Joe Rogan has provided fans an insight into how he’s currently training after posting his latest video on Instagram. Rogan who is a former taekwondo competitor himself shared the video of him throwing powerful spinning back kicks onto a Muay Thai heavy bag. The UFC broadcaster was unleashing some hard-hitting strikes despite still recovering from a knee injury.

Rogan’s impressive technique was on full display and his intensity was without a doubt high. He shared a message alongside his post providing brief updates on how he’s recovering and a special mention to former UFC Champion George St-Pierre.

“Working on perishable skills. 10 rounds on the bag followed by technique work. I wanna sharpen everything up again now that my knees are feeling good. Many thanks to @ways2well for helping me with my injuries and @kneesovertoesguy for the knee strengthening instruction! And shoutout to the great @georgesstpierre for the inspiration from his @rootsoffight shirt!”

Joe Rogan Talks on Conor McGregor’s ‘Freakish Power’

It’s pretty clear to see that Rogan himself packs a devastating punch, or kick should we say. Watching fights nearly every week must mean that you see devastating power quite often.

However, there is one man and one moment that sticks out to Rogan above anything else.

On an episode of the JRE (Joe Rogan Experience) Podcast Rogan calls back 2015 to when Conor McGregor starched Jose Aldo just 13 seconds into their bout.

“He’s just got that freakish punch. I mean that’s just genius; he had a little bit of a cut over his right eyebrow from that punch. Look how genius this is, that’s so genius. You know what’s even more genius? He worked on the exact same thing, and he mimicked what he was going to do, in the green room. There’s a video of him, Conor, Conor pretending to be Aldo and then him showing what he’s going to do and counter. He does the exact same move in the green room, knowing in the dressing room, knowing that’s going to be the fight.”

Despite seeing many fights, it appears no one throws a punch quite like Conor McGregor.

UFC 273

The UFC is hoping to be making a return to the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn for UFC 273. Although it hasn’t been confirmed, following an initial report from ESPN more sources are beginning to confirm the news.

This will be the fourth scheduled Pay-Per-View event of the year for the UFC and the first time the promotion has returned to the UFC for more than three years. Due to the pandemic, it is likely that these plans could be changed if restrictions are also, but this is what the promotion is aiming for, given everything can run smoothly.

The venue is home to some historical moments within the sport, it is where Khabib laid claim to the lightweight division following his victory over short-notice opponent Al Iaquinta at UFC 223. This is the same venue in which prior to the fight, Conor McGregor assaulted a bus full of fighters, throwing a dolly through the windshield and injuring some of the individuals on board in the process.

Potential Bout For UFC 273

No official matchups have been confirmed by the UFC, but according to MMAJunkie Irene Aldana and Aspen Ladd areas are supposed to face off against each other on the card.

Aldana will be looking to make it two on the bounce and follow on from her impressive TKO victory over Yana Kunitskaya back at UFC 264 whilst Ladd will be looking to return to winning ways following her disappointing outing against Norma Dumont at Featherweight earlier in the year. Ladd will have to tackle her weight cutting issue if she wants to ensure it doesn’t become problematic for his during her camp.

A win for Aldana keeps her highly ranked in the division and potentially pushes her on for a title shot. Amanda Nunes and Julianna Pena will have to settle their differences in the rematch first, however, an impressive display could propel her into the #1 spot.

Sean Brady

Sean Brady had an impressive year with the UFC picking up two wins in 2021 including a decision victory over Welterweight contender Michael Chiesa. It appears his success has transferred over to Fury Grappling as well as he was able to secure the upset victory over Craig Jones at last night’s competition.

Neither of the two was able to secure takedowns, sweeps, passes, or submission attempts during the bout. Jones was also having to compete without being able to use his wide-range skillset as Fury Grappling 3’s rules didn’t allow for heel hooks in matchups against UFC athletes.

Brady, who was competing in his hometown of Philadelphia, spoke to his local fans following on from his victory.

“Craig’s the best grappler in the world, you know. I’m a jiu-jitsu guy but I’m a MMA guy, too. So, I just wanted to use my pressure, use my top game…. I’m so happy to be here in front of my fans in Philly. No matter what, Craig Jones is great, but I wasn’t losing in my hometown. “ (transcribed by the JiuJitsutimes)

What’s next for Sean Brady?

There is some hype building around Brady, maybe even not quite enough hype. Following on from his victory over Michael Chiesa, Brady earned himself the #9 slot in the welterweight rankings and now will be looking for his next opponent to begin his ascent to the top. Welterweight is running out of imminent contenders for current champion Kamaru Usman, so a big victory in his next bout could have a serious impact on his trajectory.

One matchup to consider is Belal Muhammad, coming off the back of a dominant performance over Stephen Thompson if Belal can’t secure a matchup against a top five-ranked opponent, stylistically these fighters would pair off nicely. Another option although less likely is Jorge Masvidal, given ‘Gamebred’ has already had two unsuccessful attempts at welterweight gold, his interest could now turn to take out some of the upcoming names in the division, and for Brady, if he were ever to get this fight it adds another experienced name onto his resume.

Nate Diaz

Nate Diaz took to social media to callout out Dustin Poirier regarding their highly rumored and anticipated matchup.

The pair have been linked to face each other for quite some time now and an increase in trash-talking over the last few weeks had fans believing we may get this matchup soon.

Poirier himself took to social media a few days ago telling fans that it was in fact Diaz who turned down the offer, not himself.

However, it appears there is more to it than just one party not wanting to fight as Diaz responded in a now-deleted post.

“You’re not worthy if you wanted to fight, we would have already. Bring yourself back from the dead you suck DP.”

This isn’t the first time the two have exchanged on social media, with both fighters originally claiming they wanted to fight each other in January, just one month after Poirier’s unsuccessful title shot against Charles Oliveira at UFC 269.

UFC president Dana White has already told fans that the promotion is happy to make this fight and with so much hype and excitement building around it, it only seems like a matter of time before they do.

What’s next for Nate Diaz and Dustin Poirier?

Although this is the fight too make for both fighters and the fans, were going to investigate what other options are waiting for these two in 2022.

Nate Diaz has already expressed his desire to fight in January, however the closer we get too it the less likely it appears.

Diaz doesn’t seem to be interested in fighting up the rankings or trying to rebuild towards a title shot, so if for whatever reason the fight with Poirier disappears the only fight that then makes sense is Conor McGregor. McGregor who is expected to be side-lined until summer of 2022 will be awaiting a high-profile matchup and what netter then to finish of the trilogy.

As for Poirier, whether he wants to push for another title shot is a decision he is yet to make it seems, however with the resume he has at lightweight there may not be many names that excite him the same. One fighter who Poirier clearly has an issue with is Colby Covington and given Poirier is reluctant to make the cut too 155lb now, this grudge match makes perfect sense.

Sean O'Malley

Sean O’Malley must have been feeling the festive cheer this holiday season as he took to a local Walmart to hand out $100 to random shoppers who passed him by. O’Malley’s reasoning for doing this makes it even better as the UFC star wanted to give back to the community following the successful year he has had himself.

“I literally have thousands of dollars, no cap. So, we’re going to be handing out a bunch of f***ing money to peeps. And hopefully, we can find some people that need the money. You know what I mean?”

Many people who passed O’Malley were extremely grateful, and those even more who recognised the UFC star and took the opportunity to get a photo with him as well. One woman held O’Malley’s hand and said a prayer for him to show her appreciation for what he was doing.

However, the UFC star was taken back when a handful of people passing by actually declined the offer from O’Malley but still took the time to appreciate his gesture.

Sean O’Malley Suffers Minor Injury

In the video it is clear to see that Sean O’Malley is using support on his right hand, this would later be revealed that ‘Suga’ had broken his right thumb which he believes he did back at UFC 269 following his impressive first round TKO over Raulian Paiva.

This isn’t the first time O’Malley has suffered from injuries and following on from that performance told the world in a post-fight interview the issues he was having heading into his matchup at UFC 269.

“I haven’t grappled or sparred in three weeks. I was lying in bed one night, 99 percent sure I was going to pull out of this fight. I couldn’t grapple, I couldn’t spar. All I could do was run and hit mitts and I just knew how many people wanted to come out here and wanted to watch me fight and I just couldn’t pull out.” (transcribed by sportskeeda.com)

Jorge Masvidal Paul

Jorge Masvidal has fired shots towards Jake Paul after the pay-per-view numbers for his rematch with Tyron Woodley were announced. It is claimed that Paul-Woodley 2 achieved less than 65,000 purchases. Given Paul’s claim that his previous matchup against Ben Askren cleared well over one million it’s a significant drop for ‘The Problem Child’

Masvidal took aim at Paul shortly after the PPV announcement.

“Bitch boy can’t afford the big boys Never again do I want to hear my name associated with the fake. 3 0 5 day is coming” Masvidal shared in a social media post.

It appears the relationship between Jorge Masvidal and Jake Paul has turned sour, initially Masvidal helped train Paul for his bout against Ben Askren. However, things changed following the Woodley fight as Paul called out “Gamebred” and other fighters within the UFC.

Jorge Masvidal Responds to Jake Paul Fight Offer

Following on from Paul’s callout of Masvidal, the UFC Star took to social media to offer up his own response.

“Now to address that little b***h, what’s his face, that f***er, listen man, you can’t f***ing afford me. You understand? Me and all the names that you mentioned, you can’t afford. I know… what you pay,” Masvidal said. “You talk a big game. You say 50 million dollars, you have 100 million dollars. Bulls**t! If that was the case, [Floyd] Mayweather would have took the fight with your b***h a** but he hasn’t because you don’t generate that type of revenue.”

“You can’t afford me to come over. So, let me tell you a little secret about me then though, I fight for money or I fight the best in the world. You’re neither, you understand? I know it hurts… I’ll tell you what? Come on over to the UFC, sign on one-fight deal, let Dana [White] give you whatever the f**k he’s gotta pay you, I’ll break your jaw in front of the whole world, man. I promise you that. If you really want it, come get it.”
