There aren’t too many rematches in MMA, but when there is, there is usually a lot more anticipation for them than the first time around.

Depending on how the first fight ends, it’s a likely result that a rematch will occur if one fighter does just enough to get by the other or wins a controversial decision.

In other cases, a fighter may get beaten decisively in the first fight but rebuild himself back up to challenge the one who beat him. More often than not, it results in the same guy losing again and sometimes even more decisively.

Some things must be taken into consideration when determining which fighters produced the best two-fight blowouts in MMA history.

First, a finish is always favored over a decision. The sooner, the better. Quality of opponent is also taken into consideration.

Second, the second fight is weighed more heavily than the first so if the winner comes back and wins the rematch more decisively, it counts more than the other way around.

Remember, the fighter has to be 2-0 against their opponent. Trilogies where one fighter is 2-1 against the other will not be included.

Some fighters possess the quality of being able to entertain, excite and thrill fans with their performances. Whether it is with their sheer determination, heart and will to win or their natural talent, different fighters excite us in different ways.

The fighters who appear on this list are some of the most exciting fighters to ever step foot inside the octagon and have made a living out of entertaining millions of people.

In fact, some fighters’ determination to entertain fans far exceeds their desire to win. Wanderlei Silva is a prime example.

I have not ranked the fighters in any way because such a list is purely subjective. Even If I was to rank the fighters, there would be some bias even if I did try my best to eliminate it.

Therefore, I am challenging you, the MMA fans, to rank your 10 most exciting fighters in the comments section, and I will attempt to rank these fighters in the future while bearing in mind the general consensus.

So without further ado, here are the 40 most exciting fighters competing in the UFC today.

Ben Henderson has looked phenomenal in his two bouts in the UFC.

At UFC 129, he faced Mark Bocek in his debut and while it appeared close at first, Henderson was clearly the more dominant fighter winning the decision and being setup against Jim Miller, who was arguably next in line for a title shot with a win.

His fight with Miller was not only the biggest win of his career, but it was also his most impressive performance as well. He truly let everyone know at 155 pounds that he is the real deal and that he is coming for that title.

The lightweight division has a big question mark on it in terms of who is ranked where for a title shot.

Pettis was the No. 1 contender but since Edgar and Maynard went to a draw, a rematch was announced and Pettis decided to take the fight with Guida, which he lost by unanimous decision.

Jim Miller was up next, but as everyone saw the other night, he was demolished by Ben Henderson.

After Edgar and Maynard, it appears that the top guys are: Clay Guida, Melvin Guillard, Dennis Siver, Ben Henderson, Donald Cerrone, Jim Miller and Anthony Pettis. There are a few guys who are knocking on the door, but overall those are your top guys.

Ben Henderson and Melvin Guillard appear to have the most momentum riding with them and with Guillard fighting Joe Lauzon next, what are Ben Henderson’s options?

It seems that most of the UFC’s weight divisions have a pretty knotty pack of contenders at the moment. In some cases, the logjam might loosen up with several title fights coming in the second half of 2011, and in others it might get a little tighter before it gets better.

So who are the top contenders in each division, and what are their chances of securing the belt? In this list, I’ve taken the top three contenders from each weight class and assigned the percentage chance I think each one has to dethrone the current champ.

These fighters are listed by weight class and are not necessarily “ranked” against one another. Also keep in mind that this is not meant to list every single contender and the percentages are obviously going to be arbitrary. Other than that, it should all be self-explanatory. Happy reading.
