The criteria I used for these rankings are based on 3 things:

1. How unique/recognizable are the fighter’s shorts?

If you see the shorts, you know who’s wearing them.

2. Have they been wearing them consistently for an extended period of time?

Have they been wearing the same colored or themed shorts for many years?

3. How visually appealing the are the shorts?

This is somewhat at my personal digression, but I will try to be as unbiased as possible.

Bleacher Report’s Mike Hodges:

After capturing the Strikeforce Light Heavyweight title at the tender age of 40, Dan Henderson will look to make history once again, as he takes on former Pride FC heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko at Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson.

Arguably one of the most anticipated bouts of the year, the two competitors have agreed to meet at heavyweight.

Henderson’s tranier, Daniel Woirin, spoke highly of the American and told TATAME.com that although his belt isn’t at stake in this bout, Henderson is still training hard and is extra motivated to challenge Emelianenko.

“He’s very glad about fighting Fedor,” Woirin said.

“Dan Henderson has nothing else to prove, he has fought the best fighters in the world. He likes new challenges and he’s very excited about this fight and I’m sure he’ll be good to go.”

After suffering back-to back losses for the first time in his career, Emelianenko will be looking to overcome the recent setback and defeat Henderson, in hopes of adding yet another legendary name to his resume.

For Henderson, defeating a legend like Emelianenko will only build his resume, as well and reestablish himself as one the pound-for pound fighters at 40 years-old. But for this bout, a championship is not as important for either man as pride is.

Jon Jones: UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Says His Firs Title Defense Will be Against ‘Rampage’ Jackson

Bleacher Report’s Tony Preston:

Following UFC 130, Dana White said Quinton “Rampage” Jackson would get the next shot at the UFC light-heavyweght title if he was healthy. According to a report by MMA Junkie, Jon Jones has said he will fight Rampage.

“I’ll be fighting Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson next. I’m not allowed to discuss the date because I didn’t sign a contract, but yeah, it will be very soon.”

When asked when he’d like to return, Jones just had one thing to say, “September.”

With two events currently on the UFC schedule for September, one of them a UFC Fight Night, it would appear Jones will put his title on the line against Rampage at UFC 135. The fight will probably headline the Denver, Colo., event.

Both fighters have been battling hand injuries. Jones has an issue with one of his hand ligaments and was expected to have surgery until a doctor decided surgery was not necessary.

Jackson has an undisclosed hand injury that led to the Nevada State Athletic Commission suspending him until Nov. 25, but an orthopedic doctor can clear him early.

Former UFC champion Tito Ortiz is having a bad week on twitter. First, he has a spat with his girlfriend Jenna Jameson and then he has his phone hacked and a nude picture of him is sent to his followers.

Ortiz and Jameson recently took to twitter to air the differences. The folks over at FightOpinion compiled the better tweets:

Tito Ortiz:

@FreakyFella no sick of being treated like s**t with no support. U get to read half the s**t I go though.

Not nuts just done with the lies and deceit. The hand I was holding was bring me down now a will let go

Jenna Jameson:

I love @titoortiz and will fight for him forever. No matter what he sais

My children are my main priority, lies about fatherhood is yucky. Just be a dad and stop partying and train…your fight is soon.

I want the real @titoortiz back. He used to be loving, I get how a lot of you think I’m garbage, but he’s me babies daddy, and I love him

Ortiz’s struggles with twitter continued on Thursday when, according to TMZ.com,  a nude picture of Ortiz showed up on his twitter feed. The picture was quickly taken down with Ortiz then posting, “Someone hack my f**king phone.”

Ortiz will be fighting for his UFC career when he meets Ryan Bader at UFC 132 on July 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. UFC president Dana White has said that a loss at UFC 132 would most likely result in the promotion releasing the former champion.

Jesus, Tito is Starving for Attention; *Claims* Hacker Posted Naked Photos From His Phone On Twitter

(“I’m so embarrassed. Thank God I was tanned, shaven and oiled up in that totally unposed photo.”)

*Someone* posted a naked photo of Tito Ortiz on the former UFC light heavyweight champion’s Twitter account today and he *says* he isn’t impressed. The photo was taken down moments later by Ortiz, who tweeted that his phone had been hacked.

It seems like Tito might be following in the footsteps of a handful of politicians who claim hackers did the same to them in recent days.

It seems like Tito might be following in the footsteps of a handful of politicians who claim hackers did the same to them in recent days.

Last week New York Congressman Anthony Weiner allegedly sent a photo of his junk to a female college student from Seattle. He claimed that while the photo did appear on his Twitter feed, he did not send it.

When asked if the photo was of him, Weiner joked that he, “wished the photo was him,” before explaining that it could have been a shot of his family jewels.

“We don’t know for sure [if it was me]. The photograph doesn’t look familiar to me, but a lot of people who have been looking at this stuff on my behalf are cautioning me that stuff gets manipulated… I can’t say for sure,” he told MSNBC.

Seriously, you don’t know what your own penis looks like? Do you shower and go to the bathroom in the dark?

Then, last weekend, a photo depicting a man naked from the waist down was posted on the Twitter account of Niagara Falls, Ontario Progressive Conservative party candidate George Lepp, where it remained undiscovered by him for nearly 30 minutes. Lepp claimed that his smartphone malfunctioned and took the photo from the pocket of his pants. Apparently he has the new X-Ray App.

I chalk those two cases up to technologically retarded people who shouldn’t have cell phones trying to act like teenagers and it biting them in the ass. What’s Tito’s excuse?

The question is, if Tito’s phone was really hacked, why does he have naked photos of himself on his phone?

Maybe one of the guys at Big Bear posted them as a prank while he was in the shower or training. At least I hope they did, because if Tito is pulling a publicity stunt, it’s really just getting sad. Even Jenna thinks so and she WAS his publicity stunt the last few years.

Nick Diaz to Pass on Boxing

Recently, Nick Diaz and his manager, Cesar Gracie, have publicly campaigned for a professional boxing match.

First, they called out Fernando Vargas. Then, when that did not materialize, they turned their attention to Jeff Lacy. Lacy picked up on the story and accepted the challenge.

Not so fast, according to Strikeforce President Scott Coker.

“I believe that’s been worked out,” Coker said in regards to Diaz attempting to box. “I think that he should be fighting in MMA.”

As for when the enigmatic welterweight champion will step back in the cage, Coker was not exactly sure.

“We traditionally fight Nick three times a year,” Coker said, “and he’s already fought twice. We’ll probably fight him again before the end of the year.”

Las Vegas Challengers

Strikeforce’s prospect show will be moving to a new, permanent home.

Since May 2009, the series has moved from location to location with most of the cards originating from Northern California. Now, following the June 24 show in Kent, Wash., all Strikeforce Challengers shows will take place in Las Vegas at the Palms Casino.

Coker explained how the change came about.

“Previously, we couldn’t come to Vegas for obvious reasons,” the Strikeforce CEO said, noting the UFC’s presence in the city, “and the Palms always wanted more fights.”

The first show at the new home will be on July 22 and will feature the third match-up between Roger Bowling and Bobby Voelker.

Bowling won the first bout by technical decision when he could not continue after an eye poke from Voelker, and Voelker rebounded to win the second contest by TKO.

Mitrione on Ortiz

At the recent UFC fighter summit in Las Vegas, Matt Mitrione nearly got into a physical confrontation with former light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz.

The problem arose due to disparaging comments Mitrione made about Ortiz and his famous wife, Jenna Jameson.

Mitrione is still not letting up on the former champion.

“Who’s that?” Mitrione said, when asked if the disagreement was over. “Oh, I thought he retired already. I didn’t know he was still fighting.”

Batista to MMA?

With the massive pay-per-view success of former World Wrestling Entertainment champion Brock Lesnar, other professional wrestlers have entertained the idea of crossing over to MMA.

Last year, Dave Batista began training at the Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Pleasant Hill, Calif. Publicly, Batista stated that he was negotiating to fight with Strikeforce.

While many were skeptical that Batista would attempt the transition, Coker confirmed that he was negotiating with the former WWE star.

“Absolutely,” Coker said, when asked if he thought Batista was serious about fighting.

“I just haven’t hooked up with him recently, but we’ll have a chat together at some point.”

Next Featherweight Contender

All the recent talk about who Jose Aldo will fight next has revolved around Chad Mendes and Kenny Florian.

Florian, who will be making his featherweight debut at UFC 131 against Diego Nunes, is not the only former UFC lightweight switching down to the lighter weight class.

Tyson Griffin will also be making his debut at 145 lbs. He is set to take on former featherweight title challenger Manny Gamburyan at UFC Live: Marquardt vs. Johnson on June 26.

“I think he’s a tough guy. He’s very well rounded,” Griffin said about Gamburyan.

As for the lower weight class, the twelve time (7-5 record) veteran is prepared.

“I’m moving down in weight, but it’s not my first time fighting down there,” Griffin said. “I know a lot more about diet and nutrition, now so it should be easy.”

Back in 2004, Griffin dropped to 145 pounds and defeated former WEC champion Urijah Faber.

With his name recognition, Griffin may have a chance to make an immediate impact in the division.

“If it puts me in line, that would be awesome,” Griffin said about potentially facing Aldo.
