Chaos” Colby Covington has been called out for his Donald Trump worship by UFC star Paddy Pimblett. Speaking in an exclusive interview with LowKickMMA and AceOdds, “The Baddy” did not mince words on his thoughts about Covington.

Paddy Pimblett on Colby Covington and Donald Trump

UFC welterweight Colby Covington has often taken photos with his idol Donald Trump when they are together at various golf courses. The US-born athlete has not been active in the octagon for some time as he asserts that he was campaigning with President-Elect Trump.

The next US President Donald Trump has long been a UFC and MMA fan. He even explained that his favorite fighters are Dustin Poirier and Khabib Nurmagomedov. Trump was vocally thankful for the support from UFC president Dana White.

The English-born UFC lightweight “The Baddy” Paddy Pimblett has noticed that Covington has been less active in the octagon and says that the American athlete should be embarrassed by his right-wing worship. In an exclusive interview with LowKickMMA, Pimblett explained:

“Colby Covington is a bad helmet. I’ll f***in punch Colby Carvington’s head. I will. I’m game to fight him. I’ll fight him at welterweight and I’ll f***in batter him.

“He’s probably talking all s**t in the video. He just sucks Donald Trump to the a***, doesn’t he? But I think he’s just doing that for publicity through Trump. Because he knows Trump’s going to be the president again. He’s just clinging on to Trump. Being a cling-on, when Trump doesn’t really care about him.

Pimblett is a former two-division champion in Cage Warriors and has been on a six-fight win streak in the UFC.

There aren’t many fighters that are able to arrive in the UFC and make an immediate impact by being loved or hated. Even fewer are able to then back it up inside the Octagon in order to make a real name for themselves in the sport.

Two fighters that have done that and continue to produce regular talking points are the biggest star in the history of the sport, Conor McGregor, and one of the most high profile names to follow on from “The Notorious”, Liverpool’s Paddy Pimblett. Pimblett has been openly critical of “The Mac” in the past but the two men ever meeting inside the Octagon seems unlikely.

That being said, Pimblett is continuing to defy expectations with his six-fight win streak in the UFC’s lightweight division which McGregor was formally the champion of. Given the huge profile’s of both men, there’s no denying that a fight between them would be absolutely huge if it even came close to happening.

Though both men have got their critics, it’s hard to argue with what McGregor has done in the sport as the UFC’s first-ever two-weight champion but that was a long time ago at this stage. As a result, a very experienced coach believes that Pimblett would have the advantage over the Irishman as of right now.

AKA head coach Javier Mendez previously cornered against McGregor in the biggest UFC fight of all time where he returned to face Khabib Nurmagomedov. In a recent interview with Canada Casino, Mendez stated that he isn’t confident that “The Notorious” is the same guy that produced some of the most memorable moments in UFC history anymore.

“Paddy and McGregor would be a great fight not just in England but the US too. It’d be a great fight, and I’d favor Paddy because he’s more of a fighter now and I’m not sure if McGregor is anymore. He may come back and prove us wrong but I favor Paddy because of where his state of mind is with fighting. We don’t know if he’s in or out. He might be fantastic in camp but I’m betting not based on what I hear in the inner circles, I’m betting he’s not taking it seriously.”

Former interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington is eyeing a return to action next year, and he has a couple of potential foes in mind.

Covington hasn’t appeared inside the Octagon since his third failed attempt at capturing undisputed gold on mixed martial arts’ biggest stage last December.

Having previously had his ambitions stalled by Kamaru Usman, Leon Edwards continued the trend against Covington at UFC 296 to record his second — and ultimately last — successful defense of the 170-pound belt.

“Chaos” put that result down to a broken foot sustained in the very first round. And although he targeted a return once healing from that this past summer, he most recently pointed to his work on the campaign trail for Donald Trump’s victory in the US presidential election as the reason behind his ongoing absence.

With that, the controversial UFC veteran now has his sights on an early 2025 return to active competition.

During a recent appearance on Submission Radio, Covington claimed that talks are ongoing over a potential showdown with Jack Della Maddalena in the first quarter of 2025.

While “Chaos” was surprisingly respectful when discussing the Australian, the same can’t be said when his attention turned to an option from outside his division…

“A fight that’s being talked about, this guy’s running his mouth a little bit, which is weird because every time I see this guy, he puts his eyes down and he walks past me like a little b*tch,” Covington said. “Now he wants to throw stones in the media. I don’t know if you’ve seen, Paddy Pimblett, he’s been throwing some stones.

“He’s been running his mouth in the media, saying, ‘I’ll go up to welterweight, I’ll fight Colby.’ Of course he wants to come up to welterweight and fight me or Conor (McGregor), the two biggest names in the UFC right now,” Covington continued. “He’d be honored and be lucky to get this fight. But I think we need to get it going. I don’t like when people talk big to the media and don’t back up their talk. … We need to hold him accountable for his words…stupid, dumb bowl cut.”

Pimblett has long expressed a firm dislike toward Covington, calling him out for the supposed persona he’s employed for much of his UFC career.

“The Baddy” was notably among the vocal critics of the American’s conduct at the pre-fight press conference for UFC 296 last December, during which he made unsavory comments about Edwards’ deceased father.

Paddy Pimblett Considers WWE Future After UFC Career: "Knock someone out with a sweet chin music"

Once he wraps up his UFC career, Paddy Pimblett sees a future in sports entertainment.

The Baddy’ has become one of the UFC’s most intriguing stars courtesy of his brash attitude and his ability to back it up, as proven by his spotless record inside the Octagon. Thus far, Pimblett is 6-0 under the UFC banner and recently broke into the lightweight top 15 with a stunning first-round submission victory over Bobby ‘King’ Green in Manchester earlier this year.

Pimblett has a ways to go before he earns himself a shot at the division’s top prize, but that doesn’t mean the Liverpudlian isn’t making plans for an eventual title run and beyond.

During a recent interview courtesy of OLBG.com, Pimblett revealed that he’d love to do something a little more dramatic once his days of strapping on the four-ounce gloves are over.

“Yeah [I could end up in the WWE]. I used to love wrestling. My favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and I’m dying to knock someone out with a sweet chin music in an MMA fight.

Paddy Pimblett wants to head to Hollywood after UFC

If you want to emulate a professional wrestler, ‘The Heartbreak Kid’ certainly isn’t a bad choice, but Pimblett isn’t stopping there. He later revealed that he’d love the opportunity to flex his acting chops in Hollywood one day.

“But I reckon I’m gonna end up in films. I’m gonna be an actor. I’ve just always thought about it. I always told people I was gonna be in the UFC for years. I’ve always loved films and I’ve always watched different TV programs, and when I was younger, when I was little, I did a little bit of acting stuff when I was in a few plays when I was a kid.

“So like I’ve always said that once my fighting career’s over, I’ll move over to acting and I’ll start doing that. And just by being in the UFC and stuff like that, I’ll end up getting a little job and then I’ll show that I can actually act and I’ll have a few more jobs.”

So what do you see in Paddy Pimblett’s future? WWE Superstar? Hollywood elite? Perhaps both.

Paddy Pimblett Insists He’d Beat Ilia Topuria Even After UFC 308 Victory: "Hand Sanitizer Boy"

Paddy Pimblett still thinks he can beat Ilia Topuria.

Defending his featherweight title for the first time since scoring a second-round knockout against Alexander Volkanovski in February, ‘El Matador’ delivered on his word at UFC 308, becoming the first man to ever KO ex-champion Max Holloway inside the cage.

Paddy Pimblett

It was a shocking turn of events and a star-making moment for ‘El Matador,’ but not everyone was impressed.

Reacting to Topuria’s 14th career finish and 16th straight career win, lightweight standout Paddy Pimblett was mostly dismissive of the performance and suggested that if Alexander Volkanovski doesn’t take the title back in 2025, he’ll be willing and waiting.

“Heavy. Hand sanitizer boy with the win,” Pimblett said on his YouTube channel. “Heavy. Well done, Ilia. Give you your due, lad. 16-0. Hand sanitizer boy. Can’t wait for him to come back up to lightweight. Still think I’d beat him. I really do. I still think I’d beat him, lad. Whether he’s just beat Max Holloway or not. I still think I’d beat him lad, by kicking him on the feet or taking him down and submitting him. I genuinely think I’d beat him. But, congrats Ilia Topuria, well done son, congratulations lad…

“Obviously, hand sanitizer knocked Holloway out. Didn’t see that coming, but give him his due, good finish. Max was the better boxer, but Ilia’s the better swinger, isn’t he? He ended up catching him with them big shots on the button, so congrats fella. Can’t wait for Volk to come back and beat you up. If he doesn’t, I’m willing to any time” (h/t Sportskeeda).

Paddy Pimblett and Ilia topuria’s rivalry goes back to 2022

Pimblett and Topuria have had a tense relationship with one another ever since the latter made some disparaging comments about Georgia, Topuria’s home country.

That sparked an altercation between the two at a 2022 event in London that both fighters were competing on. While crossing paths, Pimblett and Topuria needed to be separated by their camps. At one point during the incident, ‘The Baddy’ was spotted launching a bottle of hand sanitizer at Topuria, hence the nickname “hand sanitizer boy.”

Paddy Pimblett

In the time since, Pimblett has barely nudged his way into the lightweight top 15 while Topuria is sitting firmly on the 145-pound throne.

The chances of seeing them scrap anytime soon is pretty unlikely, but as they say in MMA, anything is possible.

Paddy Pimblett on Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul

UFC star Paddy Pimblett has shared his thoughts on the blockbuster boxing match upcoming between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul. ‘The Problem Child’ and ‘Iron’ Mike are set for a heavyweight showdown live on Netflix on November 15.

Mike Tyson

‘Iron’ Mike Tyson is one of the all-time great heavyweight boxers in history. He was feared for his thunderous power having won nearly all of his matches by way of knockout when he captured world titles as an unbeaten athlete in the 1980s. The US-born Tyson held on to his illustrious titles until his loss to Lennox Lewis in 2002. He has not fought professionally since a loss in 2005. Most recently, the 58-year-old faced Roy Jones Jr. in an exhibition match that ended in a draw in 2020.

Jake Paul

‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul was a popular figure on YouTube and managed to convert his fame into a blockbuster boxing career. Paul has made a name for himself by defeating former UFC athletes in the boxing ring. Some of his wins include Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, and Nate Diaz, among others. The 27-year-old has struggled against career boxers such as Tommy Fury.

Jake Paul

Paddy Pimblett on Tyson vs. Paul

Notable grappler and top 15 ranked UFC athlete Paddy Pimblett had some thoughts on the upcoming Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul boxing match. The English-born Paddy Pimblett called it a freakshow and barely gave the match any credence, calling it a stupid idea. In a recent interview, he explained:

“[Mike Tyson] was still an absolute unit when I met him anyway, and he wasn’t in shape then. He’s still an absolute brick shi*house. He’s just built like that. Now he’s in shape – but he shouldn’t be fighting at 58, it’s just ridiculous. It’s just stupid. He definitely doesn’t need to either. He’s got the money to not fight, so I just don’t understand why they’re doing it.”
