Brock Lesnar made an immediate impact on the heavyweight division when he debuted at UFC 81.

The former WWE star impressed people with his size, athleticism and freakish strength, forcing fans to accept his status as one of the most dominant fighters in mixed martial arts.

However, those once-believers immediately changed their perspective on the 265-pound Lesnar once he was exposed to be human and became skeptical of his credibility and passion as a fighter. His victory over Shane Carwin might of shown his resilience, but the loss to Cain Velasquez potentially damaged his aura.

The former UFC heavyweight champion has always faced criticism throughout his career, but when it comes to his ability to take a punch, Lesnar believes his skills are just fine.

“I think it’s a bunch of bulls,” Lesnar told MMAFighting.com. “The fights that I’ve gotten hit, I’ve stood and banged with Heath Herring, Randy Couture, Frank Mir—I’ve taken a lot of shots. I’ve never been knocked out cold.”

Lesnar’s status will be questioned once again when he is put in the spotlight next weekend to face accomplished kickboxer, Alistair Overeem at UFC 141

Lesnar is aware of the scrutiny from fans whenever he competes in the Octagon, however, he doesn’t see any reason to listen to the critics. After all, he said it becomes part of the territory when you are facing the best competition.

“There’s criticism. I don’t know if it’s just that people don’t like to see other people succeed, or just if they want to see them fail,” he said. “Any time you’re on top, whatever it is, and I don’t care if it’s the business world or it’s in farming or fighting—and those are all things that I’m in—there’s people out to get you.”

Lesnar and Overeem headline UFC 141 next Friday night, live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Presented here is a fight simulation of the UFC 141 matchup between Brock Lesnar and Alistair Overeem in UFC Undisputed 3, which is set to hit the stores in early 2012.

Lesnar has not set foot into the Octagon for more than a year since he lost his heavyweight crown to Cain Velasquez at UFC 121.

Also, a stint as coach on TUF (The Ultimate Fighter) Season 13 series was curtailed due to a reoccurrence of diverticulitis; however, after extensive surgery to combat the disease, the former NCAA standout wrestler is back in the fray and raring to go.

Nevertheless, standing in his path for another shot at UFC gold is former Strikeforce heavyweight champion and fellow behemoth and lethal striker Alistair “The Demolition Man” Overeem.

As things stand, both the fans and the media alike are all over the place in their predictions on how this matchup will play out.

Now, that’s where UFC Undisputed 3 simulation comes in—the video has already predicted who wins and who loses between Lesnar and Overeem come fight night.

UFC 141 is scheduled for Dec. 30, 2011.

In the co-main event at the UFC’s year-end celebration pay-per-view, fast-rising lightweight contender Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone will take on the always dangerous Nate Diaz.

This UFC 141 matchup has the potential to be the Fight of the Year with both expected to excite the fans and bring the action to their opponent.

If Cerrone is to escape this trap game with little to no damage to his reputation, he is going to need to overcome these seven obstacles.

Cerrone: Diaz Done F*cked With the Wrong Cowboy

(“You got a pretty mouth, Nate.”)

During Steve Cofield’s Vegas-based ESPN Radio show today, Donald Cerrone recalled an incident he had recently with Nate Diaz,  and to put it lightly, he isn’t impressed with the level of disrespect his UFC 141 opponent showed him.

According to Cerrone, the confrontation happened at the open workouts for UFC 137 and he had no warning that it was going to go south quickly when he approached his teammate and friend Leonard Garcia who happened to be talking to Nate at the time.

Here’s what “Cowboy” says went down:

”Leonard’s my best friend; he’s my brother and he was over there talkin’ to the dude — if someone doesn’t like you, you’re not gonna talk to their best friend, you know what I’m sayin’…. you’re not gonna hang out with them — so Leonard’s over there talking with the dude, and I said, ‘Oh shit, I’ll go over there.’ They were laughing and joking around so when I go over and introduce myself and go, ‘What’s up Nate? I’m ‘Cowboy,’” Cerrone explained. “He fuckin’ slapped my hand away and called me a punk-ass motherfucker and told me to ‘get on.’ I was like, ‘Shit, alright.’ I don’t know what to say to the dude. I don’t know what his point… I guess he doesn’t want to be cordial. He just wanted to be a punk and… go ahead.”

He says that he was so taken aback by Diaz that he found himself at a loss for words at the time and that Diaz quickly exited the room after the incident happened, but points out that when they’re locked in the cage together December 30, there’s nowhere Nate can run.

“I was getting ready to fight Dennis Siver and then he walked away. He just took off after that. It kind of caught me by surprise. I don’t know anything about the guy. I just know that [he and Nick] just wake up pissed off all the time for no reason. It just seems like they’re always mad. Whatever he does to get his mind ready for the fight, it must be it.”

As Cofield points out, Cerrone has used the experience as motivation to train hard for the fight and he affirmed it during the countdown show.

“If you want to talk shit to me, you’re just gonna enrage me and piss me off,” said Cerrone. “So feed my fucking flame. That’s what I say. Let’s go!”

As far as Nate’s older brother goes, Cerrone couldn’t resist taking a jab at Nick’s incoherent ramblings at the press conference following his fight with BJ Penn.

“I was exploding into laughter on some of the comments,” he said. “I was waiting for someone to take the mic away from him, like, ‘That’s enough before you completely ruin yourself. That’ll be enough out of you.’ I was just surprised he kept going on about compensation and no one knew what the fuck he was talking about.”

‘Countdown to UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem’ Full Episode [VIDEOS]

(Props: IronForgesIron)

FUEL TV aired the latest UFC Countdown special last night, previewing next Friday’s UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem pay-per-view card. The stuff about Brock Lesnar‘s latest recovery from diverticulitis and new love of swimming is fairly straightforward — once again, Pat Barry is on hand talk about what a monster Brock is — but if you’re a fan of Alistair Overeem, the look back at his rise in the sport and his career rebirth after a rough stretch in his personal/professional life is worth watching. Overeem’s sights are now set on a UFC belt to complete his collection; of course, Brock Lesnar is just as motivated to defend his turf and play the spoiler in the Reem’s Octagon debut.

Part two of the special is after the jump, featuring more tough talk from Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Nate “Not Your Friend, Buddy” Diaz, and a look at the redneck paradise of Cerrone’s New Mexico ranch.

With Brock Lesnar vs. Alistair Overeem just a little more than a week away, THQ has provided a fight video simulation of the UFC 141 main event.

Truth be told, I have never been a big fan of these simulations. However, I couldn’t help but feel intrigued by this one. I think this can only mean that I’m beyond excited to see these two beasts get it on next Friday night at UFC 141.

So after simulating the 25 bouts and coming up with some kind of average outcome, THQ determined that Overeem had a slight edge, winning via first-round knockout. Other highlights from the simulated fights:

* Lesnar attempted a total of 287 takedowns
* Two of Lesnar’s 12 wins were by submission via arm triangle
* Overeem won by knockout 92 percent of the matches he won.

Anyhow, if you’re into this sort of thing, and if you’re as intrigued by this fight as I am, I suspect you’ll enjoy watching the video below.
