Ryan Bader finishes Fedor Emelianenko to win the vacant Bellator heavyweight title, which means that he made history as he’s now a two-division champion.

This fight served as the headliner of Bellator 214 on January 26, 2019 at The Forum in Inglewood, California on Paramount Network and DAZN. In round 1, the light heavyweight champion dropped him with a left hook and Fedor was out on his feet. Bader followed up with a right hand for extra measure to win the heavyweight tournament final.

Bellator MMA finally crowned its new heavyweight champion, which has been expected for some time. Thus, the Viacom-owned promotion brought back a tournament to find their heavyweight champion.

The company had been without a heavyweight champion since the title was vacated by then-champ Vitaly Minakov. It all went down once Bellator decided to strip him of it in May of 2016 for failing to defend the title.

The main event of Bellator 207 (October 12, 2018) at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut saw Bader score a decision win over Matt Mitrione. This served as a heavyweight grand prix semifinal bout. Before this fight, Bader picked up a first-round knockout victory over Muhammed Lawal in the quarterfinals of this tournament at the Bellator 199 event on the Paramount Network at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

On the flip side, Fedor beat Chael Sonnen on at Bellator 208 at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, New York by first round TKO. Before this, in the main event of the Bellator 198 event at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois, on the Paramount Network, the MMA legend finished former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir. It happenend through strikes in the first round. This bout served as the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix quarterfinal bout. Emelianenko is a historic figure in the history of the MMA game and no doubt an MMA Legend.

Bellator 214 betting odds are out as the event is here, and it goes down tonight (Saturday, January 26, 2019) from the Forum in Inglewood, California. The preliminary card will air online at 7:00 pm EST while the main card will air on Paramount Network and DAZN at 9:00 PM EST.

Fedor Emelianenko vs. Ryan Bader in a heavyweight bout for the vacant title will serve as the headliner. Aaron Pico vs. Henry Corrales in a featherweight bout will serve as the co-headliner.

Rounding out the five-bout card is Jake Hager vs. JW Kiser in a heavyweight bout, Juan Archuleta vs. Ricky Bandejas in a bantamweight bout, and Brandon McMahan vs. Adel Altamimi in a featherweight bout.

According to oddsmakers, Bader is a -170 favorite over Emelianenko, who is a +130 underdog. Other odds for the main card include Henry Corrales being a +365 underdog against Aaron Pico, who is a -555 favorite.

Fedor Emelianenko and Ryan Bader will headline tomorrow’s Bellator 214 and both men will cash six-figure paychecks for their efforts.

The Forum in Inglewood, Ca., will host the event that will crown both the World Heavyweight Grand Prix winner and a new heavyweight champion. Fedor will bring home a flat rate of $300,000 for his efforts while Bader will cash the only other six-figure payday on the night at $150,000 (flat rate). (h/t MMA Fighting).

Aaron Pico will look to take the next step in his meteoric rise, he will earn a $45,000/$45,000 show/win split. Pico will be facing his toughest test to date in the MMA Lab’s Henry Corrales. Corrales will bank a $35,000/$35,000
show/win split.

Former professional wrestler Jack Swagger, whose real name is Jake Hager, will make his “real” fighting debut in a feature main card bout. Swagger will make a flat $50,000 for his new vocation. His opponent, J.W. Kiser, will earn $7,000/$7,000.

Juan Archuleta will net a flat $25,000 while his opponent, Rick Bandejas, will bank a flat $30,000 for their bantamweight scrap. And kicking off the main card is a featherweight. For his part, Brandon McMahon will earn a $3,500/$3,500 show/win split. His adversary Adel Altamimi will bank $10,000/$10,000.
