The main event featured a strawweight title tilt between rivals Joanna Jedrzejczyk and Claudia Gadelha. Both women were given $50,000 “Fight of the Night” bonuses for their efforts.

In the strawweight final of The Ultimate Fighter, Tatiana Suarez scored an impressive first round d’Arce choke submission victory over Amanda Bobby. She received a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus for her efforts.

Earlier on the card, Doo Ho Choi blasted Thiago Tavares with a right hand that shut the lights off in the very first round. He too earned a $50,000 “Performance of the Night” Bonus for his finish.

In the strawweight finale of The Ultimate Fighter season 23, Tatiana Suarez took on Amanda Bobby Cooper, and took care of business.

The much bigger Suarez exchanged a few leg kicks with Cooper to begin the fight, but soon after dropped for a takedown. The Millenia MMA rep easily gained top control.

Cooper immediately threatened with an armbar, but Suarez extricates herself. Suarez goes to work from top position, but as she postures up to rain down blows, Cooper pushes off and sweeps into top position. Cooper briefly maintains a top half guard position, but Suarez gradually moves back to her feet and dug in for a takedown of her own.

Suarez postures up and tries to pass the guard of Cooper, pushing her legs to the side. Cooper does a good job of keeping her from passing, but Suarez drops down and laces her arms for a D’Arce choke. Suarez elicits the tap at 3:43 of the very first round.

And with that, Tatiana Suarez becomes the TUF 23 strawweight champion, earning herself a coveted six-figure UFC contract.

Final Result: Tatiana Suarez def. Amanda Cooper via 1st Round D’Arce Choke

On Friday, UFC held a special “launch event” for this year’s International Fight Week in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The press conference promoted the shows that are scheduled for International Fight Week, including UFC 200, The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale and UFC Fight Night: Dos Anjos vs. Alvarez.

During the press event on Friday, UFC made some new announcements regarding the landmark UFC 200 event scheduled for July 9th at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As noted, UFC pulled the originally scheduled main event between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz for UFC 200 when McGregor refused to meet his promotional requirements for the event.

UFC President Dana White introduced videos to promote each event, with Rafael dos Anjos vs. Eddie Alvarez for the UFC Lightweight title being advertised for the UFC Fight Night event scheduled for International Fight Week and Joanna Jędrzejczyk and Cláudia Gadelha for the UFC Women’s Strawweight Title for the TUF 23 Finale event.

For UFC 200, White introduced multiple videos to promote the event, including video features on Cain Velasquez vs. Travis Browne, Miesha Tate vs. Amanda Nunes for the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title, Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar for the interim UFC Featherweight Title and then we were given a partial update on plans for the main event.

White addressed the fact that everyone knows what has been going on with Conor McGregor before informing the fans and media in attendance that Nate Diaz still wants to fight at UFC 200 and that the promotion is still working on getting him a new opponent.
