Sage Northcutt put Zak Ottow to sleep

The co-main event featured a welterweight clash between Northcutt and Ottow. The two competed inside CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho.

It didn’t take long for Ottow to drop Northcutt. Northcutt landed an upkick. Ottow tried moving to side control. Ottow went for a guillotine, but settled for staying in top control. Northcutt went for an armbar. Ottow avoided danger. Northcutt was able to return to his feet. He swarmed Ottow with a combination. He tried locking in a guillotine. Northcutt mounted Ottow and landed some punches as the horn sounded.

Ottow got a takedown early in the second stanza. Northcutt got back to his feet and landed a knee to the body followed by a combination upstairs. Ottow went for the takedown, but settled for pushing his opponent against the fence. Northcutt landed a combination on the break. He dropped Ottow with a left hand. He rained down some hammersfists and Ottow was out.

Bermudez went for a takedown early, but Glenn was prepared for it. Bermudez landed a right hand over the top. Glenn landed a punch upstairs. Glenn stuffed a takedown. A body kick was there for “The Menace.” A left hand landed for Bermudez. Glenn returned fire with his own left hand. A knee to the body found the target for Bermudez. Bermudez lifted his opponent up, but the cage saved Glenn. Bermudez swung wild with the left hook The round ended with both men trading punches.

Glenn opned up the second stanza with a kick to the body. Bermudez connected with a leg kick. Bermudez shot in and finally scored the takedown. “The Menance” dropped some punches. Glenn got back to his feet. A straight left hand landed for Glenn. Bermudez scored another takedown. Once again, Bermudez couldn’t maintain control. Bermudez brought Glenn down to the mat and yet again the control was non-existent. knee to the body was there for “The Menace.” Glenn found himself on his back again. He landed an upkick. The round ended shortly after.

Bermudez landed a combination early in the final frame. He took the back of Glenn, but was far too high. The two engaged in the clinch. Bermudez had his takedown attempt stuffed. Glenn threw a punchout of range and Bermudez capitalized with a takedown. Blood trickled down Bermudez’s forehead. “The Menace” had the best control he’s had all fight. He scored a big elbow and briefly had his opponent’s back. The fight returned standing, but not for long. The two engaged in a scramble. The final horn sounded with Bermudez escaping a kimura attempt.

Two of the three judges scored the fight for Glenn. One of the judges surprisingly gave Glenn a 30-27 score.

Final Result: Rick Glenn def. Dennis Bermudez via split decision (28-29, 30-27, 29-28)

Brown stayed patient early and looked to counter Price. The right hand was there for Brown. Price moved in and Brown landed a knee to the body. Price scored a takedown. Brown reversed and took the back of Price. Soon after, Price turned it around and had Brown against the fence. The two exchanged near the end of the round with Brown landing a knee upstairs.

Brown had price on his back early in round two. He landed a solid right hand. Somehow, Price knocked out Brown with hammerfists from the bottom. Incredible finish.

Cat Zingano turned in a dominant performance over Marion Reneau.

The opening bout on the main card of UFC Boise featured action in the women’s bantamweight division. Zingano and Reneau shared the Octagon inside CenturyLink Arena in Boise, Idaho. “Alpha” was looking to nab her first victory since Sept. 2014.

Zingano went high with a kick early, but it found air. She went for a leg kick, but Reneau had a counter right hand. Zingano lifted her opponent and scored a takedown. The two returned standing quickly. Zingano connected with a leg kick. They engaged in the clinch with Zingano’s back against the fence. Reneau landed two elbows and short punches. Reneau jumped guard and was taken down for her efforts. Zingano preferred to keep it standing. Zingano threw out leg kicks. left hand had Reneau off balanced. Reneau moved in with strikes for the clinch. Reneau landed an elbow, while Zingano connected with a knee to the body. Zingano locked the body and scored a huge takedown near the end of the round.

A left hand landed for Reneau early in the second stanza. Zingano scored a takedown. An elbow was there for “Alpha.” Zingano decided to keep it standing. A hard leg kick had Reneau buckled. She transitioned to the clinch. Another takedown was there for Zingano. Zingano connected with an elbow. She ained down some ground-and-pound before Reneau pushed her off. “Alpha” locked the body, but this time the takedown wasn’t there. Reneau landed a left hand. Zingano fired back with a leg kick. Reneau popped her opponent with a left jab. Zingano lifted her opponent up and dumped her to the canvas. A cut formed above the right eye of Reneau. The second round ended with Zingano in top control.

A stiff jab from Zingano opened up the final frame. Zingano slammed her opponent to the mat and moved to the north-south position. She settled for full guard. She dropped an elbow. Zingano continued to maintain control while dropping some elbows. This was a solid performance from Zingano, who was awarded a unanimous decision.

Final Result: Cat Zingano def. Marion Reneau via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26)
