IT’S TIME! Lightweight contenders Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker are about to get going in our main event of the evening. The former interim champion is fighting for the first time since his failed shot at 155lb king Khabib Nurmagomedov. He’ll face Hooker who is riding a three-fight winning streak and hoping to get the biggest win of his career.

Round 1: Both men open up with kicks. Dan Hooker lands the first significant shot of the fight – a flush left hook. Dustin Poirier looks a little undersized and will have to overcome that to get inside on Hooker. The New Zealander has landed three calf kicks now and they are starting to get a reaction. Poirer dips under a shot and initiates the wrestling. He backs his opponent to the fence but is unable to capitalize on it. Back to the center and Poirier lands two body kicks. ‘The Diamond’ is starting to put his strikes together and is doing well to stay out of danger. Big kick to the body followed by a big punch. Poirier lands another huge right over the top as the round comes to an end.

Round 2: Hooker opens up early going to the body and head. Poirier lands a couple of big shots and Hooker fires back with his own one-two – clearly the biggest strikes of the fight. Poirier is shooting for the takedown. Eventually they separate and Poirier is able to land several bombs on his opponent. Both guys are landing huge power shots now this is turning into a war. Hooker lands a low kick but eats a one-two for his effort. Poirier is landing a lot but when he misses its big. Huge right by Poirier. Huge left from Hooker. Both men are a bloody mess now. Poirier lands a one-two, Hooker returns with a five punch combo. He’s backing his opponent up. Poirier is trying to fire back off the fence but he’s eating shots as the round end. WHAT A ROUND!

Round 3: A slightly slower start to round three. Both men are throwing the odd shot during the opening 60 seconds. Poirier lands a big right and the fight comes back to life. Hooker is firing back but he’s eating a lot of punches at the minute. Hooker shoots in for a takedown but is caught in a guillotine choke. Poirier has it locked up but his opponent slips out of it. Poirier is staying busy on the bottom. He’s trying subs and landing elbows. Poirier wall walks and gets back to his feet eating a knee on his way up. As they break Poirier lands two big shots – Hooker is so tough! The pair exchange pop shots as the third round comes to a close.

Round 4: The opening minute sees both men throw smaller shots. Poirier throws and kick and Hooker grabs it and secures the takedown. He pops back up but Hooker jumps on his back and manages to get the fight back to the floor. Poirier gets up again and secures his own takedown. He quickly secures a mount postition. Hooker is turning his back and Poirier is landing lots of ground and pound. Poirier jumps to the back and tries to secure an arm bar. It looks super tight but Hooker survives and eventually ends up on top. Poirier pops back up but Hooker immediately shoots in for another takedown. Poirier grabs for another choke but Hooker shakes it off before the rounds ends.

Round 5: Poirier opens up with a one-two before missing with a wild overhand. Hooker falls shorts with a couple of shots and is punished by a big shot. Both men continue to trade shot until Poirier nails Hooker with a one-two which forces a takedown attempt – he gets it! Poirier is using the wall to try and get up but he gives up his back in the process. They break and Poirier goes back to his striking. Hooker attempts another takedown but is unable to get it. He pushes Poirier up against the cage but doesn’t seem to have the energy to complete his attempt. Poirier lands a couple more shots and Hooker desperate shoots in. He ends up on bottom eating shots as the horn sounds to end the fight.

Perry battered Mickey Gall over three rounds in the co-main event of UFC Vegas 4. It was a particularly intriguing bout as Perry’s girlfriend was his sole corner for the fight.

She didn’t need to give much advice as Perry was too much for Gall as he dropped him in the second round and dominated him in pretty much every aspect of the fight.

Perry is looking to get back to winning ways after falling short in consecutive fights against Vicente Luque and Geoff Neal. Gall beat Salim Touahri in his last fight and is hoping to make it two in a row in the biggest fight of his career.

Round 1: Mike Perry comes out firing big shots but they miss. Mickey Gall is backing up and using lots movement to stay away from his powerful opponent. Perry is just walking down Gall who is sitting down on his own punches to try earn some respect. The majority of strikes from both men are falling short right now but they have some serious power on them. A brief grappling exchange before they get back to striking. Gall is starting to get off with his shots. Right now, he’s got the sharper hands. Perry lands a couple of big shots to keep him honest. Gall is landing his shots and trying to get out the way. Gall throws a kick but its caught. Perry takes the back and slams his opponent to the mat. He’s on the back and uses Gall’s escape attempts to take the mount position. As the round draws to a close Perry postures up and begins throwing ground and pound.

Round 2: Gall starts the round well. He’s landing kicks and punches before eventually shooting in for a takedown. It’s deep but Perry uses his strength to fend it off. Gall attempts to drop back for a guillotine choke but it’s not really on. Perry is now on top and controlling his opponent. Perry postures up. He fends off a submission attempt before dropping some ground and pound. Gall grabs for a kimura and uses it to get back to his feet. He’s going after a takedown before breaking to throw a huge elbow. The two men separate and go back to exchanging technique in the middle of the cage. Gall eats a huge head shot and he’s on the floor. Perry goes after the finish. He lands two huge elbows but the bell sounds to save Gall.

Round 3: Perry goes straight back after it in round three. He’s landing combos on Gall who’s started to look tired. Gall lands a nice jab but Perry is starting to time his power shots to go over the top of it. Perry lands a flush superman punch – Gall takes it well. A very clear drop in output from both men. Perry seems to just to be taking his time, Gall on the other hand is spent. Perry secures the takedown with two minutes left on the clock. He moves into the crucifix position. Gall eat an elbow before managing to roll out of it but he end up mounted by Perry. Another huge elbow from Perry – credit to Gall who clearly has a great chin. Gall manages to get out but doesn’t have the energy to stand up. Perry goes back in for more ground and pound but is caught in a triangle choke. He shakes it off and the horn sounds to end the round and the fight.

Next up we have Maurice Greene taking on Gian Villante in a heavyweight match-up. Greene is looking to get back in the win column after suffering back-to-back losses. Villante has stepped up in weight after being stopped at light-heavyweight by Micha? Oleksiejczuk last time out.

Round 1: Maurice Greene is trying to stay on the outside at the beginning of round one – using his long arms to keep Gian Villante off him. Green is using kicks to also maintain distance while Villante tries to time his opponent. Greene is using his kicks well, lands a nice shot to the midsection. A kick strays low from Greene and we have a brief time out while Villante recovers. Greene back to his kicks, Villante comes in with a one-two. More kicks from both men, Villante is actually starting to get the better of it. He lands one to his opponents body which seems to get a reaction. Greene is backing up as Villante continues to whip in kicks. As the clock ticks down Greene seems to have recovered and goes back to his high volume kicking game.

Round 2: Villante has been told to get after it in round two by his corner but at the start of round two its Green dictating once again his high volume leg attacks. Villante wings in with a big overhand but it misses wildly. Greene is picking up the pace now. He’s landing with the hands now too. Villante is responding well though. He’s listening to his corner and landing things of his own. Every time he lands he gets a reaction from Greene. Villante lands a headkick but its not clean and Greene takes it well. Villante is moving forward now and beginning to dictate this fight. Greene is trying to get back behind his head as we enter the final minute. He pops out a shot but is made to pay eating a hook. Both me swing wild as the round ends

Round 3: The final round opens up with a breif grappling exchange before they go back to striking. Villante lands a huge punch which again gets a reaction from Green – it’s probably the biggest shot of the fight. Villante senses his opponent is hurt and goes in for the kill but is missing by miles. Both men are throwing crazy now and it seems Greene pushed his finger into the eye of Villante – we have another time out. Back to fighting and Greene attempts a superman punch but eats a huge counter left which drops him. Villante swarms and begins unleashing nasty ground and pound. Greene is eating big shots with no answers. He eventually grabs onto his opponents wrists and stifles the viscous attack. Greene seems to be just holding on to the head of his opponent and hoping for the referee to stand them up. All of a sudden the fight is over. Greene seems to have got the tap but it’s not really clear what happened.

Round 1: Allen misses a right hand. Daukaus lands a heavy body kick and lands a left hand soon after. They clinch up. Allen lands a body kick. Daukaus goes for the takedown but it’s defended as he has Allen up against the fence. Allen lands a big knee which drops Daukaus and has him mounted. He has the neck but Daukaus defends well. Allen still has his back and is landing heavy ground and pound including an elbow that cuts him open. Daukaus explodes and now has Allen’s back. However, Allen reverses and ends the round on top.

Round 2: Daukaus opens the round with some good striking but receives some of his own before he gets taken down by Allen. Daukaus eventually reverses and is in the half-guard position on top. But as is the theme in this fight, Allen reverses and lands some big shots. He looks to take Daukaus’ back but the latter escapes. Allen ends the round by dropping Daukaus with a left hand.

Round 3: Daukaus lands a nice combination on the feet and looks for the takedown soon after. Allen is taken down but looks to reverse with a guillotine attempt that fails as Daukaus is in his guard. Daukaus eventually gets his back and has the body triangle locked in as he looks to sink in the rear naked choke. Allen reverses and now has Daukaus’ back. They both scramble with Allen ending the fight with strikes. This was a proper scrap!

Official result: Brendan Allen defeats Kyle Daukaus via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-27, 30-27).
