Jorge Masvidal continues to campaign for President Donald Trump as the elections edge near.

The UFC’s BMF champion has made no secret of where his allegiances lie — especially with his family having fled from Cuba’s socialist regime — and it was recently revealed last month that he would campaign for him on a “fighters against socialism” bus tour.

That took place Sunday as Masvidal notably spoke in support of Trump at the American Top Team MMA Gym in Coconut Creek, Florida.

“Since I was about knee high I’ve been hearing about the horrors of communism and socialism,” Masvidal said. “We either re-elect president Trump and keep America great again, or we let Joe Biden and the radical left take us down the slippery slopes of socialism and misery.”

Masvidal would touch on specific topics as well.

“I do know Latinos,” Masvidal said. “Latinos are not lazy. Latinos are not looking for a handout, we don’t want free stuff — we want freedom and opportunity. We want know that our hard work and sacrifice is going to pay off so we can get our piece of the American dream.

“We owe it to our parents and grandparents who risked their lives to get over to this great American country.”

Poirier McGregor

Dustin Poirier believes there is an ulterior motive in Conor McGregor wanting to fight him next.

McGregor recently claimed to have accepted the UFC’s offer for a fight with Poirier, but laid out the condition that it take place before the end of the year as opposed to early next year.

As of now, there is no update on the fight as all we can do is wait. But as for why McGregor wants this particular fight, Poirier believes it’s to help him prepare for a potential boxing match with Manny Pacquiao.

“Going back to why I think he wants this fight, it’s because he’s angling to fight Pacquiao. That was in the news,” Poirier said on “THE FIGHT” with Teddy Atlas (via MMA Junkie). “So I don’t know if the UFC wants him to fight one more time before they allow him to fight Pacquiao or if he just wants to get one more this year before starting next year with the Pacquiao fight, but what better way to do it against another southpaw?

“I think that might be his mind set. He wants to fight another southpaw before he fights another southpaw. I don’t know what’s going on, but I think that’s what the alignment is.”

McGregor had previously hinted he was fighting Pacquiao in a lucrative boxing match, though that was before talk of a Poirier fight came up. However, it’s also possible that he wants to fight Poirier simply because of what UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov recently stated.

“Khabib, the current champion, said that if Conor or Tony fights me and wins then he’ll give him another title shot, so that’s in his head too,” Poirier said. “I think that’s creating a perfect storm, and it’s coming together that he’s coming out in public and saying, ‘Hey, I want to fight Dustin Poirier this year.’”

Whether it happens or not remains to be seen. But one thing is for sure — Poirier will not go into a potential rematch with strong emotions like he did for their first meeting with McGregor which saw him lose via first-round knockout.

“I’m not going to go in there and fight with anger,” Poirier added. “I’m going in there and fighting with skills. My last few fights I just felt something different happening in the lead-up to the fight. It was less pressure. In a weird way I care less.

“I cared too much before. I cared too much, and that blinded me, and I got in the way of myself. I care, but not like I used to. It’s hard for the average person to understand, but it’s important for me to keep that mindset. I’m going to be all right. Whatever happens I’m going to be all right.”

Do you agree with Poirier?

Israel Adesanya: Backlash About UFC 253 Celebration Is Homophobic

Israel Adesanya

Israel Adesanya retained his middleweight title last month in emphatic fashion, stopping the previously unbeaten Paulo Costa inside two rounds at UFC 253.

‘Stylebender’ dropped Costa and followed up with some ground strikes before the referee waved off the bout. Instead of disengaging, Adesanya decided to celebrate by humping his downed opponent. Costa and many fans have condemned Adesanya’s post-fight actions but the UFC middleweight champion refuses to accept any wrongdoing.

In an interview with MMA Fighting, Adesanya expressed his belief that anger surrounding his UFC 253 celebrations is largely down to homophobia, he said.

“I couldn’t give a f**k what they think to be honest. I didn’t even think about it. I didn’t even plan it. It was just justified. Like you know when you’re on ‘Call of Duty’ and you smoke someone with a head shot and then you go over them and then press circle, down, up, down, up, kind of tea bag them. That’s kind of what I did.

“What it is, is homophobia. People are just mad ‘why are you doing that, you’re not a man’ cause they feel inadequate. Questioning their own sexuality

Adesanya thinks his post-fight actions were justified due to the fact Costa had been really disrespectful to him in the build-up to UFC 253, he said.

“Dude said so much sh*t to me leading up to the fight, insulted me in so many different ways. That was pretty much a second after the fight was over and you expect me to be gracious? Are you f**king kidding me? I was gracious when I walked up to him and said ‘are you going to shake my hand?’ and he shook my hand and I said good fight, thank you. Thank you for the game. I was gracious when I secretly DM’d him and checked ‘how’s your leg?’ I just wanted to check on him.

“I told him on the DM, you were disrespectful, so I have to be disrespectful back. If you were respectful, then I’d be respectful but I have to make an example out of you. I let him know in the DM then he put out the video saying ‘oh I want to kill you, I want to kill you.’ Then I f**king released the DM’s saying look this is what happened when I DM’d him.”

Adesanya was keen to advised future opponents that acts of disrespect will not be tolerated.

“I’m not an assh*le,” Adesanya said. “But if you’re an assh*le to me, oh boy, I can give it right back.”

Do you agree with Israel Adesanya? Is backlash about his UFC 253 post-fight celebration homophobic?

Mike Perry Says He’ll ‘Ruin’ Darren Till’s Life When They Fight

Perry Till

Over the past year Mike Perry and Darren Till have been involved in a war of words online and Perry doesn’t seem to be too impressed with Till’s comments towards him. Perry took to Twitter to call Till out and tells him that he’ll be “spitting out teeth.”

Perry said “You said it years ago Darren Till and you were right. You and me were meant to fight. I’m going up to middleweight and I’ll be small and fast and you’ll be big and slow. I’m gonna ruin your life. You’ll be spitting out teeth much sooner than expected…”

The former Welterweight title challenger seemed to be destined to fight Perry back in 2017 when Till called out Perry after his TKO win over Donald Cerrone, however that fight never materialised with Till fighting Stephen Thompson then Tyron Woodley for the Welterweight strap and eventually move up to Middleweight, while Perry has had a tough outing going 3-5 since that call out. Till also said recently that he’s willing to pay 5000 dollars to be in Perry’s corner for his next bout, however it seems that Perry has no interest in that.

Perry is looking for a second victory in a row when he fights Robbie Lawler at UFC 255 in Las Vegas, while “The Gorilla” is looking to bounce back from his unanimous decsison loss over former Middleweight champion Robert Whittaker when he fights Jack Hermansson on Decemeber 5th with the fight reported to be also in the UFC Apex in Vegas.

Do you think Darren Till and Mike Perry ever fight?

Jan Blachowicz has called out Jon Jones

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Jan Blachowicz has called out former champion, Jon Jones by claiming that the American has moved to Heavyweight to avoid his ‘Legendary Polish Power.’ (H/T MMA Fighting.)

Speaking to Submission Radio, Blachowicz said Jon Jones would be his best opponent but he admits a fight against Jones is unrealistic.

“For me, the best (opponent) would be Jon Jones,” Blachowicz said. “But I think this is not real. It’s not gonna happen so I think that my next opponent is gonna be the winner between (Glover) Teixeira and Thiago (Santos). But also, Adesanya also is really good. So we will see. We’ll have to wait a little bit but for me, personally, the best would be Jon Jones. He promised me this fight after I knocked out Corey (Anderson) and I’m waiting for him. I believe in the future that I’ll catch him somewhere, some day, anywhere.”

Jan Blachowicz went on to say that his recent performance against Dominick Reyes may have made Jones scared of a future fight between the two.

“You see what I did with Dominick, he just escaped because he doesn’t want to lose against me. I understand that. He’s afraid and (so) he went to heavyweight. . . He just wants to escape from the Legendary Polish Power, that’s why he went to heavyweight. He’s afraid of the Legendary Polish Power.”

Blachowicz recently became the UFC’s Light Heavyweight champion after he knocked out Dominick Reyes at UFC 253. The Pole claimed the belt after Jones vacated it whilst making his ambition to move up to heavyweight clear.

Jones however did tease him coming back to the Light Heavyweight division, tweeting after Blachowicz’s win at UFC 253, the former champion said: “Would you guys be annoyed if I went back and grabbed my belt real quick?”

Jones has also been talking up a potential super fight with Middleweight Champion, Israel Adesanya. The pair have been going back and forth on Twitter for a while.

Do you think Jan Blachowicz will beat Jon Jones if the pair ever meet?
