Launching a massive straight right in the second round, Usman immediately sent Masvidal to the canvas, before following up with a flurry of brutal hammerfists.

Wrestling Masvidal to the canvas in the opening round with a bodylock, Usman took the opening round, 10-9 on all three judge’s scorecards likely — but he stamped his status as arguably the greatest pound-for-pound fighter on the planet in the second round.

With just over a minute gone in the frame, Usman launched a huge straight right, stopping Masvidal with an incredible shot.

With just over a minute elapsed in the opening round as Weili attempted to find her range with some low kicks, Namajunas sprang with a picture-perfect, left high-kick, sending the incumbent to the canvas — before following up with two hammerfists, forcing referee, Keith Peterson to stop the contest.

Namajunas becomes a two-time strawweight champion, and becomes the first woman in the promotion’s history to lose and then reclaim a title.

And Still. Valentina ‘Bullet’ Shevchenko remains the undisputed UFC flyweight champion, knocking back arguably, on paper at least, the sternest challenge to her throne in the form of former strawweight best, Jessica Andrade.

Utilising her wrestling and grappling accumen throughout the two round affair, Shevchenko repeatedly took Andrade to the canvas from the opening round through to the second, moving to side control with ease on occasion.

Eventually forcing the issue, the Kyrgyzstan native, took side control once more before eventually assuming mounted crucifix. In a very similar display to her UFC 247 win over Katlyn Chookagian last year, Shevchenko began unloading with strikes from the top, slicing Andrade with elbows, forcing referee, Dan Miragliotta to stop the championship contest.

Next up on the UFC 261 main card is a women’s flyweight title fight between Valentina Shevchenko and Jessica Andrade.

Round 1: Andrade misses a leg kick. Shevchenko responds with her own. Andrade blocks a head kick. Andrade rushes forward and connects with a body shot. Shevchenko lands a one two. Andrade attempts a leg kick but Shevchenko counters and takes her down. Andrade gets to her feet but is taken down right away. Andrade gets to her feet and lands some elbows. Shevchenko takes her down and lets go as she attempts a head kick but Andrade blocks. Shevchenko starts to unload on Andrade and looks for a takedown and gets it. Andrade gets to her feet briefly but is taken down as Shevchenko looks to sink in the rear naked choke. It isn’t locked properly and Andrade escapes and gets to her feet. But it’s the same result as Shevchenko takes her down again as the round ends.

Round 2: Shevchenko takes Andrade again and is in side control. She manages to control the Brazilian this time as she racks up the top time. Andrade gets to her feet and looks to slam Shevchenko off the clinch. Shevchenko does well to defend though. Shevchenko trips her and is in the crucifix position now. She lands a number of punches and elbows before the referee stops the action!

Just seventeen seconds deep into the opening round his main card rematch against Uriah Hall at UFC 261, former middleweight champion, Chris ‘The All American’ Weidman suffered a catastrophic leg break, as he attempted to land a leg kick on the Spanish Town native.

Taking the centre of the Octagon, Weidman attmepted to find a home for a leg kick off his right leg, catching Hall right below the knee, unfortunately snapping his leg. Stepping back on his right foot, Weidman immediately collapsed to the canvas, with referee, Herb Dean waving off the fight.
