Muhammad Mokaev has only been signed to the UFC for a few days but is already laying out his plans for the future.

Mokaev is a two-time IMMAF junior world champion and a two-time European champion. Born in Dagestan but based in the UK, Mokaev has been one of the top prospects in MMA for a little bit now. He recently spoke about his signing and the expectations that he puts upon himself. (H/T mmajunkie.com)

“I’m really excited, but this is not my final destination,” Mokaev said. “This is part of my journey to become the greatest so my dream is to become the youngest UFC champion. I’m excited but at the same time, it’s not my final destination.”

To achieve this goal, Mokaev will have to move fast once he gets his first fight in the UFC. The youngest champion in UFC history was Jon Jones who reached the top of the division at 23 years old. Mokaev is currently 21 years old and will have to get through a stacked flyweight division to do it.

“Top five and be a contender for the title fight,” Mokaev said on his goals for 2022.”

‘The Punisher’ goes on to say that he would really like to make his debut on the rumored London card coming up in March of next year.

“I want to get on this card because first time in my life I watched UFC London in 2016,” Mokaev said. “My friend Rustam Khabilov was fighting on that card, and I went there and was like, ‘Wow, this arena is nice, I want to be here.’ It was O2 Arena and my friend got me a ticket there. I was competing in the morning in Wigan in a wrestling tournament and then at night time I went to London to watch UFC so this is something good for my background story. I want to be there if any opponent wants this hype, I’ll give it to them.”

When asked who he wants for his debut, Mokaev wasted no time calling out Cody Durden, who recently came under fire over his post fight comments following his win this past weekend.

“He apologized, but it’s wrong,” Mokaev said. “You cannot be like I’ll send him back (to China), this is the wrong mentality. He isn’t the greatest, he had four fights in the UFC and he’s old as well, 29 years old, whatever. I’m gonna make him retire and send him to America. I don’t find this as racism, it is in a kind of way, but this guy talks too much. Let me smash him for my UFC debut and when I ask my fans, my supporters said let’s go. If they want to see this, I will show them.”

Mokaev acknowledges that the UFC flyweight division is not a cakewalk but believes that he has what it takes to make to the top quickly.

“It’s not that they can throw a one-two better than me or they have special takedown defense or attack or some special triangle I have never seen in my life,” Mokaev said. “Everybody knows everything at this level. It’s about mentality. Like I said, I come from a tough background, so it’s about mentality. Who wants it more, who’s gonna push it when hard times are gonna knock and when there’s difficulties in weight cut, and which injuries are gonna get in your head.

“There are many factors that make a champion. Not just that he’s a better striker or he’s a better grappler. It’s way deeper than this. I would say there are some opponents I fought if I grappled them in the gym, that might be better than me, but in a fight, the mentality I have, nobody can beat.”

Newly-signed UFC bantamweight Muhammad Mokaev wants a former champion, Conor McGregor, to apologize for his slander against Dagestan.

Mokaev signed with the UFC just last week as an undefeated bantamweight prospect after a successful run in Brave CF. He adds another element to the already stacked UFC bantamweight division.

But Mokaev is already fitting into his new promotion but wants one of its biggest stars to apologize for their criticism of his home in Dagestan. McGregor has made a series of disparaging comments over the years about Dagestan, including accusing the Russian nation of promoting a culture of inbreeding.

During a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Mokaev aimed at McGregor.

“He’s sent me a message before wishing me all the best,” Mokaev said. “To be honest, I want to ask him about why he’s been talking about Dagestan. I want to see his energy. My manager and everyone says he isn’t the same as he pretends to be in the media. Business is good, but my people are my people. It’s not okay to call out the whole nation. There are bad people in Ireland too. So, you can’t say that and he has to apologize.”

Muhammad Mokaev Demands Apology After Conor McGregor Made Numerous Controversial Remarks About Dagestan

McGregor’s comments about Dagestan have escalated ever since the inception of his rivalry with former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov. In recent months, he has taken shots at Islam Makhachev and other Dagestanis along with the culture of the nation as a whole.

Coincidentally, McGregor and Mokaev are both represented by Paradigm Sports management. Mokaev is anticipating making his UFC debut sometime next year.

Mokaev is expected to be one of the most exciting prospects in 2022 but will look to confront McGregor regarding his disparaging comments about his home country.

The UFC signing former Brave CF standout Muhammad Mokaev might’ve been a surprise to many, but Mokaev has been preparing for this for years.

The UFC and Mokaev announced the roster addition yesterday, just weeks after Mokaev earned a dominant win over Blaine O’Driscoll at Brave CF 54. It didn’t take long for UFC President Dana White to take notice of Mokaev’s potential in the cage.

Mokaev joins the UFC as the youngest active fighter on the current roster at 21 years old. He has quite the backstory, having left his native Dagestan with his father in 2012 to pursue his MMA goals in the UK.

Mokaev recently shared a screenshot of a message he sent to White on Twitter three years ago, hoping to garner the attention of the UFC’s head man.

Muhammad Mokaev Adds To The Stacked Bantamweight Division

Mokaev adds another fascinating element to the UFC’s bantamweight division. He joins rising prospects such as Sean O’Malley and Song Yadong as the UFC’s future potential title picture at 135 pounds.

Mokaev has the chance to become the latest Dagestani to rise to stardom in the UFC, joining former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and current lightweight contender Islam Makhachev. He also joins the UFC from Brave CF, which is the promotion that welterweight star Khamzat Chimaev made a name for himself before joining MMA’s biggest platform.

The UFC has added another promising prospect to their bantamweight division, announcing the signing of the unbeaten Muhammad Mokaev.

Mokaev has quite the backstory in and out of the cage. In Brave CF, the Dagestani phenom earned three dominant wins, with the latest coming over Blaine O’Driscoll in September. He emigrated to the UK from his home country in Dagestan to follow the footsteps of his countryman, former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

After his mother passed away in 2012, Mokaev traveled to northern England with his father to start a new life. At that point, he posted a 4-0 pro record and an astounding 22-0 amateur record.

At 21 years old, he’s also one of the youngest fighters in the UFC, if not the youngest. Mokaev took to Twitter to formally announce his next career move.

Muhammad Mokaev has the chance to be the next UFC star from Dagestan

Mokaev’s addition to the UFC bantamweight division adds another talented prospect to the 135-pound roster. With competitors such as Sean O’Malley and others, Mokaev has the chance to surpass all of them with his strong grappling background.

Mokaev joins a growing list of Dagestani juggernauts to rise into the upper echelon of MMA promotions. He joins UFC lightweight contender Islam Makhachev and Bellator fighter Usman Nurmagomedov, to name a few.

The lone blemish on his record is a no-contest against Ibragim Navruzov earlier this year at Brave CF 51. After a dominant first few minutes of the fight, Mokaev landed an accidental groin kick and Navruzov was unable to continue fighting.

The bantamweight division from top to bottom is very stacked, and Mokaev could add another element of greatness to the roster. He’ll more than likely make his UFC debut sometime in the beginning of 2022.

Muhammad Mokaev is undoubtedly one of the most promising prospects in all of MMA right now.

The undefeated fighter is set to face Abdul Hussein on March 25th, at Brave CF 49.

Mokaev currently holds a 4-0 professional record. However, he also holds an extraordinary 23-0 amateur record, with wins over high-level opposition. Abdul Hussein will be Mokaev’s toughest test to date, with the Finnish flyweight holding 7 wins and only 1 loss on his record.

Mokaev recently took the time to sit down with LowKick MMA’s Frank Bonada, to discuss his upcoming fight, as well as his future in both Brave CF and the UFC.

Still only 20 years old, Mokaev has aspirations of becoming the youngest UFC champion of all time. Despite this, he still wishes to climb the rankings at Brave CF first. However, Mokaev see’s a UFC debut appearing in the not so distant future.

“This is my dream. There is a lot of money involved at the moment. With other organisations like Brave for example. But I’m not chasing money, I want to chase my dream. I want to chase my dream and I’ve got three and a half years to achieve this dream. So hopefully, maybe early next year you will see me there.”

Whilst Mokaev is currently focused on his career at Brave, he believes he is already at the level of the UFC flyweight elite.

When asked if he beleives he can stack up to the UFC elite, Mokaev had the following to say:

“Of course. Of course. I sparred, for example, with Jose Torres yesterday. Who was in the UFC. I’m not saying who won these rounds, but you maybe ask him. You can ask him… But sparring is sparring. Fighting is fighting. But you can ask him, can Mokaev be in top flyweight. I believe he will say yes. I spar with many guys around the world. I go to Tiger Muay-Thai a lot, and I see bantamweights. For example, I sparred with Petr Yan and these guys, and I believe I beat many top guys. Not even many, all of them.”

Mokaev also spoke about his upcoming fight with Hussein. Hussein will be Mokaev’s most experienced foe to date.

The young prospect does not believe that the Finn has the skillset required to best him. He stated the following:

“If you look at his record, I will be his toughest opponent. And I’ve had tougher opponents I believe. Yes, he did win world champions senior in IMMAF in 2016 in Las Vegas. And he has like 9-0 amateur. So it’s actually like similar careers. But the experience level is different. I did grapple with him in Tiger Muay-Thai in 2020. January actually. And he knows what’s up.”

“I believe I will stop him.”

Mokaev believes that his extensive amateur career, which saw him go on a 23 fight undefeated streak, has him better prepared than any other fighter in his division.

“In Brave, I’ve had good opponents so far. So I had 0-0, Glenn McVeigh. I had had Jamie Kelly, 3-0. And now we’ve got 7-1, so I’m always ahead. They have more experience in professional, but the amateur career behind me is way higher than them combined.

Muhammad Mokaev will fight Abdul Hussein on March 25th. Will you be watching? Let us know in the comments.
