Brittney Palmer’s Husband Charged With Attempted Murder Following Struggle in LA Home

The life of a ring girl is a surprisingly mysterious one, as we’ve come to learn, chock full of tumultuous relationships, betrayals, and secret double lives a pornstars. Being tasked with maintaining such a flawless physique and appearance on a 24/7 basis creates a kind of powder keg situation in the workplace, which unfortunately, usually explodes long after the octagon-shaped cards have been put down. In short, there’s a reason that Showgirls was the massive box office and critical success that it was, and it’s because it resonated with us.

That being said, this report coming out of Los Angeles involving longtime UFC octagon girl Brittney Palmer is easily the most insane/disturbing piece of ring girl news we’ve ever seen.

That being said, this report coming out of Los Angeles involving longtime UFC octagon girl Brittney Palmer is easily the most insane/disturbing piece of ring girl news we’ve ever seen.

According to (ick) TMZ Sports, Palmer’s husband, finance expert Aaron Zalewski, was arrested on attempted murder charges last night following a scuffle with Palmer in their Los Angeles home last month.

In docs obtained by TMZ Sports … LAPD says things got physical when they wrestled for her phone — Zalewski noticed she was recording the argument, and during the struggle he threw Palmer, and she hit her head on a bedpost.

Brittney told cops Zalewski yelled, “Pack your f**king bags and go!”  – but wouldn’t let her leave. She says he threw her down again — pinning her face down on a mattress, with his knee in her back. She says she struggled to breathe for 2 minutes while he held her down.

And there’s this — Brittney says during the fight Zalewski scratched his own arms and yelled … “Why are you making me do this? I just wanted you to love me.”

Jesus, that is some Marky Mark in Fear-level craziness right there.

Thankfully, Palmer managed to escape their residence and immediately called the police. Zalewski was then charged with attempted murder, spousal battery, and criminal threats, but was released on $1 million bail the next day.

Our heart goes out to Brittney right now, and we’ll continue to keep you updated as information is made available.

Big ups to our buddies over at Questionable Stoppage for turning us on (no pun intended) to Jess Mao, a 28 year-old model/ring girl for several Bay area promotions including Arius and Gallus FC. Mao recently sat down for an exclusive interview and photoshoot with QS, where she briefly touched upon her hectic childhood, her current training regimen at American Kickboxing Academy, and what led her to get involved in MMA in the first place.

Hot Potato: Photos of the UFC’s New, Filipina Ring Girl, Red Dela Cruz

Yesterday’s Fight Night 66 media day workouts was a landmark occasion for a variety of reasons. Not only did it kick off the UFC’s first ever trip to the Philippines ahead of this weekend’s fight between Frankie Edgar and Urijah Faber — which is being hailed as “the closest thing to a superfight we’ve had in some time” (!!!!) — but it also set the stage for the UFC to introduce its first-ever Filipina ring girl. Please, try and contain your excitement.

That ring girl was none other than Red Dela Cruz, a popular Filipina model and PXC ring girl who was chosen from a pool of a couple hundred applicants as part of the UFC’s Asia Ring Girl search. Hot Potato: Meet Summer Daniels, Bellator’s New Ring Girl ‘Direction’ [15 Photos]

Last month, we shed a tear at the news that Bellator had cut ties with beloved ring girl Jade Bryce, who explained that the promotion has “chosen to go in a different direction for the new year.” Well, today we learned what that “direction” was. Bellator has announced that model/singer Summer Daniels has been hired as the new ring girl for Bellator, and she’ll be making her debut this Friday at Bellator 132: Pitbull vs. Straus in Temecula, CA.

Summer’s biggest claim to fame is that she’s the only woman to appear on the cover of Hustler without getting nude inside the magazine, which is a pretty impressive achievement, I guess. The Malibu-based model also has a lot of experience doing live promo and ring girl work, including gigs as a Monster Girl (with longtime Bellator babe Mercedes Terrell) and as a Corona Girl.
