Tomorrow morning (Sat. August 31, 2019) UFC on ESPN+ 15 will go down from the Shenzhen Universade Sports Centre Arena in Shenzhen, China.

In the main event, UFC women’s strawweight champion Jessica Andrade puts her title on the line against Weili Zhang. Zhang will have the home field advantage competing in front of her native Chinese crowd. Also, in the co-main event, explosive welterweights Li Jingliang and Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos will collide.

We here at LowKickMMA have compiled our predictions for tomorrow morning’s main event. Check them out here.

UFC Shenzhen Staff Predictions

Jon Fuentes:

This is such an intriguing title fight. Andrade is a strong puncher who is so powerful in the grappling department that she won the title with a slam knockout. As for Zhang, she’s extremely well-rounded with great striking, and a vicious top game on the canvas. I think Zhang is a touch more technically sound than the champion, and will pull off the upset in front of her native Chinese crowd via close decision. (Prediction: Weili Zhang)

Abhinav Kini:

I don’t know how but I think Weili Zhang will pull off the upset against Jessica Andrade. She’s a well-rounded fighter who will undoubtedly take inspiration from Rose Namajunas’ performance against Andrade. Having her country behind her will only motivate her further as well. (Prediction: Weili Zhang)

Andrew Ravens:

A fun fight that tops a lackluster fight card that should go the distance. Obviously, Andrade should be favored in this fight and is likely to win, but Zhang is someone that could go in there and pick up the upset win. Although Zhang is talented, I don’t see it being her time. Thus, Andrade wins by unanimous decision. (Prediction: Jessica Andrade)

Brady Briggs:

This is a great fight that’s flown under the radar for some reason. Andrade’s experience in the UFC may play a big part in this fight, but that’s not to say Zhang isn’t experienced herself, being 4-0 in title fights, and being the former KLF and Top FC women’s strawweight champion.

This is a tough one to pick because both are so good, and we don’t know quite as much about Zhang, considering she’s only 3-0 in the UFC. I think Zhang’s technical ability may be too much for Andrade. Zhang via decision. (Prediction: Weili Zhang)

Cole Shelton:

Andrade vs. Zhang is a really intriguing fight. Zhang is not well-known to some North American fans, but her skill set is legit. She is on a 19-fight winning streak and is a very technical striker that uses her fast movement to get in and out of the pocket.

Andrade, meanwhile, has superior power and boxing, and the clinch work will be key for her to win this fight. I think Zhang will win a round or two but I believe the champ will either win by decision or knockout in the fourth or fifth round. (Prediction: Jessica Andrade)

Tomorrow (Sat. August 17, 2019) UFC 241 goes down from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.

In the main event of the night, UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier puts his title up for grabs against the very man he took it from last year – Stipe Miocic. In the co-main event, Nate Diaz ends a three-year layoff to return to welterweight and take on former lightweight champion Anthony “Showtime” Pettis.

Also, in middleweight action, Yoel Romero takes on young up-and-comer Paulo Costa, in a fight that could very well determine the next challenger for the 185-pound title. Check out LowKickMMA’s UFC 241 Staff Predictions for tomorrow’s big fight card below.

UFC 241 Staff Predictions

Jon Fuentes:

Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Mioic II:

On paper, Daniel Cormier is the better all-around fighter. He has bigger knockout power at heavyweight, better wrestling, and is much more effective as a pressure fighter. All of that was evident in their first matchup. However, Miocic did have success when he kept the fight at a distance. Cormier, however, is a hard man to keep away from you. While I’d like to say I think Cormier gets it done again, I have a funny feeling Miocic connects with a shot that knocks “DC” out, ultimately resulting in him deciding to retire. (Prediction: Stipe Miocic)

Anthony Pettis vs. Nate Diaz:

What a great matchup. Two guys who come to fight, and aren’t going to let up. However, the Diaz brothers are very stubborn in their styles. They’re flat-footed, refuse to check leg kicks, and don’t throw many kicks of their own. Pettis should be able to take this fight via decision, using his kicks to keep Diaz away, and chopping away at the Stockton native’s legs throughout. (Prediction: Anthony Pettis)

Yoel Romero vs. Paulo Costa:

This could very well be a train wreck, as both Costa and Romero have power that can shut your lights off in an instant. However, Romero is a tested veteran who has fought the best the division has ever seen. He has superior wrestling and should be able to finish this on the ground. I got Romero via TKO stoppage. (Prediction: Yoel Romero)

Abhinav Kini:

Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Mioic II:

I certainly do not expect this fight to last less than a round again, but imagine how crazy it would be if it did? Regardless, I feel Daniel Cormier will come away with the win. Maybe a TKO or submission win in the third or fourth round to further stake a claim as the greatest heavyweight of all time. (Prediction: Daniel Cormier)

Anthony Pettis vs. Nate Diaz:

I don’t think the long layoff with affect Nate Diaz too much. If anything, I think he would have benefited more from this fight being a five-rounder. That said, I think Anthony Pettis is the superior striker and wins a decision in what I expect to be a fairly competitive affair. (Prediction: Anthony Pettis)

Yoel Romero vs. Paulo Costa:

This just has a knockout written all over it. However, I think it’ll be Yoel Romero delivering it as he is too much of a step up from Uriah Hall for Paulo Costa. One factor for me, however, is that Costa is probably the hardest hitter Romero will have faced in quite some time. Despite that, I still think Romero will get the win. (Prediction: Yoel Romero)

Andrew Ravens:

Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Mioic II:

Round two for these two fighters with a different fight to be expected. I expect a more conservative Miocic, especially in the clinch, just because of how the first fight ended. With that being said, I still wonder how the range will affect Cormier and if Stipe decides to do the unthinkable by taking him down. Cormier is simply a better fight and I have him winning by unanimous decision. (Prediction: Daniel Cormier)

Anthony Pettis vs. Nate Diaz:

I question how much Diaz has put into this fight considering it’s been three years since we’ve seen him compete inside of the Octagon and during that time have little to no interest in fighting. That’s a note to keep in mind considering Pettis has had somewhat of a resurgence in his latest weight class move that has sparked a fire under him. I have Pettis grabbing the unanimous decision win. (Prediction: Anthony Pettis)

Yoel Romero vs. Paulo Costa:

The time is here to have Costa show if he’s the real deal while facing one of the most dangerous fighters in the division. Romero has looked strong against other competition aside from Robert Whittaker. I can see him being the favorite heading into this fight but feel that it’s Costa’s time to shine by way of split decision. (Prediction: Paulo Costa)

Brady Briggs:

Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Mioic II:

“DC” really impressed me in his first meeting with Miocic. After he found his timing, he got in close in order to dirty box like he always does, and landed a hook off the break that Miocic didn’t see coming. It’ll be interesting to see if Miocic noticed that and made the appropriate adjustment(s). This is an absolutely huge fight, both literally and figuratively. Whoever wins this fight will most likely be considered the best heavyweight ever by most. I got “DC” by TKO within three rounds. (Prediction: Daniel Cormier)

Anthony Pettis vs. Nate Diaz:

The co-main event is a very interesting one, we’ve been waiting to see Diaz versus Pettis for a good amount of time now. I’d love to see Diaz win this fight (and he very well may, this is a pick ’em fight), but I think Pettis is a little too crafty. Diaz isn’t going to take him down, and as good as his boxing is, Pettis has kicks of every sort to keep Nate at bay. Along with having good hands himself. It could look like Pettis’ fight with “Wonderboy,” with Diaz landing tons of straight punches on Pettis. If it goes past the first two rounds, however, it may get very interesting in that third round with Diaz’s pace. I got Pettis via decision. (Prediction: Anthony Pettis)

Yoel Romero vs. Paulo Costa:

We finally get to see this go down, and this one’s also quite hard to pick. They’re two of the scariest middleweights ever, and it comes down to experience versus youth. I think Costa is honestly a little too big for Romero, but he may also be too aggressive. He may waste all of his energy going for a finish, and if he doesn’t get it, a third-round Romero is like a third or fourth round Max Holloway, except not with volume, but with finishing instinct and power. I’m taking Romero via round three knockout. (Prediction: Yoel Romero)

Cole Shelton:

Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Mioic II:

Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Miocic will be a very interesting fight and a super tough fight to call. Miocic had success early on in the first fight, but the key for him to win will be to keep the range where ‘DC’ can’t hit him. Yet, I think Cormier will be able to close the range, use his clinch and wrestling to win the fight by decision in a very close bout. (Prediction: Daniel Cormier)

Anthony Pettis vs. Nate Diaz:

Diaz vs. Pettis I see going one of two ways. Pettis will either use his leg kicks similar to what McGregor did in the second fight, and his striking will be too much for Diaz. Or, I see Diaz’s pressure being too much for Pettis and he will break under it, but I favor Pettis getting it done by decision. (Prediction: Anthony Pettis)

Yoel Romero vs. Paulo Costa:

Romero vs. Costa will either end by Romero using his wrestling and dictating where the fight goes and gassing out Costa, or Costa will knock him out in the first. I think the Cuban is too skilled and will use his wrestling to dominate this fight en route to a late finish via ground and pound. (Prediction: Yoel Romero)

Tonight (Sat. August 10, 2019) UFC Uruguay goes down from the Antel Arena in Montevideo, Uruguay

In the main event of the night, UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko puts her title up for grabs against Liz Carmouche. “The Bullet” is hoping to avenge a doctor stoppage loss to Carmouche from their days in the regional circuit before landing UFC deals.

As for Carmouche, she’s hoping to capture UFC gold for the first time in her career. Check out LowKickMMA’s UFC Uruguay staff predictions for tonight’s big fight:

UFC Uruguay Staff Predictions

Jon Fuentes:

A lot of people seem to be overlooking Carmouche’s wrestling in this fight. While I don’t think it will ultimately be enough to dethrone Shevchenko, I do believe it will make the fight much closer than everyone is expecting. With that being said, Shevchenko has great takedown defense, an underrated submission game, and proven finishing power. She can win this fight any way she wants to, but I expect she leaves Uruguay with a unanimous or split decision win. (Prediction: Valentina Shevchenko)

Abhinav Kini:

I think this will be closer than people have come to expect, but that said, Valentina Shevchenko is still miles above anyone in the 125-pound division. She may have lost to Liz Carmouche back in 2010, but nine years is a long time and I expect “Bullet” – who has continued to grow better and better as a mixed martial artist – to convincingly win the rematch with possibly another finish. (Prediction: Valentina Shevchenko)

Andrew Ravens:

I find it hard to think that Liz Carmouche is someone who could realistically beat Valentina Shevchenko outside of a shock finish, whether it’s KO or submission. Valentina is clearly the best fighter in the division, and the only fighter who could/has beaten her is Amanda Nunes. I have Valentina winning in a dominant performance by unanimous decision (Prediction: Valentina Shevchenko)

Brady Briggs:

Shevchenko has only ever lost to two people. One of those losses was a doctor stoppage (to Carmouche), one was a three-round unanimous decision to Amanda Nunes, and the other was a five-round split decision to Nunes. Both of her Nunes fights were close. If the first one had two more rounds, she most likely would’ve won that one, and most people think she won their title fight rematch.

For being a 56-2 kickboxer, you really wouldn’t expect her to be so well rounded, but she is. Shevchenko’s ground game is very underrated; her body lock trips are some of the best around and she even has a submission (armbar) win over Julianna Pena, who’s a stud grappler.

That’s where Carmouche needs the fight in order to win. Carmouche has some very good wrestling. I don’t think what she brings to the table will be enough, however. Shevchenko can win this fight in multiple ways. I could see her outpointing Carmouche to a decision, I could see her submitting her, and I could see her winning via knockout. (Prediction: Valentina Shevchenko)

Cole Shelton:

Valentina Shevchenko looks like someone who will be a champion for a long time. She has all the skillset to take the fight wherever she wants, but it will be interesting to see how she handles Carmouche’s strength and power. I expect this fight to be much closer than everyone expects but Shevchenko will win by decision (Prediction: Valentina Shevchenko)

Tonight (Sat. August 3, 2019) UFC Newark goes down from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

In the main event of the night, former interim UFC welterweight champion Colby Covington takes on former teammate and ex-170-pound champion Robbie Lawler. Lawler is one of the most vicious knockout artists in the game. Now, he’ll take on a former training partner in Covington, who is one of the division’s best wrestlers.

As for “Chaos,” this fight will undoubtedly be a tough test for his chin. Check out LowKickMMA’s UFC Newark staff predictions for tonight’s big fight:

UFC Newark Staff Predictions

Jon Fuentes:

What a great matchup. A vicious knockout artist against one of the best wrestlers the division has to offer. This is a big test for Covington’s chin, but it will also be a big test for Lawler’s takedown defense, which has proven to be great over the course of his career. Covington fights with relentless pressure, and will likely keep Lawler backed up against the cage for 25 minutes. I got Covington via decision. (Prediction: Colby Covington)

Abhinav Kini:

This fight will end in one of two ways – Colby Covington grinds his way to a unanimous decision or Robbie Lawler gets a knockout win that most fans are dying to see. Covington has a good chin though, and it’ll be interesting to see how it holds up against Lawler’s bombs. But unless he’s dropped to his head like Ben Askren was, I just see Covington’s wrestling being a huge factor which ultimately gets him the decision victory. (Prediction: Colby Covington)

Andrew Ravens:

I still find the decision of Covington taking this fight interesting. While yes, he hasn’t fought in over a year and probably could use the cash, Lawler is a dangerous fighter despite him being on a two-fight losing streak.

Obviously, Covington is the #1 contender for the title but if he takes Lawler lightly, he could find himself upset by the UFC Veteran. I don’t see that happening as Covington is in his prime while Lawler is not. Covington walks away with the unanimous decision win. (Prediction: Colby Covington)

Brady Briggs:

I was a little upset that Colby Covington hadn’t gotten a shot at the undisputed title yet, and that he has to take another fight first. However, this matchup is amazing and I can’t wait for this fight. Covington should be able to pressure Lawler and get the decision, but who knows in a Robbie Lawler fight. Lawler’s most likely at the end of his career, and it’s Covington’s time right now. Covington via decision. (Prediction: Colby Covington)

Cole Shelton:

The main event of UFC Newark is a very interesting one. Colby Covington hasn’t fought since UFC 225, while Robbie Lawler is on a two-fight losing streak. We all know Lawler has excellent takedown defense, but “Chaos” and his chain wrestling will be too much for “Ruthless” and his relentless pace will gas Lawler, and he will dominate him on the ground for either a decision win, or possibly, a late finish in the fourth or fifth round. (Prediction: Colby Covington)
