Although UFC 228 is still without a main event, it is already reported to have two crucial strawweight contests. It has already been reported that Jessica Andrade and Karolina Kowalkiewicz will square off in what will likely determine the next #1 contender for Rose Namajunas’s championship. Now, rising and undefeated prospect Tatiana Suarez is slated to […]
With the UFC having now secured a new broadcasting deal with ESPN from 2019 onwards, Dana White recently admitted that ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ show may finally be on its way out after a 27season series run.
As such, now seems like a good time to take a look back at what has become of every single one of the long-running show’s 35 ‘Ultimate Fighter’ winners to date.
Find out what your favorite past winners of TUF are up to now:
SEASON 1
Diego Sanchez
It’s a testament to Diego Sanchez’s durability that 13 years after winning TUF season 1 he remains the only fighter from that historic series to still be actively competing in the UFC, having amassed 27 fights (16-11) to date.
However, after suffering back-to-back first-round knockouts in his last two fights, it’s possible that the 36-year-old’s memorable career is now entering its final stages, though Sanchez has assured his fans that, “I’m not done yet.”
Forrest Griffin
Arguably TUF’s most iconic winner, Griffin’s fight with Stephan Bonner in the Season 1 finale was declared as the most important fight in UFC history by Dana White, while he’d also go on to win the light-heavyweight title too.
Griffin retired in 2013 at the age of 33 due to chronic injuries, but he’s since been inducted into the UFC’s Hall of Fame and now works for the UFC as their Vice President of Athletic Development.

UFC Fight Night 129 went down tonight (Saturday, May 19, 2018) from the Movistar Arena in Santiago, Chile. The evening was headlined by a welterweight contender matchup between the surging Kamaru Usman and grappling ace Demian Maia. Maia had early success with his hands as well as putting Usman in some tricky spots with his takedowns. But the 40-year-old tired and had less and less to offer, shooting telegraphed shots that Usman more and more easily stuffed. It was not a thrilling contest but an important win for Usman, who positions himself for a number-one contender fight, at worst.
The co-feature saw strawweight prospects Tatiana Suarez and Alexa Grasso square off to see which of them is ready to graduate to contender status. It turned out to be Suarez. The former freestyle wrestling standout leaned on her roots, quickly grounding Grasso. She soon moved to the back and sunk in the rear-naked choke for the impressive first-round victory.

Demian Maia walking to the octagon for the 28th time in his career. Only people with more UFC fights are Bisping and Jim Miller. Maia can also tie the all-time UFC wins record with a victory tonight. #UFCChile
Never understood why Maia didn't work on his kicking game over the years, as no one would try to take him down off a caught or missed one. #ufcchilepic.twitter.com/5PzdzMzfUd
The top handful at 115 pounds – Joanna, Andrade, Claudia – is a tough crew to break into to. But throw Tatiana Suarez against anyone not in that group. She's ready.
Alexa Grasso had no shot. Tatiana Suarez takes her down in the first minute and moves to the back for the rear naked choke. Textbook. Suarez looks like the real deal at 115.

In the co-main event of last night’s (Sat. May 19, 2018) UFC Fight Night event from Santiago, Chile, No. 9-ranked women’s strawweight Alexa Grasso and No. 12-ranked Tatiana Suarez did battle inside the Octagon.
Grasso came into the fight off a unanimous decision victory over Randa Markos in August of last year.
Prior to that fight she suffered the first loss of her professional mixed martial arts (MMA) career to Felice Herrig via unanimous decision. A win over Suarez would’ve put her back on the road to a title opportunity.
Suarez is undefeated in her short MMA career, racking up a five-fight win streak in addition to having won The Ultimate Fighter Season 23 (TUF 23). Her last Octagon appearance saw her pick up a decision win over Viviane Pereira. A win over a notable name such as Grasso would be huge for the 27-year-old.
Immediately Suarez utilized her superior wrestling ability and got Grasso onto the ground. She was able to get Grasso’s back and lock in the rear-naked choke. Grasso had no other choice but to tap out. What an impressive statement from Suarez.
