Some of our unemployed friends on the West Coast are still getting out of bed at this point. So no worries, guys, just step away from your computers or mobiles devices, go to the nearest bathroom, steal the nearest razor, and shave, shave, shave.

And for those like myself who lack the ability to grow a sweet moustache, you can still support the movement by chipping in a few bucks at the Made Men Are Mo’ed Men team page. Thanks for listening, and visit our Mo’ Bros at MadeMan.com to keep up with the latest in Movember-related news and events!

CagePotato PSA: Movember 2013 Is Upon Us!

(Nick Offerman’s Great Moments in Moustache History, via Made Man)

For most of you, Movember needs no introduction. For the rest of you, listen up: Every November (henceforth referred to as “Movember”), millions of men around the world grow out their moustaches in order to raise awareness for men’s health issues including prostate and testicular cancer, as well as mental health issues. These mo’d men — along with the female “Mo Sistas” in their lives — act as advocates and fundraisers, and have raised $446 million since the annual event’s inception in 2003. You can learn more about the cause at us.movember.com.

In the past, CagePotato has done its part to spread the word and collect cash. This year, we’re supporting our friends at Made Man, who are going all-friggin’-out for Movember awareness with a month’s worth of high-quality moustache-related content, including a grooming guide, a high-stakes man-cation contest, and live events. Swing by Made Man’s Movember HQ page today to check out their latest updates, and donate a few bucks to the Mo’ed Men fundraising team right here.

If you want to join the fight this year, register at us.movember.com, be sure to shave your grubby face on November 1st, tell your friends/family/co-workers why you’re doing it, and if you’re feeling really ambitious, start your own mo’nation team to collect funds for Movember. (What up, Karma!) Thanks for listening.

‘UFC on FUEL: Franklin vs. Le’ Fight-Picking Contest: The Winners!

(Bruce Lee would be pleased with your performance, but sort of disappointed about how much of your life you spend on the Internet. Images via Lancaster/Roots of Fight)

Let’s have another round of applause for Cung Le, who gave China its first-ever epic UFC punch-face on Saturday, then followed it up by scaring the crap out of cutman Don House. Only a handful of you predicted that Cung would knock out Rich Franklin during last week’s fight-picking contest, and only two of you thought it would happen in the first round, and that it would net Le a Knockout of the Night bonus. They were…

Blakethoria: Cung Le Defeats Rich Franklin via TKO @ 2:21 of round 1
KO of the night [Ed. note: The comments section of the fight-picking post is only displaying the most recent 25 comments for some reason, but believe me, it’s there.]
Sniffer-Piffits: Le def. Franklin via TKO @ 4:17 of RD 1, KO of the Night, bitch…..

Well, I don’t think the profanity was necessary, Sniffer, but nevertheless you and Blakethoria have won spiffy new Bruce Lee Movember t-shirts from LancasterLTD. Shoot your real names, sizes, and addresses to [email protected] and we’ll get you hooked up soon. The rest of you should consider buying one of Lancaster’s Movember tees. A portion of all sales benefit the cause, y’know.

Speaking of which: How are your moustaches coming along, anyway? Post photos of your mo’ progress on our Facebook page, and there might be a $50 StubHub gift card in it for you. And thanks so much for your continued donations to the Mo’Tato Nation team page!
