Colby Covington is keeping a very close eye on this weekend’s (Sat. March 2, 2019) UFC 235 pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event.

UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley will defend his title against Kamaru Usman. Covington, once the interim 170-pound champion, had been considered to face Woodley. Unfortunately, he lost out on his opportunity, was stripped of his title, and will have to re-earn the title shot. This has sparked some bad blood between he and the UFC brass.

Despite this, Covington is still lobbying hard for a shot at the winner between Woodley and Usman. He is in Las Vegas for this week’s fights and even took it upon himself to crash Usman’s open workout. Covington came wearing his UFC title, a Make America Great Again hat, and a megaphone which he used to shout insults at “The Nigerian Nightmare”.

Check it out here:

Shortly after the incident, Covington was removed from the workout by security. While taking pictures with fans, Covington was interviewed briefly by ESPN’s Ariel Helwani. He took a shot at UFC President Dana White, calling him “Uncle Fester”. “Chaos” claimed he tried to set up a face-to-face meeting with White, but was unsuccessful. Covington labeled the UFC boss a “coward”:

The UFC has put together a tremendous card for fight fans this weekend (Sat. March 2, 2019).

UFC 235 goes down on pay-per-view (PPV) from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In a fight that includes two title bouts, some contests might get overlooked. Take Jeremy Stephens vs. Zabit Magomedsharipov for example. “Lil Heathen’” will attempt to become the first man to defeat Magomedsharipov in the UFC. The two have had some intense confrontations ahead of their clash.

They recently had an interesting backstage run-in at the UFC’s designated fighter hotel. While both men were getting groomed, Zabit attempted to get face-to-face with his opponent. They tried playing it off as if they were trying to compare who had the best beard, but there was certainly a bit of tension in the room.

Check it out here:

Zabit is undefeated in his UFC run and has won three of his four fights under the promotion’s banner by way of submission. Now, he’ll test himself against one of the UFC’s most dangerous veterans. Stephens is one of the hardest punchers in the featherweight division.

He is coming off his first loss in three fights after being finished by Jose Aldo via first-round TKO. Stephens wants to get back in the win column by shutting down the Zabit hype train on one of the biggest cards of the year.
