Rising heavyweight prospect Francis Ngannou (9-1) had his fourth fight under the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) banner at UFC Fight Night 102 inside the Times Union Center in Albany, New York. His opponent was Anthony Hamilton (15-6).

Ngannou once again finished the fight and has yet to go the distance in victory.

Hamilton went for a kick under a minute into the fight. Ngannou was taken down off a kick, but he rolled off and Hamilton pushed him against the fence. Ngannou held onto the arm of Hamilton and used his strength to take him down and finish the kimura for his fourth career submission win.

Final Result: Francis Ngannou def. Anthony Hamilton via Submission (Kimura) – R1, 1:57

Anderson attack the body and looked for a right hand upstairs. He ducked under and took O’Connell down. O’Connell got back up with his back to the fence, but he was slammed back down. “Overtime” stood in control and landed some punches from half guard.

About 15 seconds into the second stanza, “The Real OC” was on his back. Anderson looked for a choke, but settled for full mount. He hammered away at O’Connell until the fight was stopped.

After the fight, Anderson told Jon Anik that he wants to fight Nikita Krylov if he can get past Misha Cirkunov.

Final Result: Corey Anderson def. Sean O’Connell via TKO (Strikes) – R2, 2:36

Villante gave the New York crowd something to cheer for.

Villante got into a rhythm early. He dropped Safarov with a jab. The jab kept finding a home for Villante. Safarov threw a high kick and held onto his knee. Villlante pushed forward, but was clipped with a hook. Villante was dropped with an overhand right, but got up quickly. Safarov pushed his opponent against the fence. He countered a jab with a right hand as the horn sounded. Safarov limped to his corner.

Villante went for the knee of Safarov at the start of the second stanza. A hard leg kick landed for Villante. A right hand pierced through the guard of Safarov. A combination followed by a leg kick was there for Villante. He landed a knee in the clinch. Safarov went for a takedown, but couldn’t complete it. Villante was starting to pull away and swarmed his opponent. He landed a series of elbows in the clinch and the fight was stopped.

Final Result: Gian Villante def. Saparbek Safarov via TKO (Elbows) – R2, 2:54
