Middleweight contender Darren Till is hoping $5000 will be enough to become a part of Mike Perry’s corner at UFC 255.

‘Platinum’ announced yesterday that he will be auctioning off a place in his corner team for his fight against former welterweight king Robbie Lawler on November 21.

“Whoever gives me the most money can be in my corner with @latory_g,” Perry wrote on social media.

Till who has a long-running beef with Perry caught wind of this opportunity and took to social media himself to submit a significant bid to ‘Platinum’. Till even insisted this was a genuine offer and called on his followers to notify Perry who had previously blocked him.

Perry hasn’t been seen in action since he beat Mikey Gall by unanimous decision, snapping a two-fight losing streak at UFC Vegas 4 back in June. For the fight, Perry took the unusual step of opting against having a traditional corner team and instead relying on his girlfriend to give him advice between rounds. He seems willing so go one step further by inviting a paying stranger to help him out against one of the best welterweight fighters of all-time next month.

Perry is very unlikely to accept Till’s offer no matter how much money is on the table. The pair who once enjoyed a friendly spar have turned enemies over the past year. Both men have exchanged shots at each other online but Till seemed to step over the line when he made some degrading comments about Perry’s girlfriend. Till has subsequently launched the Rawdog company off the back of his insults towards Perry and the woman carrying his child.

Till is currently preparing for a vital middleweight fight against fellow contender Jack Hermansson. The European duo will square off in December. It will be Till’s first fight since dropping a decision against former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker on ‘Fight Island’ earlier this summer.

If Darren Till is really offering $5000 do you think Mike Perry will accept?

Gilbert Burns

UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman will no longer defend his title against Gilbert Burns on December 12 as previously planned according to a report from ESPN. Veteran MMA journalist took to social media last night to break the news, he wrote.

“The Kamaru Usman vs. Gilbert Burns UFC welterweight title is off on Dec. 12, per sources. It doesn’t have a new date at the moment, but current talk is January of February. Usman needs a little more time. No new main event yet for UFC 256.”

Helwani later suggested the UFC put together a number one contender fight between Burns and long-time contender Leon Edwards. The Englishman is up for ending his long layoff by facing ‘Durinho’ later this year and sais as much online.

December 12th title fight has been postponed. #UFC256 needs a main event! @GilbertDurinho you little tree stump, you have nowhere to run now! Let’s see who the REAL number one contender is! @ufc @UFCEurope @danawhite.”

“I’ll step in vs @GilbertDurinho he was never the real number one contender. see you dec 12.”

Burns though immediately refused to fight Edwards and announced his intention to wait for the champion to heal up before taking his shot at UFC gold.

“I’m already the number contender, I’m waiting for a title shot,” Burns wrote on social media. “Why should I fight to be a number 1 contender again? You really think that or just hating on Ali (Abdelaziz) again?”

Burns is currently flying high after picking four straight wins since jumping up in weight. The 170lb contender has scored back-to-back high-profile performance of the night bonuses against BJJ wizard Demian Maia and former champion Tyron Woodley to cement his place as the number one contender at welterweight. He was meant to face off against Usman at UFC 251 earlier this year but a positive COVID-19 test meant Burns was forced out of the bout and replaced by Jorge Masvidal who was dominated by ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ over five rounds.

Do you think Gilbert Burns should sit out and wait for his title shot?

Coach Rubbishes Israel Adesanya Steroid Claims: ‘We Laughed It Off’

City Kickboxing head coach Eugene Bareman has rubbished the steroid accusations headed towards Israel Adesanya.

Adesanya successfully defended his middleweight title following an impressive second-round TKO win over Paulo Costa at UFC 253 last month. Among the many notable things that happened on the night, many observers noted how Adesanya’s right pectoral muscle was saggy during the fight.

That led to speculation of gynecomastia and later, accusations of steroid use from many on social media. Adesanya and his team are still currently unsure of what actually happened as they await test results. But when it comes to accusations of steroid use? They could only laugh it off.

“I mean, in typical Kiwi fashion we just kinda laughed it off,” Bareman told Submission Radio. “Just cause we’re like so confident and we know that nothing could be further from the truth. So, like, when something is so outlandish, it kind of becomes funny. Cause, it’s just so outlandish it kind of takes on this comedy-type feel.

“So, I found it kind of funny. But it’s outrageous. I think it’s just outrageous. To be pretty honest, we’ve just laughed it off.”

While there is always a chance of Adesanya taking a tainted supplement, even that has a low probability according to Bareman given how careful the team is in addition to the ethics and morals that they have.

“Just because of the ethics and morals that we have. Like, it’s just – I mean, not withstanding something maybe accidentally – and the chances of that are like slim to none as well because we’re so good at using the right approved supplements and stuff, like, it’s just never been a part of our ethics and morals at the gym,” Bareman said.

“In fact, like you said, we’ve been very outspoken against it. Like, it’s even funny that we’re even talking about it, because you said there’s an issue because obviously physically he has that anomaly on his chest, but for us, it kind of isn’t an issue. It’s just like, let’s just find out what that is and move on, and who’s the next fight.”

As for when the results will come, Bareman expects to receive them soon.

“I might get the results probably tomorrow, cause I think it’s Sunday over in America,” Bareman added. “The UFC has our bloods. The UFC has our… I think we did an MRI or ultrasound or one or the other, or both. We have those results to send to our physicians. The UFC has them as well.

“We just need to get to the bottom of what exactly it is, whether it’s low testosterone, whether it’s some other abnormality in the chest. We just have to get to the bottom of it, and we’re trying to, and we will have that in the next coming days, I think.”

Ngannou Miocic

Francis Ngannou is calling for an end-of-the-year showdown with UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.

Ngannou is on a four-fight winning streak with and has been guaranteed the next crack at the heavyweight title. The only question has been when it will actually take place.

“The Predator” believes that’s a question for the UFC but did reveal in a recent interview that he had requested for a spot at UFC 256 on December 12 which happens to be the last pay-per-view of the year.

“I requested for December 12, which is the last pay-per-view of the year,” Francis Ngannou told The Schmo. “Almost over two months from now. So I’m expecting to have that date.”

UFC 256 was expected to feature a welterweight title fight between Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns but that’s now off after recent developments.

A heavyweight title fight between Miocic and Ngannou would be a perfect replacement and a fitting and explosive way to end the UFC calendar in 2020.

As for how the rematch will go, Ngannou will be making sure it’s not a repeat of their 2018 meeting where Miocic used his wrestling to dominate him over five rounds.

“Work a lot on my game and we’ll get a better training camp so that will definitely not happen again,” Ngannou added of what he’s going to do different. “When I look at that fight, I see a lot of opportunities that I could have had if I was ready, well-prepared.”

Would you like to see Miocic vs. Ngannou at the end of the year?

Coach Says Israel Adesanya Could Compete At 205 In Next Fight, Jones Responds

AdesanyaThere is a possibility UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya fights at light heavyweight next. Whether it’s against Jon Jones remains to be seen, however. Adesanya

There is a possibility UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya fights at light heavyweight next. Whether it’s against Jon Jones remains to be seen, however.

Adesanya is coming off an impressive second-round TKO win over Paulo Costa at UFC 253 last month and is already targeting his next title defense against Jared Cannonier. In fact, Adesanya has also gone on record stating that he would like to compete again before the end of the year.

Cannonier has to defeat Robert Whittaker first who he faces at UFC 254 on October 24. But if the American passes that test and is unable to fight Adesanya that soon, would “The Last Stylebender” move up to light heavyweight and potentially face 205-pound king Jan Blachowicz?

City Kickboxing head coach Eugene Bareman believes it’s a possibility.

“Yeah, I mean, if Cannonier didn’t want to turn around and fight, then Israel would definitely fight at 205,” Bareman told Submission Radio. “We’ve already had a little chat about that. He would be perfectly willing to do that. So much is just dependent on those results in the middleweight division. But yeah, if Cannonier wanted to wait longer because he didn’t want to turn around things really quickly, then maybe Israel can go to 205.

“At the moment it’s just waiting out to see how those results go in that little middleweight tournament, and then deciding, and then for the most part, some of those fighters deciding what they want to do. For us, we’ve already decided that we wanna turn around another one in 2020. So, it’s kind of like the balls in their corner.”

Of course, the one fight everyone wants to see at light heavyweight for Adesanya is a grudge match against former champion Jon Jones who is now planning a move to heavyweight.

Adesanya has long claimed that he wanted to clean out his division before facing Jones in 2021. In more recent times, he has stated fighting Jones is something he would discuss with Bareman which resulted in ridicule from Jones.

Whatever happens in the future, Adesanya is very intent on fighting Jones according to Bareman.

“He has got his heart set on doing that fight. It doesn’t matter where Jon Jones goes,” Bareman added. “If he goes to heavyweight, goes to light heavyweight, goes up and loses two fights, three fights, wins the next three fights, Israel has his heart set on that fight. So yeah, that fight’s gonna happen, I’m just not sure when.

“If we needed to fight that fight in the next six months, then I would be happy to do that, but again, that’s a team decision. That’s how we work.”

Jones would come across those comments and respond.

“If we needed to fight that fight in the next six months, then I would be happy to do that, but again” ? Shut the f*ck up, Y’all ain’t doing sh*t”

“Fighter and coach is mentioning my name in interviews but refused to sign the dotted line. Straight hoe sh*t. Mention a mans dead mother over the Internet but looking to fight Jared cannoneer ?

What do you make of Bareman’s words?

Leon Edwards: I Don’t Need To Fight Someone Like Wonderboy Thompson

Edwards

Despite two-time welterweight title challenger, Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson’s recent, pleasant callout – streaking division contender, Leon ‘Rocky’ Edwards is far from sold on a long-rumoured pairing with the striking ace.

Edwards, who’s won his last eight straight, has so far, fruitlessly campaigned for a shot at welterweight gold – with fellow streaking challenger, Gilbert ‘Durinho’ Burns leapfrogging him with a clash opposite soon to be common-opposition, Kamaru ‘The Nigerian Nightmare’ Usman lined up for UFC 256 on December 12.

The Birmingham based contender was scheduled to headline a UFC Fight Night London event in March opposite former division best, Tyron Woodley – with a victory conceivably believed as more than enough to instate him into a re-run with Usman. With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic forcing the ultimate cancellation of that event, and Burns scoring a May win over Woodley, alas here we are.

Edwards, whose most recent win came at UFC Fight Night San Antonio in July of last year against former lightweight best, Rafael dos Anjos has yet to step in the Octagon since then, but isn’t interested in clashing with the above mentioned, Thompson who last appeared at UFC 244 in November in a unanimous decision shutout when paired with Vicente Luque.

As far as (Stephen Thompson) Wonderboy, he got knocked out like a fight ago,” Edwards said to MMA Fighting. “(Anthony) Pettis knocked him out one fight ago. If I go out there right now and I fight Wonderboy and I beat Wonderboy the UFC will be like, ‘let’s go one more in the top-five and then we’ll go for a title.’ They wouldn’t give me a title shot straight away.

For me to get to the world title, which is my aim and my dream, is to beat one of those top-four (contenders). I have to fight someone in the top-four to get my title shot. I’ve done all the Wonderboy fights. I’ve been there, done it. I’m on an eight-fight win streak now. I don’t need to go fight someone like Wonderboy. He does nothing for my career. He’s coming down, I’m going up. If he gets one or two more wins, then I’ll consider it.

While Edwards is adamant on an opponent in the top-four next, that prospect seems unlikely. The aforenoted, #2 ranked Burns is already scheduled to meet champion, Usman – while UFC president, Dana White has claimed it’s very possible the promotion link arch-rivals the #1 rated, Colby Covington, and the #4 seated, Jorge Masvidal next.
