Following his first round submission win over CM Punk at UFC 203 last month, Mickey Gall called out fellow top prospect Sage Northcutt for a fight. The UFC brass got wind of the call out and made the bout official at UFC on FOX 22.

Gall recently spoke with TMZ Sports about the fight and he had a lot to say about his opponent. According to Gall, he thinks this fight will go the distance and will not end in the first round like his previous fights have ended. Gall vowed to put a beating on Northcutt and break his bones.

“I’m gonna do a lot to him. I don’t see this one being one round. I see this being longer than that and I’m gonna break his bones. I’m gonna hurt him bad. I’m gonna bust him up, break his bones, tear things. I’m gonna put a beating on him…His boxing sucks. His ground game is pretty bad. So there’s holes on both sides. I know how I’m gonna fight him. It’s gonna be bad for him. He’s gonna feel like crap.”

Despite the trash talk, Gall made it clear that he doesn’t dislike him but thinks he is a dork and can’t wait to get his hands on him.

“I don’t dislike him. I think he’s very corny. I think he’s like a silly boy. I don’t know, I think he’s kind of a dork but I don’t hate him at all. I love him. I can’t wait to fight him, can’t wait to get my hands on him.”

Gall has said in previous interviews that they should have a stipulation on the line for this fight like a good ole pro wrestling match. Gall suggested a loser’s hair leaves town bet on their fight. It should be noted that Northcutt never responded to the challenge, but Gall says the offer is still on the table.

“Heck yeah, why not? I put it out there. I didn’t hear anything from him but hey, if I lose I’ll cut my hair, but I ain’t losing. You can see a bald blond boy.”

Gall thinks after winning a few fights, down the road, he’ll be UFC welterweight champion.

“I’m gonna be a UFC champion. I don’t know a timetable, those things are hard to say but eventually I’ll be UFC champion.”

UFC on FOX 22 takes place on December 17th at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California. No other bouts have been announced for the event.

Mickey Gall asked for CM Punk, and Mickey Gall received CM Punk.

Now, after calling out Sage Northcutt, the UFC brass has answered yet again, placing Gall and Northcutt on the UFC on FOX 22 card.

Gall (3-0) earned his second Octagon triumph last month when he defeated Punk in the first round. The youngster dominated the former WWE superstar, locking up a submission to remain unbeaten.

Northcutt (8-1) got back on track in July when he defeated Enrique Marin. “Super” had suffered his first career loss in January of this year to Bryan Barberena – the only other time he has fought at welterweight where the Gall contest will take place.

No other bouts have been made official for UFC on FOX 22, which takes place December 17 from the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California.

After some slight complications, the rumored battle between promising young prospects Sage Northcutt and Mickey Gall is official.

News arrived from ESPN today that Northcutt will face Gall at December 17’s UFC on FOX 22 from Sacramento, California; news that was soon confirmed by the promotion online.

The potential bout quickly became a hot topic in the UFC after Gall immediately called out Northcutt by calling him “corny” in his post-fight interview after he battered and submitted former WWE champion CM Punk at September 10’s UFC 203 from Cleveland. Northcutt was quick to accept on social media, but the bout had to be pushed back from a potential UFC 205 slot when Northcutt’s father revealed his son had a staph infection.

The win was 25-year-old Gall’s second stoppage in the UFC, but he’s faced highly inexperienced competition as of right now. Beating CM Punk obviously pushed his scope of recognition far more than years of grinding the regional circuits would have, so like Gall also said at UFC 203, now is the time when his real journey begins.

He’ll face no small task in Northcutt, who, while also being accused of facing less-than-stellar competition in his highly hyped run in the UFC, has still gone 3-1 against UFC-caliber competition since his Octagon debut last year. He most recently outlasted TUF: Latin America competitor Enrique Marin at July 9’s UFC 200, and his lone UFC loss remains at the hands of the underrated Bryan Barberena.

Both Northcutt and Gall, interestingly enough, were recruited to the UFC on Dana White’s “Lookin’ For A Fight” show. After submitting both Punk and Mike Jackson in his only two fights in the Octagon, Gall’s jiu-jitsu could pose problems for the more striking-focused Northcutt, as his only loss came to an arm-triangle choke many felt wasn’t even fully locked in.

UFC on FOX 22 still awaits a headliner and the rest of its card. The event will take place from the new Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.

Mickey Gall wants Sage Northcutt inside the Octagon.

After his win over CM Punk at UFC 203, Gall called out Northcutt. While he later stated that his initial “comments” were just his way of firing up the pot, it appears now that he is ready to trade insults with Northcutt.

Nothing like throwing a little “WWE” into your UFC fight after beating a former pro wrestling superstar.

Report: Sage Northcutt Unable To Fight Mickey Gall At UFC 205

24-year-old Mickey Gall picked up the third victory of his professional mixed martial arts career at last weekend’s (September 10, 2016) UFC 203 by destroying former professional wrestler CM Punk in the very first round of their main card bout. During his post-fight interview with color commentator Joe Rogan, Gall said that he was interested in fighting ‘killers’ from now on, specifically calling out fellow young gun “Super” Sage Northcutt for a clash at November 12’s UFC 205 from Madison Square Garden in New York.

UFC President Dana White was quick to comment on the idea, saying that Northcutt’s team was also interested in the fight and that the UFC would make it happen, although that doesn’t seem to be the case as of now.

According to Jonathan Shrager, who recently spoke with Northcutt’s father, Mark, “Super Sage” was never approached regarding the potential scrap and he’s also currently dealing with a staph infection and will be unable to compete at UFC 205:

Northcutt is coming off of a decision victory over Enrique Martin at July 9’s UFC 200, a win that extended his UFC record to 3-1. Prior to that, he had suffered a disappointing loss to Bryan Barberena last January. “Super Sage” has competed both at lightweight and welterweight, but as his father said, he’d be willing to meet Gall at 170-pounds when the time is right.

The bout certainly makes sense given the stage each fighter is at, but obviously Northcutt will need to return to full health before the two could sign on the dotted line.
