Nate Landwehr scored his fifth career win inside the Octagon, putting away the always-game Jamall Emmers in spectacular fashion at the UFC Atlantic City on Saturday night.
Going into the bout winning three of his last four, ‘The Train’ looked to be in a bit of trouble in the early going as Emmers kept his distance and proceeded to piece up Landwehr for much of the opening round. With blood streaming from the left side of his forehead, Landwehr continued working to close the distance and landed a perfectly placed uppercut with 22 seconds left in the first.
With Emmers clearly compromised, Landwehr poured it on and sent Emmers crashing to the canvas. From there, ‘The Train’ only needed to unleash a couple of hammer firsts before referee Keith Peterson had seen enough.
Official Result: Nate Landwehr def. Jamall Emmers via TKO (strikes) at 4:43 of Round 1.

Nate Landwehr snapped rising prospect David Onama’s two-fight win streak at UFC on ESPN 41.
Going into the bout as one of the hottest stocks in the promotion, Onama was looking to extend his winning run with a victory over Landwehr, who was even with two wins and two losses in his last four outings. They clashed at the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Vera vs. Cruz at Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California.
Onama started off strong with relentless pressure. His striking abilities were on full display as he knocked down Landwehr with a crushing right hand in the first round. Landwehr rallied back in the second to land some big shots of his own. Onama appeared to have slowed down due to fatigue in round two and Landwehr took full advantage of that. Landwehr had a really close submission but Onama managed to slip away. After two thrilling rounds, both men gave their all inside the octagon in the final round.
Landwehr defeated Onama after going the distance by majority decision.

Slated to return to the Octagon this weekend in a high-profile UFC Fight Night San Diego co-main event, exciting featherweight contender, David Onama believes a barn burning back-and-forth with rescheduled opponent, Nate Landwehr is in store – following a prior failed March matchup.
Onama, who currently boasts an impressive 10-1 professional record, made his leap to the UFC back in October of last year, holding his own in a tough, back-and-forth bow against former duel-weight Cage Warriors champion, Mason Jones.
Scoring a pair of impressive finishes since then, Onama turned in a vicious and violent knockout win over Gabriel Benitez back in February – landing a first round strikes stoppage after a barrage at the fence.
Just last month, Onama stopped Garreth Armfield with a second round arm-triangle midway through the penultimate frame.
Previewing his upcoming co-headliner with Landwehr during a recent interview with LowKick MMA reporter, Alex Behunin, Onama praised the ability and excitement factor that the former M-1 Global featherweight titleholder brings.
“As an opponent, I think Nate (Landwehr) is very, very – he’s a tough fighter,” David Onama said. “The guy is very durable, man. He walks people down, he stays in your face. He fights. He’s one of those fighters who is hard to take out, you know. There’s fighters that you can take out easy, but he’s one of those who is gonna bang and he’s gonna let you know, ‘I’m here to fight’ – not just one of these guys who you’re gonna put out.”
“That right there excites me, ‘cause I’m the same f*cking way,” David Onama said. “I’m like, ‘Awh, f*ck, you like this sh*t? I like it too’. That motherf*cking style, I like that sh*t. I like fighting those tough guys, ‘cause if you’re a tough fighter, I’m also gonna be tough too, you know what I mean. … If I feel like you’re not where I’m at, or you’re not on my level, there’s not a competition there for me. … I can’t f*cking wait, man, it’s gonna be f*cking awesome.”
David Onama elected against providing a distinct prediction for the anticipated clash
Quite the animated character, Onama maintains he’s ready for the “intense” persona and style Landwehr brings – particularly at the pre-fight weigh-ins.
“I’m a ‘weigh-ins guy’, I love the weigh-ins more than fighting,” David Onama said. “Like, fight night, I love it too, but weigh-ins, that’s my sh*t. We gonna see, you know what I mean. I love weigh-ins, I love the matchup – it’s a great fight for me. I’m sure Nate loves it too because we’re both similar. And it’s a sold out show, man – that’s f*cking awesome, bro.”

UFC featherweight, Julian Erosa, in currently on his third tenure in the UFC, and is beginning to live up to the potential that has always been evident. Having already submitted the undefeated Sean Woodson, Erosa faced the ever-exciting Nate Landwehr at UFC Vegas 19.
In what was an exhilarating 60 seconds of pure violence, the two fighters clashed in an extreme battle of wills. Despite slipping to one knee early, Erosa got back up and forced Landwehr back. After a wild flurry of strikes from both fighters, Landwehr got clipped and backed up to the cage. This led to an extraordinary flying switch knee from Erosa, momentarily knocking out his opponent and forcing the ref to step in.
“I figured I was gonna be the quicker guy” said Erosa in regards to Landwehr. “I felt like I was outclassing him in every aspect of MMA, but I figured for sure that he was gonna be a tough durable guy. The only thing that really surprised me was the fact I was able to finish him so quick. That doesn’t surprise me on my end, but watching his fights, he’s a durable guy. He’s a tough guy and he likes to put the pace on people. Everything happened the way I figured it would, it just happened a little quicker than I thought it would.”
Whilst the fight only went 60 seconds before Erosa finished it, he was clipped by Landwehr early on and fell to one knee. He discussed how hurt he actually was in the following:
“I think it was a little bit of an off balance, as well as getting hit. I really wasn’t rocked. There was a slight hesitation that I had because of it. He didn’t flash me. He just hit me and I sort of fell over at the same time. Anytime something like that looks bad in a fight, or in training, it kinda lights a fuse and then I’m just going. It’s almost like the gun at a race. As soon as that happens you just take off sprinting, and thats kinda what happened. Everything was pretty technical and then that happened. Then it was just an all out brawl for about 15 seconds. Then I pushed him off me and hit that flying knee.”
In regards to Erosa’s future in the UFC, he had two names that he was especially interested in:
“I wanted to fight a guy like (Alex) Caceres, that’d be a fun fight. I wanted to fight Jordan Griffin, he’s kinda caught my eye as well. There’s a couple of guys like that who I would like to fight, and that I think would give me good fight and chase some bonuses down as well. Kinda have some fun. People are always talking about trying to chase a belt, but for me, fightings just something I love to do.“
“I asked my manager if Jordan Griffin wanted to fight me, and I never got an answer-back. With Caceres, I’ve always been a fan of his. I feel like me and he have two different striking styles, but they’re both entertaining. I feel like me and he would put on a good show for everybody.“
“Maybe we can fight in May or June.“
