Tom Breese on Dillon Danis: ‘He’s Got to be More Humble’

So he knows a thing or two about trading leather. Danis has won multiple jiu-jitsu titles, but he hasn’t had an MMA bout. That hasn’t stopped Conor […]

Just four months after he sent Cathal Pendred into retirement, Tom Breese (10-0) looked to capitalize on his momentum by putting on a strong showing against Keita Nakamura (31-7-2, 1 NC).

Breese remains undefeated, but this fight was no easy task.

Nakamura threw out a kick, but Breese was able to avoid it. “K-Taro” got a body lock in an attempt to take his opponent down. He completed the takedown and moved to mount. Breese quickly used a leg lock attempt to escape, but he was held against the fence until referee Leon Roberts broke the clinch. Breese landed a left hand and Nakamura quickly went back to a clinch. “K-Taro’s” takedown attempt was easily thwarted and Breese landed an inside elbow.

Breese threw a straight left and the two engaged in yet another clinch. Nakamura dragged his opponent to the center of the Octagon and scored a takedown. Nakamura moved to mount and once again, Breese used a leg lock attempt to reverse the position. Breese landed some punches in half guard, which bloodied the nose of Nakamura. He landed some stiff elbows to follow up as “K-Taro” went for an omoplata. Nakamura ended the round in side control.

Breese threw out his jab early in the final stanza. Like the first two rounds, Breese reversed Nakamura’s top control with a leg lock attempt. “K-Taro” swept his opponent and wound up in half guard. The round ended with Breese getting his opponent in a reverse triangle position as he landed some punches.

All three judges gave the fight to Breese.

Final Result: Tom Breese def. Keita Nakamura via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
