Former UFC fighter Paige VanZant is putting in the work ahead of her wrestling debut in All Elite Wrestling expected for later this year.
VanZant signed with AEW earlier this year to go with her current deal in Bare Knuckle FC. She had been involved with AEW with casual appearances in the promotion but is now diving headfirst into the world of professional wrestling.
During a recent Instagram post, VanZant showed off some of the training she’s been putting in ahead of her anticipated debut in the ring.
“HEY [AEW] PUT ME IN!!!!!!!!” VanZant posted. “Coach [Gangrel David Heath] and [CCW] have me ready for action. Ready for whoever you give me.”
After parting ways with the UFC following a first-round loss to Amanda Ribas in July 2020, she signed with BKFC and suffered losses to Britain Hart and Rachael Ostovich. She is planning on a return to BKFC later this year.
Despite her now busy schedule, VanZant has alluded to her desire to sign an extension with BKFC in the future. She’s still searching for her first win in bare-knuckle boxing.
A date for VanZant’s AEW debut has yet to be announced. It’s unclear who VanZant will face in her first professional wrestling appearance, but she seems ready for the challenges that come with this new venture.

BKFC star and former UFC women’s flyweight Paige VanZant has pinpointed the biggest perks of subscribing to her exclusive content website.
While she made her name inside the Octagon, where she threw down against the likes of current strawweight champion Rose Namajunas, Michelle Waterson, Tecia Torres, and Felice Herrig, VanZant’s prominence has only risen since she departed MMA’s biggest stage in 2020.
As well as signing a lucrative contract with the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, the 28-year-old has increased her fanbase through an active presence on social media, including the creation of her own adult content site and a carefree attitude when it comes to her posts.
During a recent interview with MMA Junkie’s Mike Bohn, VanZant admitted that successful social media promotion and posting have always come naturally to her, hence the fruitful beginning of her exclusive page.
Discussing the benefits of her personal site, “12 Gauge” cited the ability to communicate one-on-one with her as the biggest perk for those who choose to subscribe.
“I think my entire career, throughout the UFC early on, everyone said I was a master at social media. I still feel like I am. It’s definitely another—not a full-time job for me, it’s more to have fun,” said VanZant. “I get to communicate. The difference between regular social media, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Facebook—those are all things I do have and I’m very active on—this (personal site), it’s a select group of people that are paying for my time, so I feel like they get that one-on-one interaction.
“I get to talk to people personally every day, whereas on Instagram, and Facebook, and Twitter, I’m not able to respond to everybody, all the time,” VanZant continued. “So I find the balance really easy. It’s something I have a lot of fun with. In-between training sessions, I can get on there, and talk to people, and respond.”
VanZant Gives Advice For Other Social Media Influencers
While she’s perhaps never been able to reach the upper echelons in combat sports, despite showing early promise with a 3-0 slate in the UFC, VanZant’s falters in the cage and the ring haven’t prevented her from amassing a large following.
On Instagram, the Oregon native boasts over three million followers, which is more than all four reigning female titleholders in the UFC. With that in mind, VanZant is well placed to offer advice to those aspiring to become social media influencers.
“I don’t mind sharing (advice) at all,” VanZant said. “I don’t really have secrets. I feel like I don’t ever—my candle doesn’t dim by lighting someone else’s. For me, I tell everybody, ‘You have to post every day.’ I think it’s important to be as authentic as possible. Truly, be yourself, because otherwise, it comes off as corny or cheesy. People just wanna know the real you. That’s, I feel like, why I’ve had a lot of success.
“It’s me and my husband messing around on Instagram, or messing around on Facebook, or posting our lives. On my TikTok, you can see a lot of the funny things that me and my husband do… I also get to share my fight side, my fun, sexy side,” added VanZant. “For any girls that want to try to put their foot in, I guess, that exclusive content door, the link in my profile, you can go on there and there’s a link that says, ‘Create your own content site.’”
While her social media and exclusive content will no doubt continue to grow in the coming months and years, VanZant’s fighting journey isn’t finished yet. As well as recently signing with professional wrestling organization AEW, “12 Gauge” is set to return to BKFC action in London this summer.
Do you think that Paige VanZant can still find success in combat sports?
Recently signed to AEW, former UFC veteran Paige VanZant favors the wrestling crowd over an MMA audience. Last September, VanZant made her first appearance in AEW. The crowd went wild for her surprise cameo, and after a few more shows, VanZant officially signed to the wrestling platform in March. Wrestling is known to have some…
Wrestling is known to have some of the most hardcore fans. VanZant has experienced their massive energy every time she’s stepped in the ring.
In an interview with MMAFightingonSBN, she described the intensity she first felt from the AEW crowd and the advantage she believes wrestling fans have over MMA fans.
“The first moment we showed up to the arena, I could feel the energy from the fans, just how amazing the fans of pro wrestling are. They’re obsessed with it. And I thought that was just the coolest thing, to be in front of so much energy, people who are so passionate.
“And pro fighting fans are great. But sometimes they love you when they’re up, and they hate you when they’re down. Whereas I feel like the pro wrestling fans, they’re in for the long haul. They’re diehard. And I wanted to be a part of it.”
The hype surrounding a pro fighter can come crashing down once that first loss happens. At 8 wins and 5 losses as an MMA fighter, VanZant has certainly felt the sting of ridicule from angry fans.
But now, VanZant is looking onward. She has found a lot of happiness since leaving the UFC, both creatively and monetarily.
Although she is still contractually obligated to the BKFC, VanZant plans to make a strong push as a professional wrestler. She is currently training for her official in-ring debut and is excited to once again wow the fans.

In an embarrassing turn of events due to a booking mix-up at the airport, ex-UFC star Paige VanZant accidentally shared the existence of a sex tape she and her husband had made with the airline staff.
Taking to Twitter, ’12 Gauge’ shared that she was flying to Texas when she was asked to prove her identity before boarding. A booking had been made under her professional name VanZant and not her legal name after marriage, Paige Vanderford.
The bare-knuckle boxer had married Bellator star Austin Vanderford in September 2018 and chose to keep her maiden name based on her brand’s popularity with it.
Airport staff asked her to prove her identity in a bid to clear out the confusion of having booked under one name and carrying a passport reflecting another. VanZant’s plan to google her own name in front of the staff backfired when the first search result was an article reporting that she and her husband had made a sex tape.
During a Q&A session on social media earlier this year, VanZant was asked by fans if she and Vanderford would ever make a tape. She revealed that they had already made one before suggesting that she doesn’t intend to sell or share it with her fans.
VanZant also joked that her followers likely started looking for more information on the unreleased tape after reading her initial story. While she hasn’t outright dismissed the possibility of ever making the tape available, she seems content with sharing risqué photos on her members-only subscription site for now.

Former UFC fighter Paige VanZant isn’t done with MMA just yet despite having recently signed a deal with wrestling promotion All Elite Wrestling.
VanZant signed with AEW earlier this week after speculation ran rampant on her next career move. She most recently lost back-to-back fights in bare-knuckle boxing at BKFC against Rachael Ostovich and Britain Hart.
VanZant had a rough end to her UFC tenure with losses in three of her last four fights. Her last fight in the Octagon came against Amanda Ribas at UFC 251 when she lost via first-round armbar.
“I do want to do MMA still and I do see my future in MMA,” VanZant said. “I’m 27 years old. I’ve just been fortunate enough that my career got kick-started at a very young age. I’m not closing any doors.”
VanZant made her MMA debut back in 2012 at UWF 4, earning a split-decision win over Jordan Gaza. She would sign with the UFC in 2014 and earn three-straight wins for the promotion, including finishes over Alex Chambers and Kailin Curran.
While she would go on to pick up wins in the Octagon over the likes of Bec Rawlings and Ostovich, she failed to replicate the same success against elite competition. She was finished by the likes of Michelle Waterson and Rose Namajunas during the latter end of her time with the UFC.
Despite her recent struggles, VanZant is still young in her athletic career and has plenty of time to get things back on track. She’ll perhaps utilize her time in AEW to turn the chapter towards a potential return down the line to the top MMA promotions in the sport.

VanZant captivated the fans and the media when she burst onto the scene at 20 years old. After just one fight with the promotion, she became just the sixth fighter to land an individualized Reebok deal, with Dana White claiming she had the ‘it factor.’
By 2020, VanZant was ready to leave the UFC after going 5-4 with the company. Soon after her departure from MMA’s premier promotion, the 27-year-old signed a lucrative contract with bare-knuckle boxing outfit Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.
