Middleweight contender Darren Till has offered his thoughts about the ongoing Colby Covington vs. LeBron James debate.

It all started when Covington called out the Basketball superstar after beating Tyron Woodley at UFC Vegas 11 on Saturday.

“I wanna dedicate this fight, to all the first responders, all the military out there, you know this world would not be safe without you guys, you know, you keep us safe – not these woke athletes, I’m sick of these woke athletes. These spineless cowards like LeBron James,” Covington said.

James fired back the following day and seemed to suggest that world-class fighter Covington would be scared if confronted by him, he said.

“Anybody can talk from outside but if they got into the ring or got into the arena, probably 10 times out of 10, they’d sh*t their pants.”

Covington looked to end the debate when he took to social media to say James wouldn’t last 10 seconds in his world.

“LOL at the snowflakes that believe @KingJames could even last 10 seconds with me! If that coward had the balls or the ability to kick anyone’s ass, Delonte West would’ve lost his teeth long before his meth habit!”

‘The Gorilla’ has backed his fellow UFC fighter in this particular battle in typical Darren Till fashion.

“Please tell me I have not just seen a video of lebron saying Colby would shit his pants in the ring with him? Colby may be an arsehole, in fact a funny arsehole cos so many peoples love getting offended. But Colby Covington would tear lebron James a new arsehole then rawdog him,” Till wrote on social media.

Till is currently heeling up after suffering a knee injury in his decision defeat against Robert Whittaker in July. The Englishman is booked to headline alongside fellow middleweight contender Jack Hermansson on December 5.

Do you agree with Darren Till on the matter of Colby Covington vs. LeBron James?

Khamzat Chimaev has revealed that the date for his next fight is set. The undefeated UFC prospect stopped short of letting fans know when he’ll next be competing but did tell them the bout will be a five-round, main event later this year.

Chimaev needed just 17 seconds and one punch to knockout Gerald Meerschaert at UFC Vegas 11 main card this past weekend.

The Swedish fighter was originally thought to be quickly turning around to face Brazilian submission specialist Demian Maia on the upcoming run of ‘Fight Island’ events. UFC president Dana White hinted post-fight in Las Vegas that Chimaev’s latest stunning performance may have altered those plans.

“This guy is special, man. It’s true. … I don’t know what I do with him yet. He might fight before Maia and fight Maia, too. Maia’s not going to be ready in time for this kid.”

According to Chiamev social media activity he will be rushed into a headline spot against an opponent yet to be confirmed.

“I have a date , now they looking for other side. Five round main event Thank you @danawhite for keeping your word . Anybody . Anytime . Anywhere #KhamzatSmash,” Chimaev wrote.

The UFC boss has since confirmed Chimaev is set to headline and upcoming event in Las Vegas and would no longer be competing on ‘Fight Island’ as originally planned.

“No,” White told reporters at the UFC 253 press conference at Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. ”He’ll fight in Vegas”.

Chimaev currently boasts a perfect 9-0 record. He first fought in the UFC back in July in Abu Dhabi. The 26-year-old made easy work of Welsh middleweight John Phillips before quickly turning around and beating UFC newcomer Rhys McKee just 10 days later. His latest win over Meerschaert is his most impressive to date and has clearly quickened his rise to the top.

Do you think Khamzat Chimaev is ready to headline a card?

Israel Adesanya, Leon Edwards & More Condemn Colby Covington’s Racist Comments

Colby Covington is in the firing line right now after comments he made post-fight at UFC Vegas 11. The welterweight contender was fresh off stopping Tyron Woodley this past weekend when he got into a heated debate with welterweight champion Kamaru Usman on live TV.

The pair exchanged barbs but one particular comment from Covington has caused widespread outrage. ‘Chaos’ was bragging about receiving a post-fight call from President Donald Trump and simultaneously took what appeared to be a racist shot at Usman who is originally from Nigeria, he said.

“Who did you get a call from? Did you get a call from, freaking, your little tribe? Did they give you some smoke signals for you? “You’re a joke, Marty Fakenewsman!”

ESPN quickly pulled the clip from their social media platforms but that didn’t stop it from spreading like wildfire. Since UFC Vegas 11 several high profile, black fighters have spoken to MMA Fighting to condemn Covington and his overtly racist comments.

Israel Adesanya: “It just shows you the landscape of the media, what it is right now,” Adesanya said. “I made a joke about dropping [Yoel] Romero like the Twin Towers and everyone lost their mind, even if I said it was a joke and it was pretty funny, but people took it as I was being offensive and digging – but I was making a joke.

“This guy has directly insulted my culture, my brother and many other cultures and stuff and no one says anything. But it just shows you a mirror. Shows you a mirror to you guys. So yeah, I don’t really care. Kamaru Usman broke his jaw.”

Leon Edwards: “That’s what got me – the UFC has said nothing about it,” Edwards said. “ESPN has said nothing about it. Letting it flow like it’s a normal thing to f**king say and do and it’s not. Your tribe and smoke signals and blah, blah, blah, and he’s calling Woodley a terrorist because of Black Lives Matter. All these statements he’s making is racist. There’s no other way to go around it.”

Hakeem Dawodu: “I found them extremely rude, racist,” Dawodu said. “I’m kind of surprised he’s allowed to talk free like that. You know everyone’s allowed to talk freely, but I took offense to it. It’s crazy that it’s comments like that causing more and more of a divide amongst the people. So that’s how he gets down, but I’m not really with that, and I took offense to that for sure.

“That’s racist. They were almost worried about my walkout song, and he’s going to be saying stuff like that and that’s crazy, especially on such a big stage. I feel like that’s only going to promote more and more divide and cause more and more issues. He’s got the president calling him, backing him up on that. I don’t really appreciate it, and that’s how it is I guess.”

Sijara Eubanks: “Let’s be real first and foremost, it wasn’t unfortunate, it was flat out racist what Colby was saying,” Eubanks said. “It was racist, it was disgusting and quite frankly disappointing. But at the same time, the one thing I do appreciate is the UFC lets whoever say whatever. They have never muzzled us as fighters. If you want to talk, don’t want to talk. If you want to be political, you don’t want to be political. I have to appreciate that the company lets us say what we want.

Do you agree with Israel Adesanya and these other fighters? Is Colby Covington being let off the hook despite making racist comments?

Dan Hooker wants to be the one to give Michael Chandler his welcome in the UFC.

Chandler was recently signed by the UFC and will serve as the backup for the UFC 254 main event that features a lightweight title unification fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje.

It’s certainly a big statement from the UFC on how they feel about the former Bellator lightweight champion and now that Hooker knows how the promotion views him, he is more than willing to fight Chandler first.

“Well, it was hard when people were speculating it and saying about the fight, it’s hard to know how much stock the UFC is putting into someone that’s coming from another organization,” Hooker told Submission Radio of his thoughts on Chandler. “But for him to now be signed to the organization and being the fill-in for the title shot, now I know.

“Now I’m certain of how much stock [they’re putting in]. The UFC is putting a lot of stock in on this kid. So, I would love to be the guy to welcomes him to the UFC, knees his chin off, sends him back to the B-Leagues.”

Hooker: We’re On A Different Level

That’s not to say Hooker doesn’t rate Chandler as a fighter.

However, he believes Chandler is not on the same level as the truly elite fighters in the UFC lightweight division.

“He’s good, he’s game, he’s a quality fighter,” Hooker added. “That’s not any knock on his skill or any knock on his ability, but I feel like we’re just a different calibre. He’s just gonna be welcomed to a different calibre of fighter.”

Khamzat Chimaev Fires Back At Israel Adesanya For ‘Rat Lip’ Remark

Khamzat Chimaev hit back at Israel Adesanya for his recent dig at him.

Chimaev recently expressed his intentions of becoming a two-weight champion following his emphatic first-round knockout win over Gerald Meerschaert this past weekend.

“Of course! Why not? I did hard work for that. I’m ready. Both divisions. If I do my hard work, nobody’s a challenge for me, I’m going to stop both guys [Kamaru Usman and Adesanya].”

When Adesanya learned of those comments, he didn’t seem to be too bothered, though he did choose to take a dig at the Dagestan native by calling him “rat lip” — a name Conor McGregor has also used for Chimaev.

“I don’t even know the guy, I haven’t seen his fights yet,” Adesanya said. “I saw the presser and he was just talking sh*t. He was just casting his net.

“Have you seen him fight? Rat lip? Meh … Tim said he fought low level competition. So he thinks I’m an easy fight … that’s interesting. I mean, everyone does this when they’re coming up, casting the net wide. Yeah, keep casting.”

Chimaev came across that comment and decided to take to Twitter to respond to the UFC middleweight champion.

“@stylebender what do you said about me it will cost you your belt if you’re still the champion Good luck,” Chimaev tweeted on Wednesday.

Adesanya defends his middleweight title against Paulo Costa at UFC 253 this weekend. Should he remain the champion and Chimaev continues winning and climbing up the ranks, we could be in store for this matchup in the future.

UFC president Dana White has teased a boxing announcement in the near future.

White has long spoken of his desire to kickstart Zuffa Boxing over the years but it appeared he eventually gave up on those plans for the time being.

Not anymore as in a recent interview with BT Sport, the UFC head honcho revealed he would be making an announcement in the next few weeks.

“The world of boxing hasn’t been able to do what I’ve been able to do [in MMA] over the last 20 years,” White said (via talkSPORT). “If they can’t do things when the world is normal, you can’t expect them to do things when the world is crazy.

“… Yep, I peaked under the hood a lot there for the last year. Looked at different things and I said, ‘I don’t know man, I don’t know if this is fixable.’ Funny enough, since the pandemic I’ve been looking at other options too. And we’ll probably have something to announce here soon. Yeah [it is in the world of boxing]. When it’s time, I’ll let you know, I’m not ready yet. But [it’ll be] in the next couple of weeks.”

It remains to be seen if White plans on signing professional boxers, having UFC fighters compete in boxing or having cross-code fights such as a potential Conor McGregor vs. Manny Pacquiao matchup.

We’ll just have to wait for the announcement to learn more.

What do you think White plans on doing in the boxing world?
