Khabib Nurmagomedov addresses some rumors that have been making the rounds about him potentially walking away and going into retirement early. This would be an interesting move for the UFC lightweight champion, who is on top of his division in the Las Vegas-based promotion.

Over the past few weeks, Nurmagomedov’s manager has claimed to have some big and exciting news on the way involving the UFC lightweight champion. What that big news remains to be unseen. However, as a result of this teaser, fight fans have speculated about various things.

The UFC champion spoke with the media in Russia at a press conference on Monday. This is where he talked about the idea he could hang up his gloves.

‘To me every fight is the last fight,’ Nurmagomedov said (H/T to Metro). ‘I feel that in every fight, and then they start calling you and you start getting ready. I have been thinking about it, I’m 30.”

Before Khabib can do anything, he must face his punishment when he finds out actual sanctions from the NSAC later this year. The commission will meet on December 10th to give a decision on his involvement in the UFC 229 brawl with Conor McGregor.

Nurmagomedov continued to state at this presser that he feels that he’s still in the peak of his career. Thus, it’s not time in his mind to hang up his gloves.

‘Life goes on and I don’t want to be beaten. You have to live when you’re on top, and it’s not just me saying this. ‘It’s always been like this. When you’re at your peak, you can never get back to your top form. But for right now, I’m okay. I can go on.’

Joe Rogan Defends Conor McGregor From UFC 229 Criticism

Joe Rogan explains why Conor McGregor didn’t prematurely tap out against Khabib.

Joe Rogan defends former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor from criticism about how his latest fight ended. McGregor lost to UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in the headliner of UFC 229 from Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the fight, Khabib submitted McGregor with what appeared to be a neck crank or face choke. Due to the choke not being under his chin, there have been many fight fans accusing McGregor of giving up early. It would’ve been a rear-naked choke should the choke be under the chin.

Now, the longtime UFC color commentator is sticking up for the former UFC champion. Rogan spoke about the ending of the fight on a recent episode of his podcast. He claims that McGregor did not tap prematurely.

“He did not tap prematurely,” Rogan said.(transcript via Pundit Arena). “He did not defend it though. He was done, he was beaten down. Khabib f**ked him up. There are a lot of people who don’t train who think that that was something that you shouldn’t tap to. They are out of their f**king minds. That is what is called ‘a fulcrum choke’. It’s not necessarily a choke. But it really feels like your head is going to pop off.”

Joe Rogan Breaks Down His Opinion

Rogan continued by stating that McGregor waited until he couldn’t take it anymore more and tapped.

“If you look at what Conor did, he just waited until he couldn’t take it anymore more and tapped. That was a perfect example of a fulcrum choke, a neck crank. It doesn’t have to be under the chin. It can be on the face and you’re going to get f**ked up.”

Rogan also stated that anyone who has doubts about the intensity of the choke needs to try the experience for themselves in order to understand the pain.

“All those folks out there saying it wasn’t a choke need to go have someone apply that to them. They need to start training jiu-jitsu and stop talking about MMA submissions. Not everyone is going to tap to that. Some others, unlike Conor, are going to be better at defending them. People tap.”

Conor McGregor Won’t Drink Proper Twelve With Khabib Or Mayweather

Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor doesn’t want to drink any of his Proper Twelve whiskey with either Floyd Mayweather or Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The post Conor McGregor Won’t Drink Proper Twelve With Khabib Or Mayweather appeared first on LowKickMMA.com.

Conor McGregor has no interest in sharing a swig of his Proper Twelve whiskey with Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Both men are the latest to have defeated the Irishman in combat sports competition. McGregor fought Mayweather inside the boxing ring last year, and was defeated via 10th round TKO. “Mystic Mac” returned to the Octagon at UFC 229 to challenge Khabib for the UFC lightweight title.

“The Eagle” submitted McGregor in the fourth round via neck crank. Despite the setbacks, McGregor seems eager to get right back into the Octagon again. Whether that’s an immediate rematch with Khabib, or another fight, remains to be seen.

In the meantime, McGregor is currently busy promoting his new whiskey endeavor. Speaking with Entrepreneur.com, McGregor was asked which of his former opponents, Mayweather or Khabib, would he share a drink of his Proper 12 whiskey with. McGregor’s response? Neither:

“To be honest, neither,” McGregor said. “I drink Proper No. Twelve with those close to me. My friends and family and those I grew up with, that is whom I like to sit and have a glass of Proper whiskey with.

“I also love to enjoy it with customers and consumers in bars. That has been even more fun than I expected.”

McGregor then explained the decision behind releasing his own brand of whiskey:

“The decision to make my own Irish whiskey was very natural, almost inevitable,” McGregor said. “I’ve always loved Irish whiskey — I’m an Irishman after all. My late grandfather played a huge role in my taste for Irish whiskey.

“It was under his tutelage I began to study and truly appreciate whiskey. Over the years, I’ve been approached by many Irish whiskey brands asking me to endorse their product.

“I have nothing against endorsement deals; I have several with brands and products I believe in, that is no secret. However, something about simply endorsing an Irish whiskey didn’t feel right to me — I wanted to create my own, I wanted to do it my way and I wanted to do it right — from start to finish.

“I love Ireland, its land and its people, I was born here, will raise my children here, and I will die here. I wanted to make an Irish whiskey emblematic of our culture as a whole — something that would make my people proud.”
