In the co-main event of tonight’s (Sat. April 27, 2019) UFC Fort Lauderdale event from the BB&T Center in Sunrise, Florida, former NFL star Greg Hardy met Dmitrii Smoliakov inside the Octagon.

Hardy pressured Smoliakov right out of the gate, and the Russian clearly wanted to get the takedown as soon as possible. Unfortunately for him, he was unable to do so, and Hardy imposed his power early after landing some big punches. Eventually, Hardy dropped Smoliakov to the canvas, before finishing him off on the ground with some hard ground-and-pound.

The first-round stoppage was the first win of Hardy’s UFC career. Check out how the mixed martial arts (MMA) community reacted to the co-main event finish:

UFC Fort Lauderdale preliminary card results are underway as the Las Vegas-based promotion holds this latest event on television for fight fans around the world to watch the show.

It’s once again fight day here at LowKickMMA, and the talent on display tonight (Saturday, April 27, 2019) will come from in the form of UFC Fort Lauderdale. Headlining the card are Ronaldo Souza and Jack Hermansson, but there’s a whole bunch of great fights also taking place on the preliminary section of the card.

Takashi Sato vs. Ben Saunders in a welterweight bout closes the preliminary card on ESPN in what should be an interesting fight.

Andrei Arlovski vs. Augusto Sakai is next in a heavyweight bout.

Carla Esparza vs. Virna Jandiroba is next in a women’s strawweight bout.

Mike Davis vs. Gilbert Burns in a lightweight bout opens the ESPN preliminary card.

Jason Gonzalez vs. Jim Miller in a lightweight bout finishes off the ESPN 2 preliminary card.

Jodie Esquibel vs. Angela Hill is next in a women’s strawweight bout.

Opening the ESPN 2 prelims is Dhiego Lima vs. Court McGee in a welterweight bout.

Tonight (Sat. April 27, 2019) UFC Fort Lauderdale takes place from the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

In the main event of the night, rising 185-pound prospect Jack Hermansson takes on the toughest fight of his life. He’ll share the Octagon with jiu-jitsu ace and longtime veteran Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza. Also, former NFL star Greg Hardy returns to the co-main event in his second-ever UFC fight, facing Dmitrii Smoliakov.
