Sean Strickland wants Belal Muhammad to know how excited he is to live out his desert fantasies with him.

Sean Strickland has swiftly developed a reputation as one of the more, shall we say, ‘eccentric’ members of the UFC roster. In recent weeks, all that eccentricity was reserved mostly for his original UFC 268 opponent, Luke Rockhold. After going on vulgar rants aimed at Rockhold and threatening parking-lot violence, Strickland is now pushing out of the parking lot and venturing out into the desert. And he wants to take Belal Muhammad with him.

After Rockhold withdrew from UFC 268 due to back injury, one of the names that stepped forward to be his replacement was Belal Muhammad. Muhammad called out Strickland, whom he deemed to be a “piece of trash,” and received one of Strickland’s expletive-laden responses for his efforts.

One thing Muhammad took particular notice to beyond all the F-bombs and the like was Strickland’s mention of rankings. Since Strickland has said in the past that he doesn’t care about the rankings or the world title, Muhammad found the “rejection” to be more of a “revelation” of the type of man Strickland really is. And he was sure to let Strickland know that in the following Instagram post.

“After his last fight, <macho voice>“Aw, man, I’m a bad boy. I wanna kill somebody in the cage! I wanna be the first person to murder somebody! Blah-blah-blah, blah-blah-blah. I don’t care about titles. I’m an airhead; I’m a moron.’

“Now, it’s <wimpy voice>  ‘Oh, I want to fight ranked guys that are above me that are gonna get me closer to the title shot. And if it’s possible, can I fight in my hometown?’ <sigh> I know you had that fake persona. You’re soft.”

Sean Strickland Talks Desert Fantasies With Belal Muhammad

After viewing Muhammad’s video, Strickland decided to throw out an outlandish request to his challenger. While Strickland still doesn’t view a fight with Muhammad inside the Octagon to be feasible, he feels the two can meet up in the desert instead to do only Strickland knows what (Video courtesy of Twitter user @Tranracialangel).

“Muhammad, you need to know something, man. The UFC will never let us fight unless I get fucked up or you come to middleweight and get ranked,” Strickland said on his Instagram Stories. “And honestly, man, I’ll give you an offer because I fuckin’ like you, dude. I think you’re fuckin’ funny. I laughed at your Instagram post. It’s fuckin’ hilarious. But I want to make you an offer.

“You’re gonna be in Vegas next week. Me and you, we can meet up in the desert, dude, and we can just do some weird shit together, dude. Because it’s so wild to me. This is something I’ve always fantasized about, you know? And you’re like a gazelle that wants to be a lion, and you’re accepting what I want to do to you. And, like, dude, I want to do some weird shit to you, man. Like, ah, man, it’s so exciting that you’re so OK with doing it. There’s some things I’ve fantasized about for a long time, and I feel like you’re gonna let me do it to you.”

Sean Strickland, ladies and gentlemen.

“If they need someone for Strickland I’m down I hate that piece of trash,” wrote Muhammad on Twitter.

Strickland responded to Muhammad on Instagram, “Listen, Belal Muhammad, I heard you’re running your fu–in’ mouth, dude. Last time you were in Vegas, I tried to spar you because I knew you were a little fu–in’ bi–h, and I wanted to hurt you. And it was a good excuse to do it. But now, with you fu–in’ running your mouth, next time I see you, I can just fu–in’ backhand you. Thank you for giving me the opportunity you little fu–in’ pu–y.”

He also seemed to reject Muhammad’s callout in the post.

@bullyb170 I’ve never seen you fight but next time you’re in Vegas I’m going to smack you. For free… Rankings me nothing to be but I have to go through them to get a title shot.. I don’t mind waiting for something that matters….@mickmaynard2

Muhammad isn’t the only one who seemed interested in taking this fight with Strickland. Former welterweight title contender Gilbert Burns was another man who threw his hat in the mix. It seems Strickland has plenty of options at this point, but there was a beef building up between him and Rockhold and perhaps waiting until Rockhold is healed could be the path Strickland wants to take.

Despite the apparent decline of his fight offer, Muhammad continued to unload of Strickland on Twitter, calling him soft. Muhammad claimed that Strickland asked to only fight ranked guys. Strickland is ranked seventh in the middleweight rankings, while Rockhold is unranked at this time.

“Listen, Belal Muhammad, I heard you’re running your f*cking mouth,” Strickland said during the video. “Last time you were in Vegas, I tried to spar you ’cause I knew you were a little f*ckin’ b*tch and I wanted to hurt you, and it was a good excuse to do it.”

He continues on an expletive-filled rant before explaining why he took the Rockhold fight in the first place. According to Strickland, he wanted an opponent that will move him up in the rankings toward a title shot. He also stated that he does not think that Muhammad fills that requirement.

Muhammad responded again on his Twitter, this time with a video further explaining his hate for Strickland.

“After his last fight, ‘Oh, I’m a bad boy. I want to kill someone in the cage. I want to be the first person to murder somebody. I’m a moron,’ Muhammad said. “Now it’s, ‘Oh I only want to fight rank guys who are above me and are going to get me closer to the title shot. And if it’s possible, can I fight in my home town?’ I know you have a fake persona, you’re soft.”

However, with Muhammad fighting at 170 and Strickland fighting at 185, it does seem like this beef is more personal that practical.

Sean Strickland has reacted to Luke Rockhold being forced out of their UFC 268 fight.

On Monday evening, Rockhold took to his Instagram story to announce he is out of his comeback fight against Strickland. The former middleweight champion revealed he herniated discs in his back which forced him out of the fight.

“There’s no easy way to really say it, but the fight is off in New York,” Rockhold said on his Instagram story about pulling out of the Strickland fight. “I ended up herniating a disc in my back. L4, L5. The docs say it’s nothing I can play with. I need to do some treatment and recovery time. Some things just aren’t meant to be. New York, motherf*cking New York. I’m sorry to the friends and the peeps and everyone, but we’ll be back. Until next time.”

The news was no doubt disappointing for many as Rockhold vs. Strickland is a fight many fans wanted to see. Strickland, however, says he isn’t surprised to the news that Rockhold was forced out of the bout.

“He was never going to make it to the fight lmao… no one is surprised. I sparred him once and almost put him out.. didn’t even spar the second round, walked out of the gym lmao.. I knew this wasn’t happening,” Strickland wrote.

Sean Strickland has been phenomenal since returning from a motorcycle accident that nearly forced him to retire from MMA. When he made his return back on Halloween night 2020, he dominated Jack Marshman and then fought just two weeks later and TKO’d Brendan Allen. He then beat Krzystof Jotko and Uriah Hall by decision, which was his first UFC main event.

Strickland is currently ranked seventh at middleweight and as of right now, it’s uncertain if the UFC will find someone to replace Rockhold.
