Koscheck suffered a broken orbital and was driven to Boston, Massachusetts by his training partner, Bob Cook to have surgery. Koscheck’s pre-fight plans of flying out of Montreal early Sunday were foiled by Georges St. Pierre’s first round punch to Koscheck’s eye and the subsequent repeated jabs that lasted over 4 and a half rounds. It was determined that an air pocket formed behind the eye, therefore making it unsafe for Koscheck to get on an airplane. Josh Koscheck was humbled by the entire experience in the cage, offering GSP a lengthy hug and words [we can assume] of respect after the punishment he was given.

Our MMA analyst, Steve Cofield of Cagewriter.com and ESPN Radio returns to host MMAFix UFC 123 Betting Odds. Cofield debates the UFC 124 betting odds with guest panelists Damon Martin of MMAWeekly.com and Larry Pepe of ProMMARadio.com.

The three experts weigh in on Thiago Alves in his “final” attempt at cutting weight to 170lbs as Dana White gives him one more chance and he takes on John Howard. Alves is considered a -300 favorite against Howard who is at +220, though both are coming off losses. Alves actually holds two recent back to back losses to the top 2 ranked Welterweights in the world, Jon Fitch and Georges St. Pierre. Howard suffered his first loss in the UFC at UFC on Versus 2, when his fight with Jake Ellenberger was stopped in the 3rd round due to TKO (doctor stoppage). Is the money worth laying down on John Howard or Thiago Alves? Damon Martin and Larry Pepe make their determinations in the video below:

Steve Cofield also asks the panel if +300 is worth staking on Josh Koscheck in his Main Event title contendor shot against UFC Welterweight Champion, Georges St. Pierre, who is about -400 to -500 in online sportsbooks. Check the video below if Kos would be a good bet.

Ariel Helwani is in Montreal, Quebec Canada covering the UFC 124: St. Pierre Vs. Koscheck. The 2010 Fighter’s Only MMA Journalist of the Year was able to snag Dana White for an in depth interview and argue with him a bit over who the most famous Canadian athlete really is. Helwani is a native of Canada and held his own debating with White that Wayne Gretzky may have more fame than GSP, but White maintains, Georges St. Pierre is known everywhere, especially noting his popularity due to the internet (which Dana so loathes as a media outlet).

Helwani also asks White about his relationship with Josh Koscheck after six weeks of filming for TUF 12. White is honest that their relationship has improved but reiterates that Koscheck is still a dick. Helwani also informs Dana White that Bellator will not allow Jonathon Brookins to fight for UFC due to the lawsuit and also tells him he’s heard about big rumors over an announcement soon for UFC in Brazil. White is surprised by both questions, saying he’s ready for a legal battle with Bellator and as for the Brazil rumors…he doesn’t know. Hmph….
