The next UFC bout for Raul Rosas Jr. will take place at The Sphere in Las Vegas, as the bantamweight top prospect will be featured at Noche UFC for the second straight year.

As announced by his management team, Iridium Sports Agency, Rosas Jr. will take on Aoriqileng at UFC 306 on September 14.

Rosas Jr. was in action just last month at UFC Fight Night Louisville, defeating Ricky Turcios. It was the 19-year-old’s first fight since competing on the inaugural Noche UFC card in September 2023, where he needed just 54 seconds to finish Terrence Mitchell.

“El Niño Problema” is 3-1 in the UFC since earning a contract on Dana White’s Contender Series.

Raul Rosas Jr. To Face Aoriqileng At Noche UFC 2

Aoriqileng, meanwhile, was last in action this past February, with an unintentional groin strike resulting in his fight with Daniel Marcos ending in a No Contest. He has won three of his last five fights.

UFC 306, branded as “Riyadh Season Noche UFC 2,” is expected to be headlined by Sean O’Malley defending the bantamweight championship against Merab Dvalishvili.

Also expected for the card is the next women’s flyweight title defense for champion Alexa Grasso. She’s long been expected to face divisional legend Valentina Shevchenko following their stint as coaches on The Ultimate Fighter this year. After Grasso’s upset win at UFC 285, the two headlined last year’s Noche UFC card, with their main event ending in a controversial draw.

UFC CEO Dana White told Pat McAfee recently that UFC 306, a one-time UFC event to be held at the new Sphere in Vegas, is expected to have 10 fights booked for it.

Raul Rosas Jr. is confident he will break Jon Jones’ record of becoming the youngest UFC champion.

Rosas Jr. is currently 3-1 in the UFC and is just 19 years old. With the Mexican-American being just 19, he believes he has a case of beating Jones’ record and becoming the youngest UFC champ. Of course, ‘Bones’ set the record at 23 years old, giving Rosas Jr. over three years to accomplish the feat.

“It’s always been there,” Rosas Jr. said on The MMA Hour. “I did take that loss, and it did set me back a little bit, but I knew I was going to be back, and, you know, it was nothing.”

Raul Rosas Jr. currently does not have his next fight booked, but he believes he is a win away from a ranked opponent. Once he’s in the rankings, Rosas thinks he can make a quick rise and become a UFC champ in two years.

“It depends,” Rosas explained. “Sh*t, let me see, if I get another fight this year, I’m thinking if I win, if I don’t get a top-15 [opponent] next, I think winning the next fight will get me a [ranked opponent]. Then [I’ll likely be] fighting three fights in the top 15, so probably two, three years it will take me [to become champion]. It’s always been the main goal, but I’ve got four years to break it. I think I can make it happen.”

Raul Rosas Jr. takes aim at Ricy Turcios

Raul Rosas Jr. is coming off a submission win over Ricky Turcios back at UFC Lousiville last weekend.

It was a solid performance from Rosas Jr., but after the fight, he took aim at Turcios for his comments after the fight.

“I was like, ‘You disrespected me first though, you know?’” Rosas Jr. said at the post-fight press conference (via MMAJunkie). “You disrespected me by over here saying that I pulled out, this or that. He was like, ‘No, you disrespected me first by breaking the Bushido code,’ or whatever. Then I was like, ‘Bro, you know that’s something I couldn’t control. You know I was sick.’

Raul Rosas Jr.

“And he told me that he was sick as well. He told me he had staph this week, his knee, whatever, whatever. But you know, hopefully, he doesn’t use that as an excuse. That’s the reason I didn’t step out in Mexico City, because if I would have stepped out in Mexico City, I wasn’t going to bring it up that I was sick. If I had lost in Mexico City, I was going to leave it at that… If he was really sick and had staph and went out there, I think that was just a dumb decision. I didn’t do that.”

Rosas Jr. is currently 9-1 as a pro and is on a two-fight winning streak.

Bantamweight division upstart, Raul Rosas Jr. is now riding a two-fight winning run for the first time in his Octagon tenure off the back of tonight’s submission win — laying waste to Ricky Turcios with a second round rear-naked choke at UFC Louisville in the pair’s main card clash.

Rosas Jr. — a product of Dana White’s Contender Series, initially made good on his landing in the organization, turning in a dominant submission win over Jay Perrin — before dropping an upset loss to Christian Rodriguez over the course of three rounds in a decision blemish.

Rebounding to winning ways back in August of last year, Raul Rosas Jr. matched up with Terence Mitchell, needing less than a minute to score a TKO win from ground strikes.

And re-matched with Turcios tonight in Kentucky, Rosas Jr. — who has been touted as a significant future talent, was forced to defend a taut rear-naked choke in the first round, before almost locking up his own win in the same frame.

However, afforded the opportunity to take Turcios’ back for a second time in the second round, Rosas Jr. locked on a body triangle and eventually forced a tap — turning in yet another rear-naked choke submission triumph.

18-year-old bantamweight prospect, Raul Rosas Jr. has successfully rebounded from his first promotional loss in spectacular fashion tonight — defeating Alaska native, Terrence Mitchell in just 54-seconds of the opening round of their main card clash at Noche UFC, landing a first round TKO stoppage win.

Rosas Jr., who saw his brief promotional-perfect run come to a halt last time out, dropped a one-sided decision loss to Christian Rodriguez at UFC 287 back in April.

However, turning to the tide back in his favor tonight, Rosas Jr. — a dynamic bantamweight prospect managed to blitz through the above-mentioned, Mitchell in the latter’s sophomore Octagon walk, landing a 54-second victory via way of knockout to land his second Octagon win since landing in the Dana White-led organization from the Contender Series.

And off the back of another stoppage win inside the Octagon, Rosas Jr. urged UFC leader, White to ink another Performance of the Night bonus with his name on it.

Highly-touted Mexican prospect Raul Rosas Jr. doesn’t want to hear sh*t from any UFC fighter unless they’ve got a title wrapped around their waist.

‘El Nino Problema’ burst onto the mixed martial arts scene last year, competing on Dana White’s Contender Series despite being just 17 years old at the time. Rosas Jr. scored a unanimous decision over Mando Gutierrez, earning himself a contract with the promotion. Three months later, the hype train officially left the station when Rosas Jr. landed a first-round submission against Jay Perrin in his promotional debut at UFC 282.

However, at UFC UFC 287 earlier this year, his hype hit a slight snag after Rosas Jr. suffered a unanimous decision loss at the hands of Christian Rodriguez. Many assumed that being dealt his first defeat would help humble the outspoken teenage phenom. Unfortunately, that does not appear to be the case. In an interview with FULL SEND MMA, Rosas Jr. revealed that he is now out of high school, allowing him to focus on the sport full-time. He also had a few candid words for fighters who have not quite reached the top of their division despite dedicating their lives to MMA.

“Now it’s gonna be pretty amazing, being out of high school and being able to put my all into the sport,” Rosas Jr. said. “A lot of fighters were talking sh*t, but all I wanted to say to all the fighters talking sh*t, I don’t want them talking sh*t if they don’t got that belt.

“It’s pretty upsetting when they been dedicating all their life into this sport, these UFC fighters, all they do is fight for the UFC. So they got nothing to do but train, and still can’t be the best at it,” Rosas Jr. continued. “So don’t come talking sh*t to me if you’re a UFC fighter and you’re not a champion. That’s all you do, bro, and you can’t be the best at the only thing you do” (h/t MMA News).

That definitely sounds like something an 18-year-old kid would say.

Pushing his youthful ignorance aside, Raul Rosas Jr. is a legitimate prospect in the world of combat sports. Turning pro a month after his 17th birthday, he embarked on a journey that ultimately led him to an undeniably impressive 5-0 record before getting his opportunity to shine on DWCS. And despite the one setback, ‘El Nino Problema’ has lived up to his nickname, boasting an 85% finish rate with five submissions and one win via KO.
