The wait is over and tonight’s (Sat., November 12, 2016) UFC 205 from Madison Square Garden in New York City is finally here.

Miesha Tate vs. Raquel Pennington:

Mike Drahota:

This women’s bantamweight scrap is a great one to kick off the UFC 205 main card, and I also think it may not be as easy a bout as many believe it will be for Tate, who actually brings a decent amount of pressure into the bout after sort of no-showing her first title defense against Amanda Nunes. Pennington has nothing to lose, and she brings the momentum of a recent hot streak with her as well. However, I still think the wrestling and veteran experience of ‘Cupcake’ should rule the day. Tate by unanimous decision.

Rory Kernaghan:

Tate showed us she had what it takes to be a champion, putting the highly touted Holly Holm to sleep to win the belt. Then, in just her first defense, ‘Cupcake’ got cooked by Nunes at UFC 200. Which version of Tate will we see against Raquel Pennington? In my mind, ‘Rocky’ is gritty and talented, but not dangerous in this scenario. I see Tate cruising to a unanimous decision win here.

Mike Henken:

Tate is coming off of one of the worst performances of her career where she surrendered her title in brutal fashion to Nunes, but I simply feel as if she’s the better fighter in this matchup against Pennington, although “Rocky” has won three straight. “Cupcake” has always had strong wrestling and grappling, and her striking has improved over the years. I expect her to bounce back in New York. Tate by unanimous decision.

Just three days away is the historic UFC 205 pay-per-view extravaganza. Featuring a host of truly incredible fights, the card is riddled with main event worthy stars from top to bottom. The prelims card alone at UFC 205 looks like a stacked PPV or maybe one of the best fight nights we’ve seen for a while. Hoping and most likely to make a big impression in NYC, the promotion has filled their basket with some golden eggs for November 12. Obviously the talk of the town has been focused on the lightweight title clash in the main event.

Facing Conor McGregor in his first lightweight title defense, Eddie Alvarez will look to play the role of ultimate spoiler. If ‘The Notorious’ is victorious, he’ll break that one record that few believed possible to attain. Holding belts in two weight divisions at once would propel McGregor’s career further in to the stratosphere. Perhaps more pivotal in terms of the sport’s future is the Irishman’s plight to double his belt collection in the UFC.

Conor McGregor-Dillon Danis

Dillon Danis’ UFC 205 Prediction

Having been brought in to train Conor McGregor in grappling before UFC 202, BJJ star Dillon Danis is now a mainstay at the featherweight champion’s camp. Once again helping the Irish striker work on his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for UFC 205, Danis has a rather bold prediction for how the fight will go down. Talking to our good friends Submission Radio, Danis says ‘The Silent Assassin’ won’t last as long as Jose Aldo did. ‘Scarface’ got starched in 13 seconds by McGregor at UFC 194 last December.

“I feel like it’ll be a knockout – either late in the first or maybe early second, or it could be a quick one. It could be quicker than Jose Aldo, maybe three seconds. He has a three-second knockout, so it could be really quick because Eddie just charges in and Conor’s too precise. He’s gonna pick him apart and he’s gonna knock him out, I feel. Yeah. Tell Eddie to come try. He’ll see what’s gonna happen. He’s gonna hit him from everywhere and if he tries to come in, he’s gonna elbow his face up. So he’s gonna beat him up bad, I think.”

“He’s Going To Kill This Man”

Talking more on the red-hot topic of UFC 205, Danis says McGregor is looking better than ever. He also discusses Alvarez’s style of trash talk during the eventful UFC 205 media call last week:

“He looks really sharp. I’ve never seen him like this. He looks ready to kill. Like he’s in great shape and he just looks super sharp. I was telling him yesterday, you’re gonna kill this man. I’m ready to see what’s gonna happen. On Saturday he’s gonna make history. I believe in him one hundred percent.”

“He was saying like all this stuff about the ‘little boy belt’ and stuff, but Chad (Mendes) is a better fighter than Eddie Alvarez. Jose Aldo would beat Eddie Alvarez up easy, I mean, who’s the more accomplished fighter? Everybody knows that Conor is. It’s just a sign of fear from Eddie trying to manifest him making fun of Conor or something, just to kind of get his emotions out because he’s scared. We’ll see who the better fighter is. Conor has beaten the better competition and it’s gonna show when he’s two-weight world champion.”

BJJ Champ: Conor McGregor Will KO Eddie Alvarez Cold

Hoping to become the first champion to hold belts in separate divisions at the same time, Conor McGregor faces Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. The November 12 pay-per-view from Madison Square Garden, New York will be a historic event. The first card in the Big Apple will see three titles on the line, but the main event has everyone buzzing the most. ‘The Silent Assassin’ looked incredible in his victory over Rafael dos Anjos. The Brazilian was on track to become one of the greats at 155 pounds, but Alvarez stopped ‘RDA’ with a brutal first round flurry this past July.

Wrestling and submissions could be a big factor in this fight. We’ve seen ‘The Notorious’ finished by grapplers in the past, and of course those power punches of Alvarez are extremely potent. In preparation for his second fight with Nate Diaz, McGregor enlisted the help of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu star Dillon Danis. The multiple world title winning BJJ ace remains working with ‘The Notorious,’ and made an interesting prediction for his upcoming UFC 205 battle.

Danis Predicts KO

Via BloodyElbow.com, BJJ star Dillon Danis predicted a harsh ending for Eddie Alvarez’s first title defense. Contrary to popular belief, Danis says Conor McGregor will outstrike Alvarez even a close range.

“I’m here for him. We help each other. I wouldn’t say I’m just helping him because he also helps me a lot. My mind – everything. We’re a good tag-team, I think. He’s my brother from Ireland. I have my brothers back home in New York and now I have my brothers here too,”

“Conor is going to knock him out cold. As John Kavanagh would say, Conor could knock someone out in a phone booth so if Eddie tries to get close he’s going to get lit up. We’re ready for everything.”

Danis/Diaz

The Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt also got himself in the conversation of Nate Diaz recently. Danis stated he wanted to face Nate Diaz in his first UFC fight, of which there’s been a fair amount of talk about. It seems training with Conor McGregor has rubbed off on Danis, who is a student of Marcelo Garcia, and of the lineage started by Mitsuyo Maeda.

What do you make of Danis’ prediction for the UFC 205 main event?
