Sean Strickland has absolutely unloaded on Israel Adesanya.

Sean Strickland has spent 2021 making waves. The UFC middleweight is on a five-fight win streak and has been slowly moving his way up the rankings over the last few years. But his in-cage prowess isn’t what’s been getting him attention.

The stories surrounding Strickland lately have been about his bizarre interviews and social media actions. In recent months, the top-ten middleweight has revealed his neo-Nazi past, threatened violence towards those sharing the road with him, and divulged his desire to kill somebody in the Octagon

In a recent MMA Junkie interview, Strickland set his sights on the champion of his division, Israel Adesanya. Strickland believes the champ is using steroids and showing signs of gynecomastia (enlarged breasts in men) as a result (h/t MMA Junkie).

“Izzy’s a great fighter – he comes from kickboxing – have you ever seen a fighter with gyno for any other reason than that?” Strickland said. “Besides him, have you ever seen a fighter in the UFC that smokes weed that gets gyno? Ever? You can’t, because it doesn’t f*cking happen unless you cycle wrong. That’s a fact. We all know it. But regardless of the fact, Izzy’s a f*cking great fighter. We know that. That’s the fight I want.

“Izzy, I’ll come over dude. We can f*cking watch anime and you can put some f*cking testosterone in my ass. I’ll do it with you. Let’s f*cking go. With a needle, I think you guys do the stomach, right? Is that where you guys do, the stomach? You’re the expert on f*cking steroids. How’s it done?”

Last year, a photo of Adesanya’s pectoral went viral and lead to people claiming his flabby chest muscle was a result of steroid use. Adesanya addressed the drama, saying he had everything checked out, including a mammogram, but believes his condition may be due to “unhealthy living” and “smoking weed.”

When Sean Strickland isn’t being an absolute madman on the web, he can be found in the cage. The American’s last trip to the Octagon saw him take a unanimous decision over Uriah Hall in July. He is next scheduled to face Jack Hermansson on February 5.

Sean Strickland Tells Israel Adesanya To Cycle Off: ‘I Don’t Want To F*cking Bring You A Bra’

Sean Strickland and Adesanya

Sean Strickland has accused Israel Adesanya of steroid use during his time with the UFC.

This wouldn’t be the first time a claim like this has been made against Adesanya, after Paulo Costa expressed the same opinion when the champion was suffering from swelling on his right pectoral muscle prior to their matchup. Costa claimed this was because Adesanya was coming off a cycle of steroids however it would go no further then just an accusation that ‘Stylebender’ explained away.

Strickland has really started to make his way into the middleweight division, the American is currently riding on the back of a five-fight winning streak and will be looking to make it six when he faces of against Jack Hermanson early in 2022.

Sean Strickland Has High Hopes For The Year Ahead

If he can past this next test, Sean Strickland plans to work his way through the division before ultimately reaching the champion, Israel Adesanya.

“At least a title shot (by the end of the year),” Strickland told MMA Junkie.

“I’m one of the hardest training fighters in the UFC and I’ll do everything I can to get to a title shot, and if it happens, let’s f*cking go, Izzy. I’m f*cking ready. Make sure to cycle off, though. I don’t want to f*cking bring you a bra if you don’t hit the right cycle.”

“Izzy’s a great fighter – he comes from kickboxing – have you ever seen a fighter with gyno for any other reason than that?” Strickland said. “Besides him, have you ever seen a fighter in the UFC that smokes weed that gets gyno? Ever? You can’t because it doesn’t f*cking happen unless you cycle wrong. That’s a fact. We all know it. But regardless of the fact, Izzy’s a f*cking great fighter. We know that. Given the pre-fight medicals and other testing fighters have to do, do you believe many fighters are still using steroids?

Sean Strickland suffered what can only be described as a hilarious defeat at Submission Underground 29 on Sunday.

The UFC middleweight was in the main event slot against Andy Varela and appeared to be having fun throughout the grappling match.

At one point Strickland turned his back on his opponent and seemed to be gesturing to the crowd.

It proved to be a costly mistake as Varela leaped onto his back and sank in a rear-naked choke before forcing the tap.

Chael Sonnen was on commentary duties for the event and found the situation ridiculously funny.

Check out the match-ending sequence below.

Sean Strickland Didn’t Realise What He’d Signed Up For

After falling short at SUG 29, Strickland took to social media to signal his intent to stick to boxing in the future.

“I didn’t consent to that at all lol!!!!”, Strickland wrote alongside a post-fight video.

The 30-year-old claimed to not know he was in a submission wrestling match despite the fact the event was called Submission Underground.

“Lol!!!! You think I would of expected that but I thought we were wrestling! I guess I should of known from the name “SUBMISSION underground” lol!!!!

After breaking character for a moment to poke fun at the situation and exchange messages with amused fans, Strickland was back to his usual ways, conjuring potentially life-ending situations upon himself.

“Went to Portland because there is only so much porn and video games someone can handle in a weekend and I gotta be honest it saddens me life isn’t like a movie.. I just wish some random act of violence would happen to me while walking down the street. Minus the dying part lol,” Strickland wrote on Twitter.

Strickland then posted a video explaining the type of situation he hoped would happen.

“Not like a gun,” Stickland said. “A gun you’re fucked, man. You’re just f*cking dead but a crazy homeless guy with a knife, that sounds like a good time. The sh*tty part is it just hasn’t f*cking happened.”

Strickland is currently riding a five-fight win streak and is undefeated since stepping up to middleweight. Last time out the controversial contender picked up a victory over Uriah Hall, beating the Ultimate Fighter runner-up handily over five rounds.

Do you think Sean Strickland really didn’t know he was in a submission wrestling match at SUG 29?

UFC middleweight Sean Strickland fires back at Sean O’Malley after the rising bantamweight star labelled him a “psychopath”.

It has been a regular occurrence seeing Sean Strickland’s name in the headlines. However, not always for his skill-set inside the Octagon, but his outlandish behaviour, which has caused concern from fellow athletes.

Since his return to competition in 2020, Strickland (24-3 MMA) has been on a tear in the division walking through all comers. The return has seen the thirty-year-old accumulate victories over Jack Marshman, Brendan Allen, Krzysztof Jotko and Uriah Hall.

Last month, Strickland was scheduled to face off with former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold at UFC 268. Unfortunately, Rockhold could not make the dance due to an injury, meaning Strickland wasn’t met with a replacement and was removed from the card.

Strickland’s next task in the Octagon will be Sweden’s Jack Hermansson, who is fresh off a wrestling match with Khamzat Chimaev. Although not scheduled to compete until next year, Strickland has continued to make headlines with rather alarming behaviour on social media. Strickland discussed his past as a Neo-Nazi, as well as releasing a video proposing he wanted “to do some weird sh*t” to UFC welterweight Belal Muhammad.

Sean O’Malley on Sean Strickland

The odd behaviour caught the attention of UFC bantamweight Sean O’Malley who is among the action in tonight’s UFC 269 event and discussed the issue on his podcast.

“Oh, I can’t get on the Sean Strickland card. I am scared that he might f*cking murder me. Like actually, I probably would not want to be around that dude. He kind of seems like a f*cking freak and psychopath. Like if he had a chance to kill someone, he probably would do it. So it’s like I wouldn’t even want to fight on that motherf*cker’s card. He’d be like: ‘I cannot have two Seans on this card’” O’Malley said.

Strickland latched on to O’Malley’s comments and fired back on Twitter.

“@SugaSeanMMA woke up one day and said “you know that guy who snitched on all his friends, did something shady with minor, yeah that guy I want him to tattoo his name on me” lol!! You know @SugaSeanMMA walks around holding his pocket lol!!!!” – Sean Strickland tweeted at Sean O’Malley.

Top-10 middleweights Jack Hermansson and Sean Strickland are set to collide in the main event of the February 5 UFC Fight Night event.

The news of this middleweight clash was first reported by ESPN on Friday. The bout has been verbally agreed to by both parties and contracts should be signed shortly.

Both Hermansson and Strickland are coming off wins. Hermansson (#6) defeated Edmen Shahbazyan via unanimous decision in May but has had mixed results in his most recent fights, going 2-2 in his last four bouts. Hermansson has also kept himself busy by engaging in a wrestling matchup with welterweight Khamzat Chimaev.

The last time Hermansson main-evented a UFC card, he took home Fight of the Night against Marvin Vettori. Hermansson came out on the losing end of that contest and will certainly look to have a different outcome as he returns to the main event spotlight in February.

Sean Strickland (#7) has been searching for a new opponent ever since his bout with Luke Rockhold fell apart. Strickland and Rockhold were engaged in some very heated trash talk that was expected to culminate at UFC 268 in November. Unfortunately, Rockhold had to withdraw from the bout.

Strickland shut the door on a potential fight against Darren Till and name-dropped Paulo Costa or Jack Hermansson as targeted opponents. We now know that he has been paired with the latter opponent on the tail end of winter.

Sean Strickland is currently enjoying a five-fight winning streak, most recently defeating Uriah Hall via unanimous decision in a July main event.

MMA News will keep you updated on additional updates and fight announcements connected to this February 5 Fight Night card.

Who do you pick to win this middleweight bout: Jack Hermansson or Sean Strickland?

Sean Strickland has shut down talk about a potential fight between him and Darren Till after the Englishman suggested they could headline the UFC’s return to the UK in March 2022.

Speaking on the podcast of former UFC middleweight champion and fellow Englishman Michael Bisping, Till revealed that he asked for a fight with Jared Cannonier before the UFC sent him a list of potential opponents that included Strickland.

“Listen, the UFC, they told me, ‘hey Darren, let us know when do you want to fight because we are waiting on you. You’re always there for us, you’re always ready to fight anyone, anytime’ so I said Jared Cannonier is a good one and they said ‘oh really? Jared already.?’ So they offered a few fights, and one fight I really liked was Sean Strickland,” Till said. “I’ve actually seen Sean Strickland a few times and I said to Sean, “do you know if you want to get it on sometime, we can do it because I think you’re a really good fighter.”

‘The Gorilla’ is coming off back-to-back losses and is 1-4 in his last five fights. In contrast, Strickland has looked exemplary since moving to middleweight and has picked up five consecutive wins.

Sean Strickland Wants Paulo Costa Or Jack Hermansson Next

Strickland took to social media to publicly rule himself out of a fight with Till while calling for a bout against either Paulo Costa or Jack Hermansson.

“Instagram blocked me, joked about a pedophile dying and I guess they didn’t like it lol!!!!” Strickland tweeted. “Anyways I’m not fighting Darren Till. I want (Paulo) Costa and if Costa can’t put down the wine and cookies I want Jack (Hermansson).”

Costa like Till is riding a two-fight losing streak after falling short against Israel Adesanya and Marvin Vettori. ‘The Joker’ may have lost to Khamzat Chimaev recently but that was an exhibition wrestling match and he is currently enjoying a winning run inside the UFC Octagon.
