Streaking heavyweight knockout artist, Tai Tuivasa has a rather streamlined plan for his upcoming UFC Paris headliner this weekend; defeat hometown favorite, Ciryl Gane – before calling out former two-time light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones.

Tuivasa, the current #3 ranked heavyweight contender, headlines UFC Fight Night Paris this Saturday in the promotion’s first outing in France in their antiquity – drawing the former interim heavyweight champion and French star, Gane.

The Syndey-born puncher most recently featured on the main card of UFC 271 in February, stopping heavyweight knockout king, and common-foe, Derrick Lewis with a stunning second round step-in elbow knockout of his own.

Landing his fifth consecutive victory and fifth knockout win on the trot as part of a certain UFC tenure purple patch for Tuivasa, the Australian has earned himself a high-stakes headliner with Gane this weekend in the City of Light.

Tai Tuivasa praises Jon Jones’ UFC tenure, however, dislikes his personality

With former two-time light heavyweight champion, Jones expected to make his long-awaited heavyweight division bow by the end of this year, potentially in an interim title fight against fellow former kingpin, Stipe Miocic – Tuivasa admits he would like to share the Octagon with the Rochester native in the future.

“I’ve said it many times before – and I still stand by what I said, I think Jon Jones is the best fighter to ever fight, that’s my personal opinion,” Tai Tuivasa told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. “Especially how he fights, you know what I mean – like how he fights, he’s probably the best fighter to ever step foot in the cage.”

“But, is he (Jon Jones) a d*ckhead? Yes. I think he’s a d*ckhead,” Tai Tuivasa explained. “Will I fight him? Yes. And will he fight me? I think he would, ‘cause he’s fought everyone and anyone, you know what I mean. He’s one of the greatest to ever do it. I’d love to fight him. … Win you lose I’ll get in there and have a scrap – and if I dink him, I sink him. Just like anyone else.”

Out of action since February 2020, Jones headlined UFC 247 against former two-time title chaser, Dominick Reyes with a close, unanimous decision win in Houston, Texas before officially vacating the undisputed championship in August of that year.

Curtis Blaydes is looking forward to facing the winner of Ciryl Gane and Tai Tuivasa, after his win over Tom Aspinall at UFC: London.

The fight didn’t go exactly how Blaydes envisioned the bout going, as he won via TKO/injury in 15 seconds. Aspinall’s knee blew out as he went to take a step back, after landing a leg kick on Blaydes. It was another unfortunate end to a card, just one week after the Yair Rodriguez vs Brian Ortega fight.

Blaydes claimed that he wan’t even going to go to his wrestling, and wanted to stand and throw hands with Aspinall. He was asked in his post-fight interview if that was the plan.

“Yeah, everyone was hyping up his speed. He’s not as fast as you guys think he seems to be. I know it was only 15 seconds, but every exchange he got touched. A lot of his highlights when he’s sparking these guys, they’re stagnant… I don’t believe the hype, I just don’t think he’s that fast.” Blaydes said.

Curtis Blaydes will only fight the winner of Gane vs Tuivasa, and won’t fight down the rankings

“Heading into this fight I envisioned the winner, who is me, facing the winner of Gane and Tuivasa. I’m not ‘gonna pass up an opportunity to fight those guys.” Blaydes said

He continued on to another question, asking whether he would rather fight again instead of waiting for Gane and Tuivasa.

“No, why would I do that? That doesn’t help me with the rankings at all. Staying active? You don’t have to stay active. You have to beat highly ranked opponents. So I’m going to wait for the winner, I will not be taking numbers 6-8. It doesn’t help me, it helps them. I’m not looking to give any handouts.”

Blaydes was firm that he would like to fight the winner of Gane and Tuivasa. A win over one of them, would insure him a title fight as well.

UFC heavyweight Tai Tuivasa shares some Instagram DMs with Jon Jones and claims that Jones has blocked him.

Tai Tuivasa’s most recent win over former title challenger, Derrick Lewis, has now found him on a five-fight win streak and ranked No.3. The Australian is on the precipice of potentially challenging for the heavyweight title and could find himself across the cage from an array of big names.

One of which could be Jon Jones, the former light-heavyweight champion who has been preparing himself for the move up heavyweight over the past two years in hopes of achieving double champ status.

It seems as if Jones will be facing former champion, Stipe Miocic for the vacant title while current champion Francis Ngannou recovers from a knee injury.

Still, that wouldn’t stop Tuivasa from goading and engaging in some sort of confrontation over social media with Jones. ‘Bam Bam’ would post a screenshot to Instagram of a conversation between him and ‘Bones’.

“You sound off ya head,” Tai Tuivasa began. “I’d out party ya too I reckon. Just sayin but yeah Mary had a lil lamb too and I smoked her (smoke and laughing emojis) whatever whatever bra when you come back I’ll still be around you want a warm up lamb roast I’ll be waiting.”

“Good luck with your beer company,” Jones would reply.

“Cheers I’ll send you some” Tuivasa countered.

“I don’t need it, you keep it. Lol.  Stop writing.” Jones wrote.

“Sweet. You stop writing,” Tuivasa concluded.

Tuivasa would caption the post “B WEEEEZZZZZZZYYYYY #bones you know I love you man add me back uce you know he want dat @drinkwest.”

Tai Tuivasa recently started a beer company called ‘Drink West’ alongside fellow UFC fighter Tyson Pedro and rugby league player Nathan Clearly.
