Darren Till has praised UFC Middleweight Champion, Israel Adesanya after his dominant win against Paulo Costa at UFC 253 on Fight Island.

Till also set out his own path for a title shot against the last style bender in the same tweet he praised the champion in.

The number 6 middleweight contender, Till believes if he puts on a dominant performance in his next fight against the number 4 ranked middleweight, Jack Hermansson then he will have done enough to earn a fight against Adesanya.

Speaking to his 240,000 followers, Till said: ‘What a fight by the champ, he’s some striker. I have got to come back, beat Jack. Beat maybe one more, or if I beat jack badly… jump straight in & fight the champ!’ Till also believes he can beat Adesanya, explaining that if he works hard he can outstrike Adesanya by being quicker than him: ‘I do believe I can outstrike him if I’m faster… I have to work extremely hard now though. More than ever before!’

Till also continued his praise of Adesanya in a successive tweet in which he posted a picture of the champion with the caption ‘Champ!!!!.’

Till and Adesanya have been known to have a joke between the two of them. Both of the fighters have uploaded videos which they have DM’d to each other on Instagram. Recently Adesanya sent a video to Till asking if he was ‘going to show up to his next fight or will he have visa issues.’ referring to the Brit’s late trouble with getting into America before his fight with Kelvin Gastelum at UFC 244.

Darren Till last fought against Robert Whittaker at UFC Fight Island on the 25th July where he lost on a unanimous decision to the former Middleweight king. Till is next expected to fight against Jack Hermansson on December the 5th.

Will Darren Till ever get a Middleweight title shot and would he beat Israel Adesanya?

Israel Adesanya has gone in on the coach of Paulo Costa after beating the Brazilian in the UFC 253 main event last night.

Adesanya took exception to the pre-fight antics from his opponent who was being cheered on by Eric Albarracin who is most well known for his work with former dual-weight UFC champion Henry Cejudo.

Speaking at the UFC 253 post-fight press conference Adesanya explained that he knew Costa was going to try and give him a white belt and speculated that Albarracin was the man who concocted the stunt, he said.

“At the weigh-ins, that stare down. I could see it already. I knew what he was gonna do. I knew he had a black belt underneath his shirt, and I knew he was gonna try hand me a white belt. I know that’s the work of old cringe, little gremlin, little smeagle. He tried to throw it in my face and I swooped it with my left hand and I whooped his face with my right hand.”

Adesanya clearly wasn’t happy with the antics from Costa’s cornerman and took time out to slam Albarracin while talking to reporters after his emphatic second round win over Costa, he said.

“That little gremlin. The guy with the white glasses, the jizz glasses. All his little antics. He was the one who was HAM’ing it up at the presser. Anything ‘Borrachinha’ said (hysterically laughs) like a little b*tch, like a little girlfriend. He was the one, it was his idea with the whole black belt – white belt thing.”

The antics didn’t stop even on fight night as Albarracin continued to try and get a rise out of the champ even as he was in the Octagon ready to go to war.

“Even before the fight I could see him through the fence, my peripherals could see him through the fence trying to like (waves arms) he was doing this sh*t. Literally he was doing this sh*t (waves arms and laughs),” Adesanya explained. “What do you think I’m going to do? Focus on you? I’ve got a beast in front of me. Someone who is actually going to try and f*ck me up. This is bulletproof (points to head), this is bulletproof you cant get through this. I said something to him I can’t remember. He said, ‘we’re coming for you and I said something like na I’m c*mming on you.”

Do you think Eric Albarracin stepped over the line while trying to get in the head of Israel Adesanya pre-fight?

The nearly men of UFC 253 have both issued statements after coming up short in their respective title bouts.

In the main event, Paulo Costa was dominated by the reigning middleweight king, Israel Adesanya before being stopped in round two of their fight. The previously unbeaten Brazilian never really got going in Abu Dhabi last night. He ate countless leg kicks before ultimately succumbing to a beautiful shot upstairs which was expertly followed up by ‘Stylebender’.

‘Borrachinha’ took to social media immediately after his first-ever professional loss and vowed to return stronger than ever.

Reyes came up short in his second straight title loss. ‘The Devastator’ previously fell to defeat in controversial fashion when facing Jon Jones at UFC 247. The Mexican-American fought well but ultimately lost a unanimous decision despite many spectators believing he did enough to dethrone the champ. Things where much more clear cut in his second defeat of 2020. Reyes got caught and finished by Jan Blachowicz in the second round of their light-heavyweight title. The title recently vacated by Jones who is set to move to heavyweight is now heading back to Poland with Blachowicz.

The 30-year-old was all class in defeat. Reyes first took to Twitter to react to his loss at UFC 253, he wrote.

“Well fuck! Gotta pull the trigger!!! Nothing left to do but get back up. Congrats to Jan, hell of a performance. #UFC253 #justgettingstarted

Reyes later posted on Instagram where he again congratulated his opponent and thanked a whole bunch of people, he wrote.

“Not all gods lessons feel good. Thank you to @danawhite @ufc for the opportunity. Thank you to my team and all my supporters I’ll come back stronger and better @mcec_wellness @zignummezcalusa @toyotires @manscaped . I love this game and will continue to grow. Much love and huge congrats to Jan hell of a performance! #ufc253 #rebuild

Jon Jones goes on twitter tirade, takes aim at Costa and “his” Light-Heavyweight belt

Former UFC Light-Heavyweight champion Jon Jones remained active on Twitter during UFC 243 sharing his input on both title fights even questioning if he should return to the light-heavyweight division in search of his belt.

The Light Heavyweight title now belongs to Poland’s Jan Blachowicz after his second-round stoppage victory over former title challenger Dominick Reyes.

Jones began his commentary during the fight simply tweeting a “Weird Right” referring to having a Light-Heavyweight title fight without his name on the bill. The former champions tweets then turned to a play by play of the action beginning with complimenting Blachowicz for his first-round performance. “beautiful first round by Jan” Jones said. This was shortly followed by some analytical work by Jones stating that the left kick to the body seemed to be open for Blachowicz as well as highlighting that he was forcing Reyes to strike first.

Following Blachowicz’s finish of Reyes, Jones posted a variety of tweets criticizing his former opponent.

Following this slew of remarks and a compliment to Blachowicz Jones shared that he would be going to sleep, a statement that proved to be false as the main event for the Middleweight title between Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa began.

Jones’s Twitter remained active through this title fight beginning with him questioning something on the body of the Middleweight champion before criticizing Costa for his antics inside the ring.

The former Light-Heavyweight champion was not done there posting after Israel Adesanya defended his title defeating Costa via TKO, a sighing emoji as well as a message to the failed title challenger.

Currently, Jones has nothing scheduled, however, after vacating his Light-Heavyweight belt earlier in the year, the former champion remains set on challenging for a new title in the heavyweight division.
