Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and Kamaru Usman faced off with each other for the first time this week at the UFC 235 media day today.

“The Chosen One” will defend his title for the fourth time on Saturday night against the No. 2-ranked Usman. While many fans are counting “The Nigerian Nightmare” out, this is MMA and anything is possible.

Light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Anthony Smith faced off today during the UFC 235 media day staredowns.

“Bones” Jones will defend his light heavyweight title for the second time in three months this weekend as he faces the massive underdog Smith. It’s interesting to note, this is the first time Jones has competed within five months of his previous fight. The last time he did that was back in 2013.

The main event participants faced off with each other for the first time this week earlier today at the UFC 235 media day (courtesy of ESPN’s Brett Okamoto on Twitter):

UFC 235 takes place March 2 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UFC 235 is less than a week away and the third episode of Embedded was released on the UFC’s YouTube channel.

In the episode, the stars of the event make their ways to Las Vegas as fight night draws closer: light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Smith, welterweight title challenger Kamaru Usman, light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and welterweight king Tyron Woodley. Inside the UFC offices, former welterweight champion Robbie Lawler keeps it low-key, as debuting opponent Ben Askren takes in all of the fight week process. Check-ins feature a who’s-who of the sport, with appearances by UFC 235 competitors Diego Sanchez, Zabit Magomedsharipov, Mickey Gall, Tecia Torres and Gina Mazany.
