As Joe Rogan explained to Snoop Dogg:

“Snoop, let me tell you a story, the reason why this table is this wide, this is true, this is the true story. When I first moved to Austin, I had a smaller table that I was gonna set up, and I was like, maybe I’ll be a little more intimate with the, with the guests. And then I had Mike on one time, and the first time I had him on, Mike was not training at all, and he said he can’t work out at all because it ignites his ego, and he just smokes a lot of weed, and we had a great conversation, it was real fun.

“And then he came back on again to promote the, to promote the Roy Jones fight. And he was jacked his giant muscles in his forearms, and he looked like he was ready to go. You could see the element that made him Mike Tyson. His prime had been, reignited, whatever. It was, like, now I need a wider table. I got, I was nervous in the room with him. You could tell he’s ready to go.”

Two worlds collided last night in the Irish capital, as former two-weight UFC champion, Conor McGregor met up with rap star and generational icon, Snoop Dogg after the latter’s appearance in Dublin at a concert.

McGregor, a former undisputed lightweight and featherweight championship holder under the banner of the UFC, has been sidelined from the Octagon since he headlined UFC 264 back in July 2021, fracturing his left tibia and fibula in a first round doctor’s stoppage TKO loss to Dustin Poirier.

Sidelined since suffering his gruesome injury, Crumlin striker, McGregor, who recently saw noted plans for an Octagon comeback at UFC 296 in December in a welterweight fight with Michael Chandler quashed, has now been pegged to fight sometime next year instead by UFC CEO, Dana White.

Practising his striking on a boxing machine at his Black Forge Inn pub in Dublin over the course of the weekend, McGregor appeared to miss the chance to meet with the above-mentioned, Snoop Dogg, who was pictured at the public house, eating food and sporting one of the ex-champion’s title belts.

However, performing last night in the capital, McGregor posted a picture of himself driving to the venue – topless no less, before pictures emerged overnight of the Dubliner and Snoop Dogg posing for a series of snaps

As well as McGregor’s long-time tenure with the UFC, the above-mentioned, Snoop Dogg also served as a color commentator on Dana White’s Contender Series previously alongside former UFC bantamweight title challenger and former WEC champion, Urijah Faber.

Snoop Dogg infamously also called the Contender Series debut of recently-minted undisputed bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley

Hip hop legend Snoop Dogg congratulated the newly crowned UFC bantamweight world champion, Sean O’Malley.

On August 19, O’Malley shocked the world with a stunning second-round knockout of bantamweight great Aljamain Sterling to capture his first piece of UFC gold. Following O’Malley’s big win, MMA fan, and entertainment icon Snoop Dogg shared his reaction in a brief video clip on social media, revealing that ‘Sugar’ made the Doggfather some coin with his world title-winning performance at UFC 292.

“Great f*cking win, champ. The Suga Show stars now. You made me some money last night, nephew. Good sh*t,” Snoop Dogg said.

In 2017, Snoop Dogg was a guest commentator on Dana White’s Contender Series the very night that Sean O’Malley made his first appearance with the promotion. O’Malley scored a highlight-reel-worthy first-round knockout of his opponent, Alfred Khashakyan, to earn a contract with the UFC. Following the win, Snoop Dogg famously exclaimed O’Malley’s name multiple times, officially kickstarting what would come to be known as the ‘Sugar Show.’

Sean O’Malley Lights Up with Snoop Dogg

After his win on DWCS, Sean O’Malley revealed that he joined Snoop Dogg in his trailer where the pair smoked a joint together while watching the highlights from his history-making knockout.

“Right when I walked into his trailer, he handed me a joint and I was pumped. It felt like a movie because I walked into his trailer and he’s got his bodyguards, he’s got a couple of other people in there, and there was like three joints going around,” O’Malley said on The MMA Hour. “I was puffin’ and passin’, trying to keep up, and they had a TV in there playing highlights of my fight, so we’re watching that and smoking, it was so much fun. It was only like 20 or 30 minutes, but it was a good time and a memory forever” (h/t MiddleEasy).

The night that O’Malley earned his contract with the promotion, Snoop Dogg dubbed ‘Sugar’ a future world champion. Six years later, O’Malley is exactly that, defeating the man that many believed to be the greatest bantamweight in the history of the division.

Brendan Schaub Says “You’re Not Getting Another Jon Jones”: UFC LHW Title Will Get “Passed Around Like A Doobie At A Snoop Dogg Concert”

Brendan Schaub believes that there won’t be another champion as dominant as Jon Jones.

This past weekend, Jiri Prochazka created history when he dethroned Glover Teixeira to become the new light heavyweight king at UFC 275. He also became the first Czech champion in the promotion and received major backing from legendary fighters such as Georges St-Pierre who tout him to have a commanding reign ahead.

Brendan Schaub doesn’t think that there will be another Jon Jones

When it comes to any champion in the UFC, and especially in the 205-lbs division, Jones is widely considered to be the gold standard for other athletes given his accomplishments. The former two-time UFC Light Heavyweight title holder successfully defended the strap 11 times and has never lost a bout where the title was on the line.

In the latest episode of the Schaub Show, Brendan Shaub shared his thoughts on why he believes the 205-lbs title will continue to change hands despite Prochazka’s abilities.

“I think [the UFC light heavyweight belt] gets circulated just non-stop,” Schaub said. “I think that thing gets passed around like a doobie at a Snoop Dogg concert; just here you go, here you go, here you go, here you go.

“I think you’re going to get multiple world champions in the next two years and when I look at the division, you know, unless there’s some freak that comes along soon that we haven’t heard of, you’re not getting another Jon Jones in this lifetime; a guy who’s just absolutely dominant.” (h/t Sportkeeda)

UFC Light Heavyweight title’s recent history

Jan Blachowicz won the vacant title after Jones’ absence against Dominick Reyes in September 2020. His only title defense came against the reigning UFC Middleweight king Israel Adesanya, who moved up a weight class to test out his chops. ‘The Legendary Polish Power’ would go on to drop the crown in his next fight to Glover Teixeira.

From Teixeira’s win over Blachowicz last October, the UFC Light Heavyweight gold has changed hands three times in just the last seven months.

It remains to be seen whether Jiri Prochazka is able to add some stability to the division and emulate a run similar to Jones’ early career. While there has not been an official announcement, he will likely face Blachowicz in his first title defense.

Meanwhile, Jones has been out of action for over two years now gearing up to make his heavyweight debut. He’s expected to face Stipe Miocic for the interim title sometime later this year.

Do you agree with Brendan Schaub on his take?
