Despite the event having a solid main card and a light heavyweight title bout in the main event, people were not invested in watching the prelims for UFC 210. The viewership numbers for the event are in. The prelims, which were headlined by Kamaru Usman vs. Sean Strickland, drew 723,000, which is down from UFC 209 prelims that 1,033 million viewers.

UFC 210 took place on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. The prelims aired on UFC Fight Pass with four bouts at 6 p.m. ET and on FOX Sports 1 with four bouts at 8 p.m. ET. The main card aired on PPV at 10 p.m. ET with five bouts.

The pre-fight show drew 268,000 while the viewership numbers for the post-fight show were not made available and did not rank in the 150 shows on cable. The weigh-ins also did not rank in the top 150 shows on cable.

With the post-fight show not doing good numbers is a not a good sign for PPV buys as that meant that a lot of people were not interested enough to hang out and catch the results/highlights of the actual PPV main card after the event aired. Usually when a PPV event does a good/great PPV buyrate, then the prelims and the post-fight show does good viewership numbers.

The UFC returns to FOX Sports 1 this weekend with UFC on FOX 24 this Saturday at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The UFC Fight Pass prelims begins at 4:30 p.m. ET with five bouts then continues on FOX at 6 p.m. ET with four bouts. The main card airs at 8 p.m. ET with four bouts. A UFC Flyweight Championship match between current champion Demetrious Johnson and Wilson Reis will headline this event.

UFC Fight Night 210: 170lbs: Kamaru Usman Vs. Sean Strickland

TUF 21 saw Kamaru Usman (9-1) start and finish the show for the Blackzilans when he took out Michael Graves to start things off and then had Hayder Hassan tap out with an unforgiving choke in the finale.

We have seen Usman really establish himself as clear superior against the likes of Leon Edwards and Warlley Alves in his most recent fights. Of his professional victories, as many as five of them can be attributed to knock outs.

On the other hand, Sean Strickland rose to the ranks when he surprisingly and against all odds turned heads thanks to his defeat of the revered Bubba McDaniel. Furthermore, this victory came in Stricklands debut fight which really got him a lot of attention and the spotlight. He won with a submission. However, things quite have not carried on with the same sort of momentum, he lost his fight to Luke Barnatt, albeit the decision proved very controversial, and then he was defeated again by Santiago Ponzinibbio.

Since these two defeats, Strickland has come back strong with three back to back wins. His most recent fight and victory was against Tom Breese during UFC Fight Night 199.

Prediction – both fighters are well rounded and are mostly going to be cancelling each other out. The fight is going to be technical and a lot of it may be fought on the floor. Usman is brimming with confidence and we think he will come out the winner via a unanimous decision.

It may not have been the most hyped mixed martial arts (MMA) event of 2016, but last night’s (Sunday, February 21, 2016) UFC Fight Night 83 from the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, delivered a heavy-hitting mix of great fights and finishes that earned it a deserving recognition as a very solid under-the-radar event.

There was a great women’s bout between Lauren Murphy and Kelly Faszholz that earned ‘Fight of the Night’ on the Fight Pass prelims, while the fight right after it between Ashlee Evans-Smith and Marion Reneau resulted in yet another MMA scoring controversy that only furthered the backlash towards the scoring system in place and the judges present in Pittsburgh that made some head-scratching errors.

There was also the continued rises of a few strong up-and-coming stars, and another return of sorts as recent lightweight title challenger Donald Cerrone returned to winning ways with an impressive first round submission of late replacement Alex Oliveira. All in all, it was a strong card that continued the UFC’s strong recent efforts and will continue promotional momentum into the absolutely blockbuster events scheduled for two weeks to come.

Let’s take a look back at the five biggest takeaways from UFC Fight Night 83.
