Shavkat Rakhmonov vs. Ian Machado Garry - UFC 310 Highlights

Shavkat Rakhmonov outworked Ian Machado Garry throughout their five-round co-main event at UFC 310, scoring a unanimous decision victory and moving to 19-0 in his mixed martial arts career.

Much of the first round was spent clinch-fighting along the cage — most of which was initiated by Rakhmonov. With 30 seconds to go, the fighters finally separated and Rakhmonov popped Garry’s head back with a big right hand. Rakhmonov immediately re-initiated the clinch and maintained his hold on Garry until the end of the round.

The second round saw both fighters open up a little more with their striking, the advantage clearly going to Rakhmonov who landed a couple of solid jabs and a right hand that clipped the Irishman while he was circling away from the fence. Rakhmonov tried to follow it up with a left that prompted Garry to clinch up and put Rakhmonov’s back against the fence.

Rakhmonov reverses the position and once again fails to get Garry to the mat. Rakhmonov ultimately relinquishes the hold and returns to the center of the cage where they exchange a few blows before heading to their respective corners.

Garry undoubtedly had his best round in the third, opening up more with the kicks and catching Rakhmonov with some slick jabs, but it was ‘Nomad’ who made the biggest statement in the round with a booming right hand right before the horn.

With Garry starting to get off on his feet, Rakhmonov switches things up and attacks Garry’s legs, landing the first takedown of the fight in round four. Garry scrambled his way out of the position, but instead of disengaging, he tried to grapple with Rakhmonov and ultimately gave up his back against the fence. Still, Garry was able to fend off Rakhmonov, but that only encouraged ‘Nomad’ to shoot in and land another double-leg takedown, putting him in a dominant position to end the penultimate round.

With Garry likely behind on the scorecards and in need of a finish, ‘The Future’ came out swinging, but that opened him up for another takedown attempt. Rakhmonov shot in and looked to land a single leg, but Garry defended and ended up taking Rakhmonov’s back. With a body triangle locked in, Garry fought hard to land a rear-naked choke. Rakhmonov kept his chin down and fought the hands before reversing the position and getting on top of Garry.

Garry wall-walked his way back up, but Rakhmonov maintained control against the cage and essentially rode out the remainder of the fight in the clinch.

Bryce Mitchell got back into the win column at UFC 310 via a vicious third-round TKO against Kron Gracie.

The second round saw Gracie land a nice left hand to get things going, but he found himself in a bit of trouble after Mitchell unloaded a combination followed by a knee that glanced off his chin. While Gracie was backpedaling, Mitchell chased which allowed Gracie to grab ahold of him and pull guard once again.

Fortunately, Mitchell got back to his feet and forced Gracie back up. Unfortunately, Gracie quickly pulled guard once again. However, Gracie finally got his offense going on the ground and slowly started to cinch in an armbar. Mitchell defended the hold forcing Gracie to transition to an arm triangle. Mitchell defended the triangle but nearly found himself in an even more dangerous armbar attempt.

Mitchell smartly gets himself out of danger and lands a few ground-and-pound shots as the second-round horn sounds.

Gracie immediately tries to pull guard in the opening seconds of the third round, but this time Mitchell slams him down to the mat with authority and unleashes a vicious elbow that has Gracie out cold. Mitchell lands another for good measure as the referee rushes in to bring the fight to a halt.

Dominick Reyes vs. Anthony Smith - UFC 310 Highlights

Dominick Reyes put a beating on Anthony Smith during the UFC 310 featured prelim ahead of Saturday’s main card on pay-per-view.

Reyes came out aggressive and led the dance for the majority of the opening round. Though that’s not to say Smith didn’t have his moments. ‘Lionheart’ managed to land a few nice right hands during the stand-up battle, but it was Reyes who landed the more significant strikes, particularly in the final 30 seconds of the round when he really started to open up and tag Smith.

Things really started to get out of hand in the second with Reyes lighting up Smith with a slew of elbows against the fence. By the two-minute mark of the round, Reyes had outstruck ‘Lionheart’ 42-0. Reyes continued to pour it on as Smith accepted his position on the mat with 90 seconds to go.

With the clock winding down and Smith doing nothing to improve his position, referee Marc Goddard finally decided to step in and call for the stoppage, awarding Reyes his second straight win inside the Octagon.

Things picked up right where they left off in the first with ‘Aljo’ level-changing right out of the gate and securing a slick takedown in the opening seconds. Evloev scrambled his way out of Sterling’s grasp and slid into side control before taking the ex-champion’s back. Sterling got back to his feet but ended up eating a big left from Evloev before being sent back to the mat.

Chris Weidman vs. Eryk Anders - UFC 310 Highlights

Eryk Anders pounded out the biggest win of his career at UFC 310 on Saturday night.

Just before the two-minute mark of the opening round, Anders caught a kick from Weidman and caught the former champion with a head kick. Clearly compromised, Weidman attempted to evade leading Anders to shoot for a takedown. As Weidman attempted to defend with one knee on the mat, Anders unleashed a knee that caught Weidman in the head. Fortunately, Weidman appeared to be okay and the fight continued moments later.

Seconds into the resumed scrap, Weidman caught Anders with a left hook that sat ‘Ya Boi’ down. With a little bit of blood flowing from his right eye, Anders looked to ride out the remainder of the round on his back and keep Weidman from doing any more damage.

The second round was a completely different story with Anders securing an early takedown on Weidman and pummeling the future Hall of Famer with a slew of ground-and-pound strikes. Anders switches to some elbows as Weidman does everything he can to defend and block the shots.

After allowing Weidman to take a beating for two and a half minutes, referee Mark Smith finally sees enough and brings a stop to the contest with 10 seconds left in the second stanza.
