Tonight (Sat. July 27, 2019) UFC 240 goes down from the Rogers Place in Edmonton, Canada.

In the main event of the night, UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway puts his title on the line against Frankie Edgar. Edgar has challenged for the 145-pound strap twice before, but against a different champion in Jose Aldo. Now, he gets a fresh opportunity against a new champion.

Holloway will face, arguably, the best wrestler he has ever competed against inside the Octagon. Check out LowKickMMA’s UFC 240 staff predictions for tonight’s big fight:

UFC 240 Staff Predictions:

Jon Fuentes:

This fight is going to be a lot closer than people think. Holloway hasn’t faced a wrestler as accomplished as Edgar. If “The Answer” can get the fight to the ground consistently, we’re going to see a new champion at 145 pounds. However, I think Holloway has the takedown defense to keep things standing, where he thrives. “Blessed” should be able to outclass Edgar on the feet to retain his title via decision. (Prediction: Max Holloway)

Abhinav Kini:

I think Max Holloway will get the win but it won’t be as straight forward as many are predicting. Frankie Edgar is the understandable betting underdog but he always pushes the pace, mixes it up better than most, and is arguably the best wrestler Holloway will have faced.

If he’s able to take Holloway down, this fight could be very interesting. That said, it’s a big if and Holloway has great takedown defense along with high-level striking, cardio, and volume. I see him getting the decision but it will be a competitive one in my book. (Prediction: Max Holloway)

Andrew Ravens:

This has fight of the night written all over it with an excellent matchup that should make for a close fight in the early going. Obviously, Holloway is still the king of the featherweight division and in the prime of his career.

As the fight goes deeper into the rounds, I think Holloway starts to pull away with his grappling and at the end will dominate the future UFC Hall of Famer. I still see Edgar keeping it close in the beginning. Holloway gets it done by decision. (Prediction: Max Holloway)

Brady Briggs:

This is the third time this fight has been booked, thank God it’s really happening this time. I think Frankie Edgar mixes it up as well as anyone; Georges St-Pierre, Kamaru Usman, Dominick Cruz, Demetrious Johnson – he’s up there.

Edgar’s also been fighting bigger opponents his whole life, but at 145 pounds, I think Max Holloway’s a different animal. I don’t see anyone beating him at featherweight. Max Holloway via decision or late TKO. (Prediction: Max Holloway)

Cole Shelton:

Although Holloway is a massive favorite, into the -400 range, I think this fight is much closer than that. There are two questions I keep wondering: How will Holloway’s confidence be after losing for the first time in years, and how will Edgar’s wrestling play in as an impact in this fight?

Holloway has yet to face an elite level wrestler like Edgar so, should the former lightweight champ be able to dictate the pace and get the fight to the ground it should be interesting. But, I think Holloway can keep it standing long enough that he will be able to win three rounds, to Edgar’s two. It is a close fight but Holloway will get it done and defend his title. (Prediction: Max Holloway)

UFC San Antonio goes down tomorrow night (Sat. July 20, 2019) from the AT&T Center in Texas.

In the main event of the night, welterweights Rafael dos Anjos, a former lightweight champion, and Leon Edwards will go head-to-head. The up-and-coming Edwards will get to test himself against a former UFC champion in dos Anjos, who is one of the most well-rounded fighters under the promotion’s banner today.

Check out LowKickMMA’s UFC San Antonio staff predictions for the main event here below.

UFC San Antonio Staff Predictions:

Jon Fuentes:

This is undoubtedly the biggest fight of Edwards’ career. He’s taking on a former UFC lightweight champion that Dana White himself has admitted he uses as a measuring stick for up-and-coming talent. If Edwards wants to jump into title contention, a win over “RDA” is a must.

However, dos Anjos is a far superior grappler, and his pressure may be too much for Edwards to handle. Also, “RDA” has some serious knockout power, and if he’s able to land an overhand flush on “Rocky’s” chin, it might be a quick day at the office for him. The former champion is simply all-around superior to Edwards. I expect “RDA” to finish this one. (Prediction: Rafael dos Anjos)

Abhinav Kini:

Rafael dos Anjos is arguably the toughest opponent Leon Edwards will have faced (considering he faced Kamaru Usman back in 2015), and a win over the former lightweight champion would not only make it eight-straight wins for “Rocky,” but also move him into title contention.

That said, “RDA” really impressed me with his win over Kevin Lee, and he’ll be a considerably big step up from Gunnar Nelson. Edwards is dangerous in the clinch and is a good all-rounder in general, but dos Anjos is as well, maybe even better in all areas too. He might not have the youth, but I still think RDA takes this one. (Prediction: Rafael dos Anjos)

Andrew Ravens:

I question how much “RDA” can be trusted to be favored in this fight against such a young lion in Edwards, who has been making a name for himself in the welterweight division.

Dos Anjos has been struggling in his latest outings, and with such a hungry Edwards coming into the biggest fight thus far in his MMA career, I find it hard to think that “RDA” can out-class him. The Brazilian must finish early to get the win, and I don’t see that. I’m taking Edwards in a dominating decision win. (Prediction: Leon Edwards)

Brady Briggs:

This is a great matchup between two of the best in the world at 170 pounds. We have one of the most experienced and well-rounded fighters out there in Rafael dos Anjos, and a really talented former BAMMA champion trying to crack the top ten, who’s on a seven-fight win streak. The former champion has the experience edge, and has overall fought better opponents, and in higher profile situations. Rafael dos Anjos via decision. (Prediction: Rafael dos Anjos)

Cole Shelton:

“RDA” was counted out in the welterweight division after two losses to Usman and Covington. And the recipe to beat him was pressure and wrestling, yet, that is the opposite of what Edwards does well. I think dos Anjos will be able to push the pace, use his grappling, and win by decision to snap the Englishman’s long winning streak. (Prediction: Rafael dos Anjos)

UFC Sacramento goes down tomorrow night (Sat. July 13, 2019) from the Golden 1 Center in California.

In the main event of the night, bantamweights Aspen Ladd and Germaine De Randamie will go head-to-head. The up-and-coming Ladd will get to test herself against a former UFC champion in de Randamie, who is one of the best female strikers under the promotion’s banner today.

Also, former multi-time UFC bantamweight title challenger Urijah Faber makes his return to mixed martial arts (MMA) competition after coming out of retirement. He takes on the young and impressive Ricky Simon. The Las Vegas-based promotion has compiled a great card for its return to Sacramento.

Check out LowKickMMA’s UFC Sacramento staff predictions here below.

UFC Sacramento Staff Predictions:

Abhinav Kini:

De Randamie vs. Ladd:

Aspen Ladd has been very impressive since making her UFC debut with three straight wins. A win over Germaine de Randamie would be a huge statement and the biggest win of her career. However, I feel de Randamie is just a level higher right now and should get the win to potentially set up a rematch with Amanda Nunes. (Prediction: De Randamie)

Faber vs. Simon:

I’m actually fine with Urijah Faber coming out of retirement. Even though he lost two of his last three, I didn’t think he was necessarily past it. That said, Ricky Simon has looked really good of late and Faber’s last fight was nearly three years ago. I think Simon will get the biggest win of his career. (Prediction: Simon)

Andrew Ravens:

De Randamie vs. Ladd:

An interesting fight that really could go either way. Ladd has so much potential in her MMA career while GDR has proven what she can do inside of the Octagon. This comes down to age in the end as I think Ladd’s speed will be too much for GDR. Ladd closing in on range will be the key to victory for her whether that’s tagging the veteran with strikes or takedowns. Ladd gets it done by unanimous decision. (Prediction: Aspen Ladd)

Faber vs. Simon:

As much as this would be a great story to have Faber return to the sport after years away and be victorious in his hometown, I don’t see it. The UFC didn’t give Faber an easy task but rather tossed him to a worthy challenger who is extremely dangerous. I see Faber keeping it close but Simon gets it done by unanimous decision. (Prediction: Ricky Simon)

Brady Briggs:

De Randamie vs. Ladd:

This fight is a little harder to pick, considering de Randamie doesn’t fight too often; however, she’s much bigger than Ladd, and has a much more extensive background in kickboxing. This is an MMA fight of course, but with her size, and her wrestling defense has improved drastically since we’ve first seen her, I think she takes a decision over the younger Ladd. (Prediction: Germaine de Randamie)

Faber vs. Simon:

I for one believe the youth will play a big factor and Simon will win via decision. I could certainly see Faber winning, but Simon has been active recently. He has won a lot recently, and he’s not going to let this opportunity to beat a legend pass him by. (Prediction: Ricky Simon)

Cole Shelton:

De Randamie vs. Ladd:

This is a really intriguing bout and a fight that could go many ways. Either Aspen Ladd will use her wrestling to take down de Randamie, or the former featherweight champ will use her kickboxing to keep the prospect at range and piece her up. However, I think Ladd is the real deal and will win this fight by stoppage in the fourth or fifth round. It will be a close fight, but one in which Ladd will get her hand raised. (Prediction: Aspen Ladd)

Faber vs. Simon:

Ricky Simon is not the person Urijah Faber should have returned against. In my eyes, he is one of the top prospects at bantamweight, and at 26, will be able to keep up the pressure and have a hard pace against the Hall of Famer. How Faber looks in this fight will be telling on if he should have returned. But, I think Simon dominates this fight as he keeps it standing and either wins by unanimous decision or by TKO in the third round. (Prediction: Ricky Simon)
