Tito Ortiz is planning to become a police officer or sheriff as he claims cops are the “good guys.” Ortiz hasn’t truly walked away from the sport of MMA despite retiring numerous times. Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz says he hopes to become a cop once his fighting career draws to a close. The 45-year-old spoke to TMZ Sports to confirm his plans for one final fight and a career in law enforcement once it’s all over, he said.
“I plan on it,” Ortiz said about his desire to become a cop. “It just depends on what ranking I want to do. Do I want to be a sheriff or do I want to be a police officer? I haven’t really made my decision yet. I’m going to go to LA within the next few days, go do a ride along with one of my friends who is a sheriff. I’ve done a few ride along here in Huntington Beach at the HBPD. I just got an opportunity to really evaluate what these officers truly do. I stood on my feet for nine hours. (I) probably moved in a 15-foot radius all day, never went to the rest room – just for the safety of my city.
“I think it’s right at this time in my life right now. I’ll be fighting one more time this year. I want to hang ’em up. But, I want to do something else that will not just keep that excitement going but just do what’s right for the country. Do what’s right for the city, for my city.”
Ortiz has been chasing a fight with heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson as of late. ‘The Huntingdon Beach Bad Boy’ claimed someone made him an offer to fight ‘Iron Mike’ and he has since taken it upon himself to make a promo video for the potential bout. Despite Ortiz claiming the fight is on the table, it appears unlikely he’ll be fighting Tyson anytime soon.

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz has called out ‘The Rock’ and other celebrities for bashing Donald Trump while doing nothing to actively help the ongoing crisis in the United States.
Earlier this week former WWE champion turned Hollywood megastar Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson took to social media to slam the president for his poor handling of George Floyd’s murder and the subsequent protest/riots that followed. The video went viral and started a trend of “where are you” directed at the absent American leader. Despite his popularity ‘The Rock’ is not without his critics for speaking out on this subject, among them is MMA legend Ortiz who made his views clear in a video posted to Twitter, he said.
“Well a few days ago. You guys know I am a big fan of ‘The Rock’, Dwayne Johnson and he said ‘where’s are President’ or ‘where is he’. Well you know what Dwayne, where are you for your city?” Tito Ortiz questioned. “I stood down there for nine hours, for my city. To defend it. Where were you for your city? And I’m calling you out. All of you celebrities I’m calling all of you out. You let them destroy your cities? Embarrassing. We see that you are part of the agenda. And the agenda is not taking care of this country.” (Transcribed by BJPenn.com)
‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ hasn’t fought since beating Alberto Del Rio at Combate Americas 51. The 45-year-old is currently riding a three-fight win streak in the sport but is hoping to secure a fight in boxing. Ortiz says he has been approached to fight Mike Tyson in his boxing comeback and he has even made a promo video to help sell a fight between the pair. It remains to be seen if this fight has any chance of happening or if Ortiz is just trying to wish something into being.
Do you agree with Tito Ortiz? Should celebrities like ‘The Rock’ be more active in their approach to the social tensions in the United States?

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz has released a video to help promote his potential fight against boxing legend Mike Tyson. ‘Iron Mike’ recently announced his intention to return to the ring for a few exhibition bouts. The 53-year-old appears to be in tremendous shape based on the video footage he has released ahead of his comeback.
The former heavyweight world champion hasn’t been short of potential opponents for his comeback. Long-time rival Evander Holyfield has announced he will be returning to the ring at 57 years old. While MMA fighters have been lining up for a shot at the fight legend. Andrei Arlovski and Ken Shamrock have offered to take on Tyson. So has Ortiz and his call out got the most attention from fight fans and the man himself, Mike Tyson.
‘The Hunnington Beach Bad Boy’ took to social media to last week to call out Tyson posting a photo of both men that was captioned. “@MikeTyson – Legend Vs Legend on PPV! When are we doing it? Just so you all know I was called for this fight. What if someone called you , “would you fight Mike”? Me,”YES”!”
Ortiz faced ridicule from a lot of people in the MMA world including former opponent turned MMA analyst Chael Sonnen who sounded off on Ortiz on his YouTube channel. Tyson though seemed to take the call out seriously and responded to the Ortiz fight offer during an interview with TMZ. He seemed pretty open to taking on the MMA veteran in a charity fight, he said.
“I don’t really know but listen — anyone that’s willing to contribute to this charity, they’re welcome to come in and challenge me. I would be open for anyone.”
Ortiz who is riding a three-fight win streak has clearly taken that Tyson’s comments seriously. So seriously, he has put together a promo video to hype up a fight. And just a heads up, it’s over eight minutes long! Check it out below….

Former boxing heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is open to all comers — including ex-UFC light heavyweight king Tito Ortiz.
With recent footage of Tyson looking in amazing shape at the age of 53, a number of combat sports athletes — past and present — have been linked with facing him in a charity fight as the former looks to return to action. One of them is notably Evander Holyfield while the likes of John Fury have also challenged Tyson.
The latest is Ortiz who recently called “Iron Mike” out for a legend vs. legend fight on pay-per-view.
“.@MikeTyson – Legend Vs Legend on PPV! When are we doing it?”
But assuming it’s the latter, Tyson has no problem with facing Ortiz — after all, he’s willing to face anyone at this point.
“I don’t really know but listen — anyone that’s willing to contribute to this charity, they’re welcome to come in and challenge me,” Tyson told TMZ. “I would be open for anyone.”
Ortiz is currently on a three-fight winning streak after wins over Sonnen, Chuck Liddell and Alberto El Patron.
