UFC 305 is almost upon us, and MMA News is here to keep you updated with the current odds for Saturday’s lineup.

The upcoming pay-per-view takes place Saturday, August 17, at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. The main card begins at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT, with the preliminary card starting at 6:30 PM ET/3:30 PM PT.

Topping the lineup will be reigning UFC Middleweight Champion Dricus Du Plessis, who is tasked with getting the better of returning great Israel Adesanya if he’s to record a first successful title defense and stall the three-time ambitions of the Nigerian-New Zealander.

Before they go to battle, the co-main event will see another two Oceanic fighters in action. Pursuing a win in his home city is Steve Erceg, who competes again three months on from a narrowly failed title bid opposite Alexandre Pantoja. Hoping to send him to a first career skid is Kai Kara-France.

Also set to make the walk on Saturday night will be the likes of lightweight fan favorite Dan Hooker, heavyweight slugger Tai Tuivasa, and returning welterweight Li Jingliang.

Ahead of the event, you can get some help from the group of experts at MMA News by checking out their predictions for the UFC 305 main card here.

Kamaru Usman is a strong contender and might just be the most confident fighter at the Scottrade Center on Sunday when UFC Fight Night 124 will unfold. To what does he owe the confidence? Well, for starters, his record currently is 11 wins and just one loss. His last ten fights have all been victories and he is looking pretty close to unstoppable at this point. In fact, his only loss came back in the year 2013 against Jose Caceres. His most recent fight was a flamboyant first round knockout. Most of his wins are not scrape throughs, in fact, he is known for his dominating style and brute force.

On paper, Usman has only one victory via submission and this may lead you to believe that being on the floor is not really his forte, however, the numbers are a bit misleading and Usman is actually a good grappler, it is just that he usually does not get into that situation and is able to finish his opponents of in other ways.

Emil Meek’s record is not shabby either. He has 9 wins to his name, 2 ties, and 1 loss. Like Usman, Meek is good at knocking opponents out. Over a third of his victories have been courtesy of knockouts and his last four fights have all been solid victories.

For our prediction, it is hard not to root for the favorite here. Usman is just too strong of a force for Meek to reckon with.

UFC Fight Night 124 – Uriah Hall Vs. Vitor Belfort Predictions

UFC Fight Night 124 is scheduled to take place at the Scottrade Center this Sunday and it will feature Uriah Hall as he comes up against Vitor Belfort. Hall currently has a record of 14 – 8, and over three fourths of his victories have come via knockouts. His most recent fight was a victory […]

UFC Fight Night 124 is scheduled to take place at the Scottrade Center this Sunday and it will feature Uriah Hall as he comes up against Vitor Belfort. Hall currently has a record of 14 – 8, and over three fourths of his victories have come via knockouts. His most recent fight was a victory against Krzysztof Jotko in September. He was looking down and out after three straight defeats, but then he came back strong and snatched a knockout victory in a fight that was then credited as the fight of the night.

He has not tasted consecutive victories since 2015, and will be hungry for a win against Belfort. This will be Hall’s debut fight in Missouri. He is not only a great striker, but can be a deadly force on the ground too, given that he has a ground and pound attack which is no laughing matter.

Belfort, on the other hand, is no slouch himself, he has a record of 26 – 13 coming into this fight, and certainly has more fights under his belt that his opponent. Like Hall, Belfort also wins most of his fights via knockouts. His most recent fight was a victory against Nate Marquardt. Like Hall, Belfort has not had the glory of back to back victories in a very long time and will be looking to make this fight count in his favor.

In terms of a prediction, we will side with the Belfort to win this fight.

UFC Fight Night 124 – Jeremy Stephens Vs. Doo Ho Choi Predictions

Jeremy Stephens will take on Doo Ho Choi in the main event of UFC Fight Night 214 which is now just around the corner. Come January 14th, this highly anticipated fight will unfold at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri.

Stephens has moved down one weight division by going from lightweight to featherweight in the year 2013. Stephens is 8th at the moment in the rankings for the 145 lbs division and he also has some victories to his name against some worthy opponents such as former UFC Bantamweight Renan Barao, Dennis Bermudaz and Darren Elkins. His last fight was one where he impressed with a solid victory against Gilbert Melendez during UFC fight night 215. The fight was even classified as the fight of the night.

Moving on to his opponent Doo Ho Choi, Choi last fought in December of 2016 (UFC 205). This fight did not go as planned for Choi as he was defeated by Swanson in what was his first ever MMA loss. However, up until this point, Choi was on fire to say the least and was knocking opponents out left, right and center. Choi is currently placed in 12th position in the rankings and will most certainly be looking to improve on that number when he comes up against Stephens.

In terms of predictions, Stephens has been hit or miss lately, but has always looked confident, and Choi is coming back from a substantial hiatus and maybe a bit rusty out of the box. We will have to go with Stephens to win via unanimous decision.

UFC 219 Predictions – Carlos Condit Vs. Neil Magny

Carlos Condit is a real joy to watch for the fans. In terms of pure entertainment value, they don’t come much better than Condit. He is quick, exciting, takes risks and can really make fights very interesting for the fans. His career has been decorated with fight after fight that have acquired the status of […]

Carlos Condit is a real joy to watch for the fans. In terms of pure entertainment value, they don’t come much better than Condit. He is quick, exciting, takes risks and can really make fights very interesting for the fans. His career has been decorated with fight after fight that have acquired the status of “must watch”and irrespective of whether he is fighting an established champion or a new comer, you can expect Condit to deliver in terms of providing for a fight which is worth watching.

However, Condit’s impulsiveness maybe a bit subdued this time around considering that he is coming back from almost a year long hiatus. Condit is actually making a comeback from retirement with this fight. His recent record prior to the retirement decision was not that great either, he accumulated five losses in seven fights and the losses were more than just losses, he did pay the price in terms of physical injury. Age is not exactly on his side either, at 33 years old, his career has seen ups and downs.

UFC fight night 219 will be his 41st professional MMA bout and that is excluding fights in professional boxing and kick boxing. How Condit will perform in this fight is really a toss up to say the least. Will he be himself or just a shadow of himself? His opponent, Magny, is someone that has a acquired a lot of skills over the course of his career and is a strategic fighter.

Considering that Condit will be a bit rusty, we are going to have to side with Magny for our prediction.
