These “Quick Breaks” are short breakdowns of upcoming fights. In a summed up focus of strengths, weaknesses and variables, this will analyze what could happen in the fight, and end with this writer’s prediction.

Through the fire and flames has finally emerged the next challenger for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, as Jon Jones takes on Vitor Belfort at UFC 152. A fight that was meant to showcase Jones taking on top contender Dan Henderson at UFC 151 has been the controversy of 2012, and has left in its wake a vilified champion, a cancelled event and a scramble to replace fights.

Now, Jones will put his belt on the line again, but against an opponent many don’t deem worthy.

In the blue corner you have Vitor Belfort. “The Phenom” is a huge underdog going into this fight, but Belfort is no stranger to the pressure. He was a young champion, like Jones, and now hopes to test the old against the new. His hand speed and power are always dangerous and pose a unique challenge for Jones—a fighter we haven’t seen under a fast attack or much pressure.

In the red corner you have the champion, Jon Jones. “Bones” had been preparing for a wrestler with a big right hand, but Belfort is a different striker than Hendo. As always, Jones will have a reach advantage and will use his striking to keep distance. While Jones’ striking isn’t the most technical or precise, it is dangerous and unorthodox. His wrestling and jiu-jitsu will help him on the ground, but he will want to stay on his feet initially.

Jones will want to use that reach, especially his kicks, to stop Belfort’s efforts. It wouldn’t be surprising if Jones even tried to throw some hard front kicks a la Anderson Silva.

The question is will Belfort charge him with the ferocity that he has shown in other fights. This opens him up to some deadly counters and elbows from close range, but Jones has shown he sometimes will fall back when being attacked.

If Belfort can throw fast combos and push the pace and pressure, Jones could be swarmed if he doesn’t intelligently defend himself. Jones has shown his resilience though, and will want to prove to the fans that his actions and skills in the cage are what truly matter.

Prediction: Jon Jones wins via TKO or submission within two rounds.

UFC 152 will come to your television screen live from the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Saturday evening.

The event kicks off with three fights for free on Facebook, and then moves to FX for four more preliminary fights. The five-fight PPV telecast will begin promptly at 10 p.m. ET and is headlined by two championship bouts.

Jon Jones defends his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship against Vitor Belfort, and Demetrious Johnson squares off against Joseph Benavidez in the first ever UFC Flyweight Championship fight.

After you make your predictions and settle in for the event, make sure to have a few cold ones ready for the fights and play along with the UFC 152 drinking game. That is, of course, if you are of legal drinking age.

Drink one…each time Mike Goldberg is not back to the mic in time after taking a bathroom break. This is a Joe Rogan-created rule. When Rogan takes over duties when a fighter is walking to the cage it means that Goldberg has not returned from the bathroom.

Drink one…for each knockout and submission on the card.

Drink one…when a fighter has brazenly put his own face on his banner. It is a disturbing trend that needs to end.

Drink one…every time you hear “he’s rocked”.

Drink one…each time Walel Watson’s height is discussed. At 5’11”, he is one of the tallest in the Bantamweight division, and they like to make sure the fans know that just in case they are blind.

Drink one…for the missing “m” in Jimy Hettes name. Seriously, where did it go?

Finish your drink…if Sean Sherk is mentioned during the Evan Dunham fight. Because we should all continue to try and forget the judging injustice that occurred at UFC 119.

Finish your drink before the pay-per-view broadcast begins…

Drink one…for Matt Hamill’s choice of entrance music.

Finish your drink…salute the Old Glory, and recite the Pledge of Allegiance if Brain Stann defeats Michael Bisping. It is the patriotic thing to do.

Drink one…and yell “Oil Can Harry!” every time they refer to Demetrious Johnson as Mighty Mouse.

Drink one…every time Team Alpha Male is referenced. Because you too are an alpha male (or female).

Drink one…for every mention of God between Jones and Belfort. You should probably start praying right now.

Pour one out…in remembrance of UFC 151. The show that Jon Jones and Greg Jackson killed.

Finish your drink…order another, finish it, and call a cab if Jones’ eyelid gets cut by Belfort‘s glove.

This is only a game. Please remember to drink responsibility and enjoy the fights.

UFC 152 marks the beginning of a string of “must-see” UFC pay-per-views. Featuring two title fights, the card is stacked from top to bottom. It’s the first card since the UFC 151 debacle and will be Jon Jones’ fourth title defense. His opponent, Vitor …

UFC 152 marks the beginning of a string of “must-see” UFC pay-per-views. Featuring two title fights, the card is stacked from top to bottom. It’s the first card since the UFC 151 debacle and will be Jon Jones’ fourth title defense. His opponent, Vitor Belfort, is a former UFC light heavyweight champion and has been one of the most beloved fighters in the promotion.

The co-main event will decide the first UFC flyweight champion as Demetrious Johnson takes on Joseph Benavidez. Both Johnson and Benavidez were challengers for the UFC bantamweight belt before dropping to flyweight.

Michael Bisping and Brian Stann will also lock horns in a middleweight bout. Both fighters have been on the cusp of the middleweight top 10, and a win this weekend will help cement their arguments as being top guys in the UFC.

With some staff off in Toronto covering the event live, we bring you the abridged version of the staff predictions.

It’s no secret that Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson will make history on Saturday night.

After all, the co-main event fight between the two will determine the first-ever flyweight champion in the UFC. That’s a weighty thing, even if the pair occupy the lowest possible end of the current UFC spectrum.

Benavidez talked to Bleacher Report in Toronto about his fight, his preparation and much more.
