Lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has been talking up a potential move to MMA. The talented boxer got people talking when he was seen hitting mitts with Darren Till. He then went on to claim he had spoken with Conor McGregor and the pair had arranged some type of training together. ‘Notorious’ has now went on record to deny his claims, speaking to BT Sport, he said.

“I know Tyson (Fury) has been talking about it a lot. Tyson keeps saying me and him spoke and I said I’d train him. I’ve never spoken to Tyson in my life, so I don’t know why he’s saying that. It’s not a bad story so I let it roll…Tyson is a good man, a great boxer a phenomenal boxer. Probably the best natural boxer in the heavyweight division at this time. So, you know, who knows? I wouldn’t say he is just saying he’d do it and not do it, like a lot of them do. I say Tyson probably would do it in time, so you never know.”

Whilst the pair have
yet to meet or speak, training with Fury is not something McGregor wouldn’t want
to do. The 31-year-old boxer will be at UFC 246 this weekend and the UFC
superstar says maybe the two will discuss working together.

“Maybe we could set something up. I wouldn’t be holding mitts for him or anything. But if he wanted to be trained by me or educated by me, I’d have to see him in certain positions and situations. I’d need him to spar a heavyweight. I’d need to see him deal with the leg kicks. I’d need to see him in the bottom position. And then I’d assess that and send him off. Tell him what work he needs to do and then off he goes. That could probably be something I could do for Tyson. I found it funny that he was saying we talked. He’s a mad man Tyson. I’ve never spoke to the man in my life.”

Will we ever see Tyson Fury compete inside the UFC octagon?

It doesn’t look like Tyson Fury’s professional wrestling career is over just yet. Fury defeated Braun Strowman at the WWE’s big Saudi Arabia event last year, his first professional wrestling match.

However, according to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, an account who has broken several professional wrestling news stories over the years, Fury is actually being considered for a WrestleMania appearance in April. It all depends on the result of his upcoming rematch with Deontay Wilder in February.

Fury and Wilder will run things back for the WBC heavyweight title in Las Vegas on February 22. Per the report, Vince McMahon will only make Fury a WrestleMania offer if he wins the fight. He doesn’t see the logic in throwing millions of dollars at a guy for a WrestleMania spot coming off a loss.

“Lots of speculation regarding Tyson Fury & WrestleMania. Source said his fight at MGM Grand vs. Deontay Wilder on February 22 is crucial to him appearing in Tampa. If Wilder wins, Vince isn’t throwing $$ at a guy who just lost on PPV. So to a degree, the ball is in Fury’s court.”

In their first fight, Fury and Wilder fought to a controversial draw in December of 2018. Despite many believing Fury should’ve been given the nod, Wilder retained his title with the draw decision. After a pair of victories from both men since, they’ll run things back in, arguably, the biggest boxing bout of the year.

What do you think about Fury possibly competing at WrestleMania?

The rematch is now official. ESPN reports that the highly-anticipated rematch between WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury has been confirmed by both Top Rank and Premier Boxing Champions today (Fri. December 27, 2019).

The bout goes down on February 22 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, with tickets set to go on sale Saturday. As for the broadcast, it will be a joint pay-per-view (PPV) between ESPN and PBC partner FOX. Wilder had this to say on the rematch being made official.

“I’m happy and I’m excited that the rematch is finally happening,” said Wilder. “I want to give the fans what they want to see. I’ve been doing it with my last three outings — Fury, [Dominic] Breazeale and Ortiz. They’ve been spectacular events — from my ring walks where I gather all the energy of the people, to my uniforms that I wear to help spread that energy.

“Then I give them what they all come for — the knockouts, and my knockouts have been amazing. I proved myself the first time and I’m ready to do it again. It was a very controversial fight. I promise my fans that there won’t be any controversy with this one. I’m going to finish it.”

Wilder has successfully defended his title twice since his fight with Fury last year, downing both Dominic Breazeale and Luis Ortiz via knockout. As for Fury, he has also picked up two big wins, finishing German adversary Tom Schwartz before earning a grueling decision win over Otto Wallin. Fury also commented on the rematch being made official.

“There’s no more ducking and diving,” Fury said. “The date has been set, and the ‘Bomb Squad’ is about to be securely detonated and the real champion crowned as the world watches on for the most anticipated fight in years. This is unfinished business for me, but come Feb. 22, this dosser will finally get what’s coming to him, and I can’t wait.”

The pair initially met back in December of last year. It seemed as though Fury was winning the bout by outclassing the American, however, Wilder scored the only two knockdowns of the fight, the latter of which nearly ending things before Fury spectacularly got back to his feet and, arguably, won the round.

However, when it was all said and done, the judges turned in a Draw on the scorecards. Now, the boxing world will finally get the answer of who is the better heavyweight boxer between the pair.

Who are you picking in the rematch between Fury and Wilder?
