Just mere minutes away from the first UFC event in 42 days, anticipation is running high for UFC on Fuel 2.
With a solid main event between Alexander Gustafsson and Thiago Silva, the card features a plethora of fantastic fights, with quite a few UFC newcomers making their debuts and plenty of UFC veterans looking to solidify their place on the roster.
The Fight of the Night bonuses are always a big talking point among fighters and fans, and today will be no exception, as there are a ton of solid contenders for all three awards.
Just in time for the event, here are some last-minute predictions for the UFC on Fuel 2 Fight of the Night awards.

The UFC had a short hiatus but is finally back with a show this Saturday live from Stockholm, Sweden. There will be 12 fights total with six fights on the prelims and six on the main card.
The main card will be shown on Fuel TV starting at 12 p.m. PT while the prelims can be viewed on the UFC page on Facebook at 9:30 a.m. PT on Saturday.
Alexander Gustafsson takes on Thiago Silva in the main event. Gustafsson will be fighting in his hometown and in front of many friends and family members. He is a legitimate contender in the light heavyweight division, and if he wins he might be a fight or two away from challenging current champion Jon Jones for the title.
Silva is the underdog in this fight and his opponent will have a four-inch reach advantage.
Although Gustafsson is from Sweden, he trains out of Team Alliance in San Diego, Calif., along with current UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz.
There are many fighters from Europe on this show since this is the first European card this year.
Brian Stann will fight Alessio Sakara in the co-main event. This fight promises to be a good stand-up brawl as both of these fighters like to keep the fight on their feet.
The “All American” Stann is coming off a loss to Chael Sonnen last November and suffered a family tragedy two days before Christmas when his brother-in-law was killed in a violent death.
Sakara was on a three-fight winning streak until he lost to Chris Weidman in his last fight. Sakara trains out of Miami with American Top Team.
Most MMA fans are anticipating the UFC 145 show on April 21 because of the main event grudge match between Rashad Evans and Jon Jones, but this Saturday’s card is very underrated.
Other fights that could be exciting are Dennis Siver vs. Diego Nunes, Papy Abedi vs. James Head and Siyar Bahadurzada vs. Paulo Thiago.
Siver is making his featherweight debut on this show and it will be interesting to see how the weight cut affects the muscular fighter.
Although there are a lot of unknown fighters on this card, this show in Sweden might have better fights than next week’s UFC 145 show.

Shortly after light heavyweight contenders Alexander Gustafsson and Thiago Silva square off inside the Octagon, many of the UFC on Fuel TV 2 competitors will join UFC president Dana White at the event’s post-fight press conference.
In addition to the highly-anticipated 205-pound main event, Saturday’s fights at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden will also feature a middleweight bout between former U.S. Marine Brian Stann and Alessio Sakara.
Also, Paulo Thiago will welcome Siyar Bahadurzada to the UFC in a 170-pound matchup. The Afghanistan native has won seven consecutive bouts heading into his Octagon debut.
Additionally, Dennis Siver will fight at featherweight for the first time after making the move from lightweight. Prior to his latest loss against Donald Cerrone, Siver was well on his way to a lightweight title shot. However, the German will now look to start a new championship run at 145 pounds against Brazilian Diego Nunes.
A live streaming feed of the post-fight press conference will be available on the below video player not long after UFC on Fuel TV 2 comes to an end.

On Saturday, the UFC will hold its first event in Sweden, the home country of main event fighter Alexander Gustafsson. With wins in four consecutive fights, Gustafsson is looking to take another step toward the light heavyweight title with a win over Brazilian Thiago Silva.
After a failed drug test in January 2011, Silva has been out of action for more than one year. Against Gustafsson, Silva will have the chance to jump right back into the mix as a contender in the 205-pound division.
Once UFC on Fuel TV 2 is live from the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, Bleacher Report will provide live results below and in-depth play-by-play on the following pages of this slideshow.

Tomorrow night marks the debut of the UFC in Sweden on an event that sold out faster than any MMA card in European history. In the main event, light heavyweights Alexander Gustafsson and Thiago Silva square off in the main event.
As a fast-rising star, Gustafsson has climbed into the Top 10 of one of MMA’s most celebrated divisions after consecutive stoppage victories over gatekeepers Vladimir Matyushenko and Matt Hamill.
Here are the burning questions that we have about the young Swede as he prepares for the biggest fight of his career.

Something has been missing in my life, and the lives of all mixed martial arts fans, for the past month. Not since March 3rd have we had the pleasure of witnessing a UFC event.
The UFC has been growing so quickly that before this drought, people had actually been complaining about the frequency of events. Well played, UFC, we are now wet with anticipation.
Do not get me wrong, there has still been plenty of MMA action this past month. Bellator, a respectable and growing promotion, offers great action. Both American and Brazilian versions of the UFC reality show are also being made available. The problem is that we crave the big show.
Even if it is not being provided through pay-per-view, UFC events are still the ultimate destination for the highest levels of MMA action. The stars are matured and their stories are relevant and accessible. Their skills are honed to perform under the greatest of pressures.
These fighters are physical geniuses, embodying athleticism, determination, versatility, and technique.
We finally get to see that again. That performance. That gala featuring the best artists primed to unveil the next showcase in their development at the risk of their ego dramatically suffering the shortcomings of its projections.
Basically, the reason why we all started loving mixed martial arts in the first place. It does not look exactly the same, but only due to the sport’s satisfyingly swift evolution. Credit for that is distributed amongst the entire sport, but let us not allow the UFC to be shortchanged in that process. They are the best and they carry a heavy load and I am reminded of that now more than ever.
When the UFC returns with UFC on Fuel TV 2: Gustafsson vs. Silva (UFC: Sweden) this Saturday I will be ready and waiting because, in my view, there is no greater manifestation of competition and event to display thereof.
