After testing out her skills in the Octagon, the squared circle, and the boxing ring, ’12 Gauge’ will try her hand (literally) at Power Slap, Dana White’s controversial pet project that some have described as nothing more than sanctioned brain trauma.

As announced during Saturday’s UFC Saudi Arabia broadcast, VanZant will make her promotional debut on Friday, June 28 at Power Slap 8 when she meets Christine ‘The Edge’ Wolmarans.

With the event only days away, VanZant has been hard at work in the gym, getting her pimp hand strong as she looks to invade yet another combat sport.

After seven years of competing inside the Octagon, going 5-4 in the process, VanZant traded in her four-ounce gloves for a pair of hand wraps, singing with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship in 2021. Unfortunately, ’12 Gauge’ failed to live up to her million-dollar deal, losing back-to-back bouts against Britain Hart and Rachael Ostovich.

Last month, PVZ made her professional boxing debut under the Misfits Boxing banner, challenging reigning middleweight champion Elle Brooke at the MF & DAZN X Series 15 in Houston. Though she didn’t take another L, VanZant didn’t leave with the gold either.

After five rounds of action, the judges scored it a majority draw, paving the way for the two to run it back later this year.

But not before she tests her slapping skills in ‘Sin City.’

Paige VanZant is headed to Power Slap!

During the UFC Saudi Arabia broadcast on Saturday, CEO Dana White revealed that ’12 Gauge’ would be making her Power Slap debut at the Power Slap 8 event on June 28 against South Africa’s Christine Wolmarans.

It’s just the latest in a series of combat sports endeavors for the UFC fighter turned BKFC brawler. After seven years of competing inside the Octagon, going 5-4 in the process, ’12 Gauge’ signed a lucrative deal with Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

Unfortunately, ‘PVZ’ failed to live up to the hype, losing back-to-back bouts against Britain Hart and Rachael Ostovich inside the squared circle.

In May, she made her pro boxing debut, challenging Elle Brooke for the Misfits Boxing middleweight title. Though she didn’t lose, she didn’t take home the gold either as the judges scored the fight a split draw. VanZant is expected to rematch Brooke later this year.

But not before she tests out her open-handed slapping skills as a part of Dana White’s latest pet project.

Though Paige VanZant has struggled to find the win column in recent years, her toughness and durability are undeniable. In 16 career fights, she’s never been KO’d—a stat that could serve her well in this new venture.

Ex-UFC standout Paige VanZant made his professional boxing debut on Saturday night, squaring off with reigning and defending Misfits Boxing middleweight champion Elle Brooke at MF & DAZN: X Series 15.

After building an 8-5 record in mixed martial arts, VanZant made the move to bare-knuckle in 2021, coming up short in back-to-back fights against Britain Hart and Rachael Ostovich.

Now, ’12 Gauge’ will try her hand at the sweet science against X-rated film star and online influencer Elle Brooke.

Though she’s primarily known for her work in the adult entertainment industry, Brooke has proven to be a formidable foe in the boxing ring, amassing an impressive 4-1 record, including a third-round knockout of Andrea-Jane Bunker in January to claim the MF middleweight strap.

From the opening bell, Paige VanZant came out looking to establish her jab and use her reach advantage. However, Brooke did an excellent job of ducking her way in and unleashing her right hand, which caught PVZ clean near the end of the first, sitting down the former UFC star.

VanZant answered the referee’s count, but there was not enough time for Brooke to inflict more damage before the end of the round.

Coming out for the second, Brooke appeared to slow down a bit, allowing VanZant to climb her way back into the fight. ’12 Gauge’ didn’t put much on her punches, but the sheer volume was enough to make it a much more competitive round. The remaining rounds would be fairly competitive with Brooke gaining a clear advantage in the fourth with a nice variety of power strikes compared to VanZant’s love-taps.

After five rounds of back-and-forth action, we went to the scorecards where the judges would all but guarantee that a rematch between the two would be coming later this year.

Emanating from the NRG Arena in Houston, Texas, MF & DAZN: X Series 15 will feature a middleweight championship main event as Brooke, the reigning and defending titleholder, puts her belt on the line in Misfits’ first-ever female headliner.

Before the two blonde bombshells step inside the ring and make history in The Lone Star State, VanZant and Brooke stepped on the scale during Friday afternoon’s official weigh-in ceremony.

Competing under the Kingpyn and Misfits Boxing banners, Elle Brooke has amassed a solid 4-1 record, including her title-winning performance against Andrea-Jane Bunker in January. Thus far, all of Brooke’s boxing bouts have been exhibitions. Her scrap with VanZant will be the first professional fight of his career.

As for Paige VanZant, the social media sensation has a significant advantage over her opponent when it comes to experience. ’12 Gauge’ competed inside the Octagon from 2014 to 2020, earning victories over the likes of Felice Herrig, ‘Rowdy’ Bec Rawlings, and Rachael Ostovich.

Walking away from the promotion on a 1-3 skid, VanZant signed with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, making her debut in 2021. Sadly, things did not improve for ’12 Gauge’ as she lost back-to-back fights inside the squared circle. Though she has expressed interest in knuckling up for a third and likely final time, she has not locked down an official return date.

In addition to Elle Brooke vs. Paige VanZant, fans will also see the return of former NFL running back Le’Veon Bell as he takes on Canadian influencer Tristan Hamm, best known for his first-round shellacking of Rodney Petersen Jr. AKA ‘Not Logan Paul.’

Also fighting in the card is a name ONE Championship fans may recognize — Bi Nguyen. Going by the moniker ‘Killer Bee,’ Nguyen is one of the most accomplished fighters competing at the event, having 15 mixed martial arts bouts under her belt. With more than a decade of experience, Nguyen has gone toe-to-toe with some of the biggest names in women’s MMA, such as Stamp Fairtex, Jihin Radzuan, Ritu Phogat, Jenelyn Olsim, and Lin Heqin.

A war is brewing between former UFC fighter Paige VanZant and internet troll extraordinaire, Dillon Danis.

On Saturday, May 25 ’12 Gauge’ will step inside the boxing ring for the first time as she challenges influencer Elle Brooke for the Misfits Boxing middleweight championship at MF & DAZN: X Series 15.

During a recent interview with Misfits Boxing ahead of her promotional debut, VanZant was asked her thoughts on other mixed martial arts who have tried and failed to make a successful transition from the cage to the ring. In her response, PVZ specifically singled out Dillon Danis who delivered a wholly embarrassing performance against Logan Paul in October.

“Dillon Danis is not a fighter. He’s not a fair comparison…[Ben Askren?] Not a fighter,” VanZant said. “He’s a wrestler. Nate Diaz is great…Jorge Masvidal…I think a lot of people try to compare my career to UFC veterans who leave the UFC because they either get cut or it’s the end of their career.

“I left the UFC when I was, gosh, 25…I wasn’t 40. I didn’t have a hundred fights under my belt. I was still young in the career and young in my sport.”

Of course, it didn’t take long for Danis to respond to the negative comment from VanZant. But instead of delivering some garden variety combat sports trash talk, Danis suggested that he and ’12 Gauge’ had a secret tryst during a couple of trips to ‘Sin City’ together.

“How fast they forget! Haha, relax, Paigey baby, just because I didn’t wife you doesn’t mean you have to be petty. Don’t make me bring up our two trips to Vegas and ruin your marriage,” Danis wrote on X.

Paige VanZant goes hard at Dillon Danis

Taking exception to Danis’ insinuations, VanZant delivered a scathing response on social media, revealing the one brief and fairly awkward interaction the two shared during her time with the UFC.

“There’s a certain clown on Instagram named Dillon Danis trying to talk some sh*t and stir up some drama, so let’s f*cking go,” VanZant said. “Dillon, obviously I said you’re not a ‘real fighter.’ My bad. I triggered you. I understand I hurt your feelings. But instead of coming back and just talking sh*t about me, saying I’m not a real fighter, what did you do? You kinda f*cked yourself, right? You backed yourself into a corner because now you have to come up with proof of this alleged affair.

“The only time I ever remember seeing you in Las Vegas was at the UFC athlete retreat. You walked up to me in a bar, asked me to peg you in front of multiple other UFC fighters, and I laughed in your face. That’s not the definition of a relationship, is it? And stirring up drama on the internet to try and fight my husband, there are definitely better ways that you could handle that. He’s got three things you will absolutely never have: 1) a wife 2) friends and 3) a real MMA resume.

“So, Dillon, I’m sorry I hurt your feelings, but when you’re a piece of sh*t like you are, it’s pretty f*cking easy.“

Paige VanZant’s husband, MMA fighter Austin Vanderfor, also chimed in and suggested that if Danis wants to throw hands, he’s more than willing to oblige.

“Dillon, guy …,” Vanderford said on Instagram. “Let’s just fight. Paige’s comments seemed to upset you. We are the same weight. We can box or do whatever you want.”
