Former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva wasted no time in busting Michael Bisping’s chops over his recent training blooper…

UFC middleweights Anderson Silva and Michael Bisping will headline the promotion’s trip to London, England next weekend (Saturday February 27, 2016) and there’s been a pretty fun rivalry between the two. As with all of Bisping’s previous fights for the UFC, he’s been very vocal ahead of his bout with the former champion, but he’s been gifted way more ammo than ever before. ‘The Spider’ failed a drug test for anabolic steroids after his UFC 183 scrap with Nick Diaz, and later claimed it was ‘tainted viagra’ from Thailand that caused the positive result.

For ‘The Count,’ this was just perfect grounds to start a rivalry, and he’s blasted Silva as a cheater who’s been doing it his whole career. A few trades of banter and a media scrum face-off have proved tame but also fun to watch, and now Silva has fired the next shot to Bisping’s camp.

After last week’s open workout blooper where ‘The Count’ blasted his own coach with a spinning kick to the face, his Brazilian foe sent out the following Instagram post:

????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Touché, Mr Silva, touché. So Michael Bisping will probably have a comeback to this taunt in no time, but it does raise a more serious question; does Michael Bisping have any chance in this bout? It’s questionable as to whether he has the wrestling chops to stifle Silva’s standing attacks, but surelyhe doesn’t plan to strike with him?

The British banger could end up in deep waters if he tries to trade with one of the greatest MMA knockout artists to ever live, but what other chance does he have? He can’t risk battling in the clinch with ‘The Spider,’ and it’s not like Bisping to lay and pray.

What do you think?

Ian McCall vs. Brad Pickett, Gunnar Nelson vs. Omari Akhmedov Added to UFC Fight Night 37 in London

After pulling out of this weekend’s UFC on FOX 9 card due to injury, Ian McCall has been reassigned to UFC Fight Night 37: Gustafsson vs. Manuwa, March 8th at the O2 Arena in London. “Uncle Creepy” will face off against Brad “One Punch” Pickett, who is dropping to flyweight for the first time following a 3-3 UFC stint at bantamweight. The UFC confirmed the booking yesterday.

Though Pickett was never able to put together a long winning streak in the Octagon, his fan-friendly style has earned him four Fight of the Night bonuses and one Knockout of the Night bonus since 2011, totaling $270,000 in extra cash. His last appearance resulted in a triangle-choke loss to Michael McDonald, in a bout that won the FOTN award for UFC Fight Night 26: Shogun vs. Sonnen. Of course, McCall is no slouch himself when it comes to bonuses, with two Fight of the Night bumps in his four UFC appearances. So yeah, should be fun.

Also on the card…

Also on the card…

11-0 grappling wizard Gunnar Nelson — who hasn’t competed since February due to an injury and a car accident — will finally return to action at UFC Fight Night 37 against dangerous Dagestani (aren’t they all?) Omari Akhmedov, who picked up his 11th consecutive first-round stoppage win last month by knocking out Thiago Perpetuo at UFC Fight Night 32: Belfort vs. Henderson. The fight marked Akhmedov’s Octagon debut, and earned him and Perpetuo the event’s Fight of the Night award.

Once thought to be a serious threat in the welterweight division, Nelson’s long injury layoff and Akhmedov’s tendency to destroy people could make this a tough one for the emotionless Icelander. Your predictions, please.
