Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey may be ready to pack away her wrestling boots and once again strap on the four-ounce gloves for a return to the Octagon in 2024.

After years away from the MMA game, ‘Rowdy’ may be looking for a comeback as the UFC closes in on its 300th event next year. That is according to an anonymous source close to the current WWE Superstar. In an interview with DailyMail, the source claims that Rousey is looking to finish up her commitments with the sports entertainment behemoth and is strongly considering a UFC return.

“She just had a match at Summerslam and is looking to wind down her time and commitments with the WWE and she is now focusing on potentially making a run to have one last fight in the UFC and compete at UFC 300 when that presents itself sometime next year,” the source said.

They also added that Ronda Rousey is “at a current crossroads in her life and career as she is looking to see what she might want to do next.

Ronda Rousey Reportedly Ready to Add Another Addition to Her Family

Ronda Rousey has not competed inside the Octagon since suffering back-to-back knockout losses against Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes. Prior to that, ‘Rowdy’ won 12 straight, all by way of finish with 11 coming in the opening round. After her first-round loss to the ‘Lioness’ at UFC 207, Rousey walked away from the sport and ultimately signed with WWE shortly after.

In 2021, Ronda Rousey gave birth to her first child, La’akea Makalapuaokalanip? Browne, with husband and former UFC standout Travis Browne. Anyone who follows her on social media knows how important being a mom is to the former bantamweight world champion. So much so that she is reportedly interested in adding another bundle of joy to her household.

“She really wants to do it all [career-wise], but in the next few months don’t be caught off guard that she is having another kid because that is something she feels is one of the most important things to happen for her again,” the source added.

Dana White recently debunked Ronda Rousey’s rumored return for UFC 300 next year, but it wouldn’t be the first time the UFC President has flat-out lied to protect some of the promotion’s impending surprises. And with Amanda Nunes no longer terrorizing the bantamweight division, there is no better time for ‘Rowdy’ to step back into the cage.

Ronda Rousey won't fight at UFC 300 next year no shot Dana White

Amid rumors earlier this summer regarding a return to the UFC for former bantamweight champion, Ronda Rousey, promotional president, Dana White has claimed there is “no shot” the inaugural titleholder makes a return at UFC 300 next year.

Rousey, the first undisputed bantamweight champion in the history of the organization, has been sidelined from professional mixed martial arts competition since headlining UFC 207 back in December 2016, suffering a stunning round round TKO loss against former two-weight champion, Amanda Nunes.

Prior to that, the Riverside native headlined an Australia event against Holly Holm, dropping a thunderous second round high-kick KO loss to the Albuquerque striker, with the defeat snapping Judoka star, Rousey’s perfect 12-0 professional record.

However, in the time since the retirement of the above-mentioned, Nunes back in June, Rousey, a current WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) performer, has been linked to a return to the Octagon, particularly in the form of a potential featherweight division birth.

Dana White claims Ronda Rousey has no intention of making a return to UFC

And according to the abovenoted, White, Rousey, who is expected to end her tenure with the WWE next year prior to WrestleMania in April, has no intention of making a comeback at a monumental UFC 300 event.

“There’s no shot,” Dana White told assembled media of a Ronda Rousey return after UFC 292. “She accomplished everything she set out to do.”

“Her dream was to win a UFC championship, then win a WWE championship,” White explained. “And she’s done it. Now, she’s starting a family. Ronda has made so much money and she’s still making a lot of money in sponsorships.” (Transcribed by Bloody Elbow)

Prior to her back-to-back knockout losses, Rousey had turned in successful UFC bantamweight title defenses against Liz Carmouche, Miesha Tate, Sara McMann, Alexis Davis, Cat Zingano, and Bethe Correia.

Chael Sonnen claims the highly-discussed clash between social media moguls Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk will go down at UFC 300 next year.

The idea of Zuckerberg and Musk, two of the most prominent figures in technology, squaring off inside the Octagon still feels like a fever dream, but according to all parties involved, the possibility is very real. During his appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Chael Sonnen doused the fire with another healthy dose of gasoline, claiming that he had spoken to Mark Zuckerberg on the phone before coming on the show.

“Zuckerberg has told me that he has agreed to fight Elon Musk at UFC 300. And it was a very big deal. He kept bringing up the date and going on, ‘Elon could never say he doesn’t have something to do. He could never say that he was busy.’ So what do you want me to do with this? Why don’t you call in? Just call in, and you tell Ariel. ‘Ariel knows how to get a hold of my people.’ That’s what he said. I’m just delivering the message.”

Sonnen insisted that he was telling the truth, adding, “That just happened. [My producer] Ethan is my witness, my son, Thero, my dog, Duke. This is a shoot.”

A Spokesperson for Mark Zuckerberg Denies Phone Call with Chael Sonnen Took Place

However, a spokesperson for the Facebook co-founder suggested that Sonnen was telling a tall tale, saying, “I have confirmed with Mark that he did not call Chael Sonnen.”

UFC 300 currently has no locked-down date, but based on the monthly pay-per-view model that the promotion typically sticks to, the event would likely land in April or May of 2024. That gives both men ample time to prepare for what would be, like it or not, the biggest fight in combat sports history.

The rivalry between Zuckerberg and Musk has escalated in a shockingly short amount of time. All of it seemingly started with Musk taking exception to a report suggesting ‘The Zuck’ was prepping a social media app to compete with Musk’s latest acquisition, Twitter. Musk suggested the two could settle things in a cage which quickly got the attention of Zuckerberg, who responded with a classic Khabib-style response.

From there, things took off with UFC President Dana White telling TMZ Sports that both men were 100% serious about making it happen and suggested the bout could generate a billion dollars.

I think that this will be the biggest fight in the history of the world, and I think it will set a record that will never be broken if it happened. I like putting on fights that people want to see like this,” White said during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.

If Mark Zuckerberg vs. Elon Musk does happen, you can expect to shell out at least $100 to watch it from the privacy of your own home.
