After Clay Guida lost to Brian Ortega at UFC 199 last Saturday night at The Forum in Inglewood, California, a brawl broke out between UFC star Nate Diaz and Clay’s older brother, Jason Guida.

Regarding the wild incident involving Diaz and Guida backstage at the event, Team Alpha Male coach Justin Buchholz, who witnessed the brawl live, stated the following.

“It was the first time I cornered with Clay’s brother, Jason Guida. Like a 285 lbs huge f*cking dude,” said Buchholz. “After Clay got stopped, doctors were coming in and corners were being kept outside the cage and everything. I turn around and one of the UFC stools was just shattered in 6 pieces. Jason ripped it to shreds or slammed it, and his brother just got stopped, and was flying off the handle emotionally.”

“We were walking in the back after, and Clay was walking in front,” added Buchholz. “Nate was walking out of the bathroom, and Clay said something to him, but Clay was discombobulated at that time too. He just said something to Nate. He was all like, ‘Man, I’m gonna f*ck you up again’ or something like that.”

As Buchholz explained, Diaz began to talk back and the larger Guida took offense when he said, “What, motherf*cker? Are you joking?”

“Then Jason and Nate got into it. I don’t know what happened, but Jason bull rushes Nate and tries to put him up against the wall,” said Buchholz. “Nate has got him in a clinch. Like 50 people from the UFC come rushing into this thing. I’m standing in the middle like, ‘Nooooo!'”

“It was going down. Clay was grabbing Jason, a bunch of people grabbing Nate. They were trying to f*cking kill each other for a good 30 or 40 seconds,” added Buchholz. “They get broken up, and Clay’s got Jason, people got Nate. I’m looking at Nate, like ‘f*ck! We weren’t trying to fight. I didn’t know what happened.'”

Another crazy brawl featuring a Diaz brother…

A star was born at UFC 196, or perhaps you could call it finally recognized, as Nate Diaz pounded and choked Conor McGregor out of their headline tilt. Diaz accepted the fight on just 11 days notice, replacing lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos and defeating ‘The Notorious’ in a 170-pound thriller. Not only had the younger of the infamous Diaz duo been fighting top 10 competition for years, including former and future champions, but he’d had a finish rate of 11 from 14 victories.

Nate and Nick have also been consistently in the headlines, and quite often for controversial brawls and backstage scuffles. Dating back to the KJ Noons melee in Elite XC, where the classic line ‘Don’t be scared homie’ was born, to the Strikeforce Nashville brawl with Jake Shields, and then of course the Khabib Nurmagomedov crowd fight during the WSOF 22 show, the Diaz bros were all there in the thick of it.

Add in their long history of trash talk, anti-BS realism and never back down style, and you have a recipe for success that could easily have come to fruition years earlier. The difference between now, as both Diaz brothers are experiencing super stardom, and when they were somewhat under the radar, is that there’s a lot more at risk by getting in unsanctioned street fights and brawls.

That’s why it was particularly interesting to hear rumours of a brawl in the tunnels at UFC 199 this past Saturday June 4. The Michael Bisping vs. Luke Rockhold headlined event went off with a bang, and seemed to be the catalyst for a number of crazy events, including the reported brawl between Clay Guida’s team and Nate Diaz.

Clay Guida

Guida, nicknamed ‘The Carpenter,’ had fought against undefeated prospect Brian Ortega in a featherweight feature prelim bout. It was a bad night for Guida, who suffered a brutal third round knockout loss to Ortega, sending him to two straight losses and raising questions about how many fights he may have left in the tank.

It was at this point that things really got heated, as an eye witness account reveals exactly what happened backstage at UFC 199.

Dan Henderson Calls For Michael Bisping Rematch And If You Don’t Support This You Are Garbage

Fact: The single greatest moment in the history of MMA was captured in the above image, on the night of July 11, 2009 at UFC 100. It came approximately three minutes and eighteen seconds into the second round of a fight between Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping, and as luck would have it, so did nearly every red-blooded American who happened to be witnessing it.

A little backstory. You see, prior to this orgasm-inducing moment, Henderson and Bisping had been engaged in a war of words while coaching opposing teams as part of the ninth season of The Ultimate Fighter. And by war of the words, I mean that Bisping spent the majority of the show talking trash, while Hendo opted to just kind of stand around silently while counting down the moments until he would lay a whoopin’ on this arrogant Brit’s ass. When the two finally met in the octagon, well, you know what happened.

Last weekend at UFC 199, both Henderson and Bisping picked up huge, incredibly violent wins over Hector Lombard and Luke Rockhold, respectively. But with the former nearing 50 and the latter suddenly finding himself the middleweight champion, rumblings have once pop up around the web of a potential rematch between the two.

It all started when MMAWeekly’s Erik Fontanez, after speaking with Henderson’s camp, tweeted out the following:

The reports were later confirmed by Henderson’s camp, to which Bisping immediately took to Twitter himself to vaguely respond:

Bisping then doubled down during an interview with ESPN by claiming that “As of right now, Luke Rockhold will not be my first defense. That’s a fact. I had to go away and beat three more guys before I got a second shot at Luke. Certainly, after his behavior on Saturday, he should have to go away and do the same. He wasn’t even close.” He also doesn’t seem interested in facing Chris Weidman, which makes sense considering that he’s coming off a loss and shouldn’t have been given an immediate rematch with Rockhold in the first place.

Obviously, a rematch between Bisping and Henderson would make absolutely zero sense from a rankings perspective. Even if he is coming off one of the most brutal wins of his career (which is really saying something for the man), Henderson is a whopping 2-3 in his past five bouts and has been stopped 4 times in 6 defeats dating back to 2013. That being said, DANA PLEASE MAKE THIS HAPPEN AND WE’LL NEVER SPEAK ILL OF YOU AGAIN. Anyone worth their salt seems to agree:

So there you have it: Hendo vs. Bisping is the match that the people want, and since that’s all that matters when handing out title shots, we fully expect to see this fight booked before the weekend is over. Make it happen, Dana.

Rumor: Nate Diaz Got Into Backstage Brawl At UFC 199

It’s no secret that last weekend’s (Sat., June 4, 2016) UFC 199 from The Forum in Inglewood, California, was a veritable showcase of blockbuster MMA action, starting with Dan Henderson’s legendary knockout of Hector Lombard in his home state, to Michael Bisping’s own shocking knockout of Luke Rockhold, to finally the jaw-dropping announcement of Brock Lesnar’s

And to top if all off, the confirmation of the rescheduled rematch between Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor was revealed for the main event of August 20’s UFC 202, with Diaz appearing in the crowd to elicit a huge response from his West Coast fans.

The polarizing star also made quite an impact backstage at the event as well, as a report surfaced from MMA Mad detailing a backstage brawl between Diaz and Jason Guida, brother of longtime veteran Clay Guida, who lost to Brian Ortega at UFC 199. Apparently Evan Rodner, the producer of ‘The Fighter and the Kid’ podcast was on hand to witness what happened:

‘It looked like Nate Diaz got into an altercation with Jason Guida, Clay Guida’s older brother’ Rodner stated. ‘I have no idea what it was over, but all of a sudden there were a ton of bodies entering the tunnels in the back (of the arena). ‘After the scuffle had ended, Diaz walked back into the arena as though nothing had happened. he didn’t give on single f*ck’.

UFC welterweight Nicolas Dalby also reportedly saw the altercation, releasing a photo of his reaction.

Obviously Diaz is willing to throw down with anyone at anytime – whether it’s in the cage or not – and his 2015 scuffle with lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov and his team prove the Stockton slugger’s commitment to stay true to his hard-life roots.

With a blockbuster rematch with McGregor, whom he famously submitted at March’s UFC 196, coming up, Diaz’ star level is at an all-time high, and this isn’t something that’s going to necessarily hurt that in any way, shape, or form.

In fact, it could just help him grow even more popular as heads into his second straight million-plus-dollar payday.
