Surprisingly enough, Cris “Cyborg” Justino did not add to her impressive list of first round victories Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 95.
But she didn’t suffer defeat either.
Justino bruised Lina Lansberg in the first before finishing her in the second round with vicious ground-and-pound, improving to 2-0 inside the Octagon. The reigning Invicta FC featherweight champion bested Leslie Smith earlier this year.
The co-main event featured Renan Barao earning a decision over Phillipe Nover, while Roy Nelson knocked out Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva in a featured main card bout.
However, Nelson’s win will be remembered more for his post-fight antics, as “Big Country” appeared to kick referee John McCarthy because he felt the stoppage was late.
Here are complete results:

Former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao continued his quest to reinvent his once-surging career at featherweight when he met fellow formerly touted prospect Phillipe Nover in the co-main event of last night’s (Sat., September 24, 2016) UFC Fight Night 95 from Ginásio Nilson Nelson in Brasília, Brazil. It may not have been the dominant stoppage we’re used
Former UFC bantamweight champion Renan Barao continued his quest to reinvent his once-surging career at featherweight when he met fellow formerly touted prospect Phillipe Nover in the co-main event of last night’s (Sat., September 24, 2016) UFC Fight Night 95 from Ginásio Nilson Nelson in Brasília, Brazil.
It may not have been the dominant stoppage we’re used to from him, but with the weight of his hometown fans both supporting him and making his bout with Nover a must-win, ‘The Baron’ delivered for his many Brazilian fans. Controlling the pace with a strong mix of takedowns and striking, Barao picked up an important decision win over Nover.

After a draining weight cut that was the center of discussion this week, Invicta FC featherweight champion Cristiane ‘Cyborg’ Justino finally met Lina Lansberg at 140 pounds in the main event of tonight’s (Sat., September 24, 2016) UFC Fight Night 95 from Ginásio Nilson Nelson in Brasília, Brazil.
Cyborg came in a massive favorite as she does in all of her fights, and the results were no different in her second UFC bout. The Brazilian WMMA legend came out guns blazing, pushing Lansberg into the fence and dominating the action throughout the entire first round.
In the second frame, Justino truly took over, dominating the action from the mount and badly bloodying Lansberg’s nose with a nonstop torrent of power shots. Kudos to Lansberg for her incredible toughness, but this fight only further proved that Cyborg has little – if any at all – competition in women’s MMA.

Just four months after her Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut, Cris Cyborg (17-1) was back inside the Octagon at UFC Fight Night 95. She put her 11-year undefeated streak at stake when she fought Lina Lansberg (6-2).
Believe it or not, this one made it past the first round.
Cyborg moved forward and Lansberg held on in the clinch. Cyborg proved to be stronger in that position and she landed some knees to the body. The two remained in the clinch for over a minute. They separated briefly and Cyborg threw a combination before the position resumed. Referee Mario Yamasaki broke the two up and Lansberg once again held onto Cyborg and was outmuscled in the clinch. Cyborg slammed her opponent to the canvas and rained down punches. Cyborg went on an assault with punches and a knee to the body. “Elbow Princess” survived the round.
Lansberg was all smiles before the bout began, but looked concerned going into the second round. Cyborg moved forward and threw a barrage of punches and landed kicks to the body. They returned to the clinch and Cyborg was the one who was smiling. She took Lansberg down and was immediately in side control. Lansberg was bloodied from the nose down and the vicious hammerfists of Cyborg mercifully ended the fight.
Final Result: Cris Cyborg def. Lina Lansberg via TKO (strikes) – R2, 2:29
