The UFC may be the largest MMA promotion in the world with the best stable of talent, but there are a multitude of world-class fighters competing in other organizations scattered over the globe.

Fighters like Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem and Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez are often listed in the top five of their respective divisions, and neither guy has ever stepped foot inside the Octagon.

As UFC president Dana White continues his campaign for global expansion, there is a great chance that some of the names on this list will one day compete under the bright lights of the UFC.

If you call yourself a hardcore fan, there shouldn’t be many surprises on this list. If not, this list should serve as your guideline and get you up to speed on top fighters who are rarely noted.

Former UFC middleweight contender Nate Marquardt is not included on this list, as he has yet to fight outside the UFC since being released from the promotion.

UFC 134 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is one of the most anticipated fight cards of the year, if not the last couple of years.

Brazil hasn’t hosted a UFC card since October 16, 1998, when Vitor Belfort set the world on fire with his 44-second knockout of Wanderlei Silva.

The buzz around this card is incredible, as nearly every Brazilian on the roster was seemingly asking for a fight in front of their home country.

Even Royce Gracie was begging to be put on the card. There isn’t a single fight on UFC 134 that doesn’t involve at least one Brazilian fighter.

The card really only had one option on who should headline the comeback event.

That man is of course Anderson Silva. Silva has dominated the UFC since he first stepped into the octagon, and he looks to avenge one of his four defeats when he takes on heavy underdog Yushin “Thunder” Okami.

Five reasons may be too many, as all you really need is Anderson Silva, but I’m going to go ahead and give you some more, just to get you even more excited for this historic event.
